    I love watching this. Last summer the neighborhood kids dug at a burn pit in my backyard and found square nails and hinges. My home is 120+ years old so I was not surprized in what they found. They had a great time. We can not wait until this summer to continue. Our village is 300 years old so no telling what we will find.

    My parents purchased an old ranch site developed in the 1885 . Has a historic Mill site. While there digging around the old mill site I found the outhouse. Need to get back and do some digging in side the outback house. Found a bunch of very old beer bottles while working the old fence lines. Some nice old tools around the corral area sitting in new fence post about 2 or more feet down. Love this stuff.. I was there off and on now and then but whenever I get there always finding stuff. The early pioneers had a dump site which was covered in poison oak and sumac but thanks to my Indian blood does not seem to affect me so pulled up a whole bunch of really cool kitchen tools pots, pans, bottles. Had everything soaking in my kitchen sink so always working towards clean show pieces. Need to be back up there and go digging in the old mill site outhouse.. i think should be some nice late 1800'S down in the hole. I love finding the square nails off the old ranch site of 3000 acres donation land claimed. The cousin's next door are Oregon Century old plus ranchers still holding there claims. Now into the fourth generation of family working ranchers. It is cool seeing that state award out on the county road. My photo logo is at the old Mill Site Pond area taken 16 years ago maybe more.

    Had fun watching you Guys. I live in Maine around Fry Mt. Found dumps around rock walls. The best thing I found was a set of old glasses setting on a rock and an inkwell at the base of the same rock. I looked for the for the pen, but never found it. Walking in the same woods, I found a flat rock with old wagon pieces. My questing is how do you stop. I can go all day and night when I find a dump. And I'm 72.

    awesome finds!!! deeper the hole gets, the more nervous I get. ex-fiance was firefighter - on trench, fast water, & trench rescue. if trench or hole collapses with someone in it, the first thing they do on scene is call family or whoever victim wants to say goodbye to. no chance they can dig you out before weight of dirt suffocates you. know everyone's gonna jump me for being a karen and i'm so not trying to be one. a sheet of plywood cut in half and a cpl 2x4s could save one of your lives.... (climbs off soapbox)
    your digs are so freaking cool. i own a piece of property that sits between 2 creeks, it had a bar/saloon on it around 1900. thinking about it in a whole new light now. lol
    good hunting, guys!

    • @jessemerrill6481
      @jessemerrill6481 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the same thing! I worked for a natural gas company on the construction side for a few years, we would install new gas lines and they beat trench safety into us so much it became natural, now when I see trenches that aren’t sloped or no shoring it makes me super nervous! They showed us some horrible videos of collapsed trenches with people stuck inside and the aftermath, I guess when you see how fast a person can lose their life and how horrible they look when finally uncovered it really sticks in the brain! The absolute worst were the poor folks that were pulled out of the hole by frantic coworkers with heavy equipment, they usually came out in pieces 🤢 so please be careful folks! Awesome bottles, I usually spend a hour or so every day taking my dog for a walk and digging in old trash sites here in AZ 🤘

    • @CrickDiggersInc
      @CrickDiggersInc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks brother mans I do appreciate the input and you are right we should definitely be a lot safer. I can’t argue with you about it at all. I do constantly monitor the stability of the hole for cracks, loosening dirt, large objects overhead and when I deal it to unsafe to venture further I spend a day or two removing all the overhang and getting back to the original dug wall and continue the process all over again.

    That broken eagle broke my heart. That was a beauty. Pontil age puts don't pop up very often. We're right outside of Pittsburgh in a great early area and a lot of times we will find a few pontil bases at the very bottom and everything above might be eighties so they had too be heavily dipped or reopened up and dug out to reuse 30 or 40 years after they were first used and that sucks.
