The first year and beginning of year is always so busy with lots to do. You’ll eventually find your groove and won’t have to stay so late but for now you have to do what you need to do to get ahead. Third year teacher here :)
I've enjoyed watching your set up. I've been teaching for over 30 years and still get excited for the start of the year. Don't worry too much about what others say in regard to "not bringing work home" or their opinions on contract hours. I'm a firm believer in you do what's best for you. :) The beginning of the year can be overwhelming and setting up your class so it works for you and your kids is the most important. At the beginning of the year, there is so much to do that you will work outside hours. But as time goes on, you'll figure out a routine.

Looks great! Keep the extra books. You will use them for student book bags. Name tags are awesome on their pencil boxes. Super movable.
