    Why you didn't show taking off screw in the middle or do you pull top over it or does it come out and mines just tight

    Why did you put the JB Weld on the shaft? If it's suppose to harden, what happens if you need to replace the part?

      @evanhb49 ปีที่แล้ว

      im pretty sure he did that to compensate for the shaft being stripped, mine wasn’t stripped so i didnt do jb weld

    This still working? I've replaced that plastic part 3 times now, finally realized the shaft must also be stripped and so am considering replacing that, but this would be way easier and cheaper.

    Thank you for posting, helped me a lot! Can I just order a new part (depending on price)? Cause I don’t have all the stuff you have

    Thank you for your informative video. Do you have to replace the gear part?

    For me it's not spinning really at all, is that the same issue you had?

      @@lynperk So I was just trying to fit the parts before actually doing the masking tape and jb weld, and the first smaller ring won't go down all the way, theres about a half inch or quarter inch gap just can't get it to budge, I tried putting oil on it and put my whole body weight on it best I could.. it won't go down tho.. I don't think it's the wrong part but idk, it's super tight... any idea how to get it to go down the rest of the way?I was trying to use tools but its gonna break the plastic...

      @@fatherfigure7361 might want to use a pipe and a hammer to force it down

    • @fatherfigure7361
      @fatherfigure7361 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lynperk I ended up just hammering it down and skipped the steps with the JB-weld just because of how insanely tight the new part was by itself I figured it would be tight enough to grip and for the shaft to spin since the old part was fairly loose, so all I did was replace the parts, I figured if it breaks again I can always put the JB-weld on next time cause I assume the JB-weld gonna be messy forcing it down with a hammer so all in all just 12 bucks and a few mins to fix it for me idk if you think this is a bad idea because I was thinking yeah it could strip the shaft more but I mean if it gets to that point shouldn't the JB-weld idea still work either way saved me a lot of time and money since some guy on facebook marketplace wanted to sell me his nice newer looking broken washer from his home for $200 he just happened to be moving out of so I have no way to find him again! Washer is spinning great tho and im extremely happy I didn't have to throw away a washer and replace it!

    After you put it back together should the plastic plate around the shaft still spin? Because after I put it together the plate is not spinning freely

    • @BigAlWillis
      @BigAlWillis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's not supposed to spin. it spins the drum so it needs to be locked in place. The shaft spins.

      Couldn't you just use the jb rather than buying the part? Bc that link is now unavailable and I'm getting the same code.

    cheaply designed when the shaft spline strips.

      Still working Lyn? I replaced the hub assembly 16 months ago and just got the S5 error again. Splines are much worse now.

    It looks like it's using just a little bit of water but it'll overflow a 13 gal tub every time it drains while a little Whirlpool front loader gets the clothes clean, and doesn't even fill one.🫢
