There’s nothing remotely in the game that explains the ties to the erdtree when respawning, but many speculate that that is the case bc omens are born without grace. However if that is the case then the albinauric massacre wouldn’t make sense bc there wouldn’t be dead corpses everywhere. U see how returning to the erdtree after death is used very loosely. It’s really all for gameplay reasons
