    I love Saskatoon. Beautiful city. I was born there in 1950. I have lived in Edmonton since 1960. As an old man, I wish I could return to my heritage province.

    Hace pocos días regresé a Chile desde la hermosa ciudad de Saskatoon, donde se quedó estudiando mi hermosa hija mayor. En el video pude observar muchos de los lugares que recorrimos juntos, lo que me emocionó mucho. Espero volver a viajar a Saskatoon el próximo año para ver a mi hija Catalina y a las hermosas personas que conocimos mientras estuve en esa linda ciudad. Un gran saludo desde la ciudad de Arica, norte de Chile.

      It’s light anyway, no traffic and you can go anywhere in the city under 20 minutes. Less than 300,000 residents and no real boarder towns/cities to speak of. 300k minus all categories of non eligible driver you probably have less than 75k at a guess.
      There’s only 1,000,000 people in a province 3.5x the size of the United Kingdom.

    • @RDMacQ
      @RDMacQ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Traffic is usually pretty light most days. It's not that big of a city. The biggest thing that causes a traffic jam tends to be trains that cut off and back up traffic.

    I had never heard of Saskatoon before; aside from the major cities (Montreal, Toronto, etc.) there's a lot about Canada I don't know. (Learn something every day.) That building to the right at 2:26 caught my eye right away, nice style.

    Is Saskatoon a safer city to live in than Regina?

    • @audreyolives1642
      @audreyolives1642 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and no. There is one area in particular in Saskatoon that’s really rough but overall I’d say yes it’s safer than Regina. I’ve lived both places and i didn’t like Regina at all, met some great friends but it was very rundown for the most part. I love Saskatoon and still visit often

    • @Chydova
      @Chydova 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@audreyolives1642 thank you, what place would that be? Basically my boyfriend moved from Toronto to Regina and unfortunately he was attacked two days ago while going out for a stroll in the city around 11pm. He knows that going out so late by himself was unwise, its just he is used to how it was in Toronto. They took his phone, wallet, bag and even his belt. I'm thankful that he wasn't seriously hurt.
      This is such a pity, because Saskatchewan is such a beautiful province. I wish there was a way to make it more like Toronto, just not as crowded, just a bit safer. However I'm not sure if I'd want to move to Saskatchewan now..

    Saskatoon the town is great but there is an anomaly when it comes to drivers. We've been here 3 years now and from what we can tell, it's a place thats had the overall skill level of its drivers brought down by a severe influx of new drivers.
    These new drivers aren't necessarily young but rather from other countries.
    The city needs to focus on providing resources to those companies who are setup to train new drivers... especially new drivers from other countries.

    A very very bad city for life. In the last year the quality of life in Saskatoon became almost as bad as in 3-rd world (no joke). Too many homeless people and crazy people in streets. The air smells of feces and sewage. Especially in Parks. Yesterday I took an 1 hour walk in the evening. The air in general smelled of sewage and I felt strong canabis smoke 7 times in 1 hour !!!! So, you really feel worse after you walk in this city. In the last year it became super bad. It was a bad city before. The quality of housing is not good, terrible and hostile climate, all the washing machines are common and very old, even damn internet through copper cables. The air smells of stinky diesel fumes every 2 minutes. So it was a stinky place behind the times on the north. But it was like that in 2019. In the last year 2021 there appeared this toxic canabis smell everywhere and in the same time a smell of feces (sewage). Now you just feel bad after you walk in the city, because the air smells of diesel,canabis and feces. This place made a very strong detrimental effect on my health. I'll leave this city very soon. And I am very very very happy about it. It may look like a good place in 4k resolution, but video reflects nothing. There is an immence cultural decline. Too many people are addicted to canabis, and formally they are not drug addicted as canabis is legal here. But in fact they are drug addicted. So they smoke 2-3 times every day after school or job and they smoke all days along all the weekends, so it is very difficult to live with this trash near by. Because this toxic smoke comes into your windows and under your doors, and affects your mind. The decline in the last year was so immence that I couldn't believe it. Every day in this city is a pain for me, as I can't walk on the streets here without feeling disgusted. This city became unlivable.
