I've been making tostadas for a hundred years using corn tortillas. When I heard the crunch of your first bite into a flour tortilla I was in heaven. I can't believe I've missed out on something so obvious. Thanks Claudia for your channel ( I learn something new every episode).
I haven't commented here in a while because I learn something every video, but one thing I will say that this channel has taught me the most, is the salsas and sauces. I use to drive myself crazy for not being able to create the same exact salsas over and over, but I've come to realize that unless you buy from the same supplier and make huge batches that get watered down, it's going to be different every time. It took me a while to realize that THAT IS THE FUN PART. Get the chilis you can get, the veggies you can get, and over time you will start to realize what it going to work and what isn't. These videos are a journey, not a single use be all and end all.
for real! at one point i was like she gotta nail down one recipe for this sauce because i can't!!! but eventually i learned that it wasn't about the same salsa each time, but a sauce that works the best with whatever you might be cooking.
Your videos bring so much happiness into the world. Your family is unbelievably fortunate to have you cooking in the house as a chef, an inspiration, and a mentor about what is important in an otherwise crazy world. Reminds me of my amazing mom who made our house a fantastic place to live as a child. I wish you and all yours the best there is in life!!!!❤
Wow that looks so delicious your so awesome your family is so blessed having a wife and mother like you. I know my mom was like you she always made delicious food I miss her so much. But thank you and Gods many blessings upon you and your family. 🙏🏼❤️🌹☺️
Claudia! I love how specific you are in the ingredients section (not like how our moms taught us). I would love to see healthier alternatives to Mexican dishes. As much as I love these recipes, a lot of the times I don’t make it for health reasons. Have a great day 💕
my mother is from new mexico she used to make these all the time i learned how to do it myself i made tostadas when my wife an i first got married they were good but they couldnt compare to my mothers and i could never figure out why until now i totally forgot that i used store bought stuff because i do everything like she does and my mother made everything from scratch from the salsa to the tortillas man i miss her cooking
Claudia, you’ve proven yourself with all your with excellent recipes resulting in much awaited for cookbook. Now please, consider providing us folks with diabetic recipes and healthy choices.
She has a lot of healthy dishes instead of using ground beef for this recipe you can use ground turkey that’s a great healthier option for this dish..!! The veggies are all healthy of course. Love you Claudia 🙏💙😊
OMG we have the same blender! I love that blender. Great looking tostada and you just taught me about the pickled jalapeño in the pico de gallo. Never tried it. Now I have to. Thanks!
So cool, i always use the HEB ready to cook flour tortillas and making these tostadas out of them worked super well! 👌 they completely held together and tasted very good.

A healthier alternative for this recipe is using ground turkey with taco seasoning. For the tostadas you could bake instead of deep fry.
