I had the same experience when I lived in Atlanta. I looked around when I was downtown one time and was surprised I was the only non black person as far as the eye could see. Like "huh, this is what is feels like" 😂
Nah, it's different because they will often let it be known that you're not welcome and you're not safe. I've had many experiences with a group of white people and a single black person and I had never seen the reverse. At least half the times I've been the only white guy amongst a bunch of black people in public it was made abundantly clear I wasn't wanted and/or my life was at risk just for being there.
