Couldn't possibly think of a better way to spend $2.00 than this! Wow, what a tour! Thank you for being our tour guide. What an awesome collection of 60's & 70's American cars. It was like a walk through, previewing what heaven will be like. Here in MI, we just don't have many salvage yards anymore like the one you just featured. I'm sure someone already revealed the identity of Marvin Martian from the old Warner Bros./Looney Tunes Cartoon series of characters from the 50's & 60's. Haven't seen a Kent Golden Lights book of 20 matches in years. Thank you again! Look forward to your next video from Desert Valley if you go back for a part 3?
As a matter of fact there is already a part 3. It should be showing up as suggested in your playlist, if not you can try and search for it on my channel. I'm glad you liked the video! I'll keep them coming!
Just found your videos. I like , how you are mellow and not acting like a kid on crack most other videos. I like how you speed up the video when your walking, I like your attention to detail. Your doing a great job , I will subscribe and like God bless young man.
The white 62 Chrysler Newport you liked the dash in is called Astradome. No bulbs, has electroluminescent to light up the dash lights. It is a beautiful sight at nighttime. And yes it does have A/C. The turrets sticking out of the top of the dash are present. Chrysler for several years mounted the rearview mirror on the dash. That one does not have the day and night feature. It does have a factory clock and Golden Tone AM radio. Chrysler offered several 4 door rooflines in 62. The one you saw which is the more common hardtop. The large rear window 4 door is quite a bit rarer. And of course the most common 4 door sedan. The Newport was also offered in 2 door hardtop, convertible, and wagon. Most of these old cars, I mean 65 and down seem to be A/C equipped. Most likely because of where they were originally sold. Their is a wrecking yard in Fresno, Ca that had probably fifty to one hundred Imperials from 1955 to 1966. Unfortunately I heard that they were crushed within the past few years. There is a video on you tube showing them. I saw these Imperials back in 1999 when I was sourcing parts for my 1986 Ford Thunderbird that I had just wrecked. The Imperials were in really good shape at the time.
Awesome, I knew somebody would pull through with some knowledge and facts about the vehicles I was getting an up close look at. I really liked that Newport. I would love to see the dash lit up at nighttime. Thanks for watching!
another good video this place always amazes me on how many 60s and 70s gems are there that wagon with the cool roof windows is a Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and many scrap yards like the old Station Wagons for scrap value when you went passed all the old thunderbirds it brought back some great memories of a girl i dated in the 1980s her daily driver was a third convertible from the early 60s we lived in South Florida and i used to follow her home and i thought she looked so great with the wind blowing her Strawberry Blonde hair the car was one of many her Dad kept at their 2nd home in Florida mostly old Fords but he did have some other makes on their farm in Washington State as well
Great tour again Tyson..not seeing the link for the retour. Place is like Disneyland lol..Vista Cruiser at 3:38 got totally picked. Saw an Olds 98 at 17:31 where the side markers were the olds logo. Looks like a 668/69..yikes
I remember when these old cars were common to see on the road. The young people think these are from outer space because they never saw them when they lived. Lots of art deco design in the 50/60's cars.

This is Art. I was raise in the junkyard salvage yard my dad own 2 used auto parts yards in San Antonio TX. Spent most of my young If yheir. Watching your nice work brings a lot of memories keep up the good work
Cool video, of course that yard is huge, maybe check out the chevelle malibu area ss preferably , but still cool, TY, and best of luck on your videos...
Thanks to your video, I found a part for my 65' Sport Fury. I went to their website, filled out the form and they got back to me in less than an hour. Thanks!
Great video!!! Loved watching it. Me and my brother love walking through salvage yards, but they are getting harder to find, especially in Canada. If you ever go back would love to see all in the Chrysler/Dodge section.
If you notice in the video a lot of the cars are for doors not two doors Only Thing Worth value on the four-door cars are front clips maybe rear bumpers and tail lights not too many people have four-door cars to restore. Bought a pair of fenders for 68 Pontiac Tempest from them they said the rust free and no body filler in them we checked out the shipping invoice one said it was heavier than the other so we looked at them one had a gallon of Bondo in it somebody just put Bond Owens fender them primed over top fit the primer was fresh other one had fresh primer as well they told us they've been sitting on a car for 20 years in yard on the car those fenders were not sitting on a car for 20 years in their yard somebody put body filler in them and primed them up real quick and tried it aged them. Drove all the way from Michigan to Arizona to give them their shit back. Not happy customer at all watch buying stuff from them if you live far away they'll give you junk not what you seen in the picture they're about Justice worst is billions and trillions in Oklahoma wouldn't Buy anything from these two year olds that's my experience.
Great video!! If you go back and you feel like it,could you see if there is any 1968 or 69 Buick Skylarks? I had a 69 in high school. My brother had a 69 Olds 88. That was our favorite year and still is!
Great job. I used to walk junkyards when I was a kid with my dad looking for parts. Back then it was the 50 and 60 models. Wonder if they have any early 70s Datsun 240Z that are restorable
Found them in Hemmings Motors. They shipped me a loaded pass.fender for a '74 buick electra a while back .Chrome and metal were great.Car heaven for sure.
I have been to this place a few times about 20 years ago. The best thing you can do on a day off. You feel excited and sad at the same time. I was hoping you would show more Imperials.
I ordered a back door of a '69 Toyota Corona from there. These were rusters when new, mine was a Vegas garage queen. Found a '61 Imperial cvt. In Big Island junkyard.
I remember seeing those in the 70s I think it’s factory kind of Lincoln continental bump on it I thought it was Odd then but cool . Back when you could order cars with weird options ,you know the way you wanted it to make your car stand out. Somebody I knew dad had one.
Wow! Thanks for the great video! Up here in Ontario I used to walk them for hours back in the 80's. We don't have too many now. How about a tour of the mopars?
seeing those two fast back chargers kills me im fixing one up right now that was filled with rust. its almost finished now tho. I cut the body of the chassis and welded it onto a lincoln towncar floorpan to get it back on the road again.
That car with watch out on it is from a well known mtn bike park in iowa that got shut down in 2009. I went there an sat ontop of that car in 2012 an drank a four loco while puffin a joint. It disappeared from the park in 2013. Now ima share this video to a few friends so that they know where that old car ended up. Thank you. Im jus glad she didnt get crushed like i thought.
At 17:31 I wish you would have checked out that 71-73 vega gt, I know alot of people dont like those cars but I love those cars I think they are cool because they look like the Camaro of that era and are cool to swap a small block into and make into a cool street car, very hard to find car these days.
Thanks a lot, for you time, I love old car I'm 63 but every time you go there you don't stop to look the 74 yellow maverick 🙏please if you go back some day thanks again 🙋♂️
That would be a great place to walk thru.I don"t think you saw the show where some huge rattle snakes had taken up residence in some of the cars. You"d never get me in there!
15:15 You can find out if that GSX is real or a clone by looking up the VIN number on the old interwebs. 15:38 MARVIN!!!!! Where's the KABOOM???? There was supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!!! 15:49 Pretty cool to see a car that was originally sold in Minnesota having it's (most likely) final resting place in Arizona. 16:42 I'd love to get that grill, it would make for an interesting piece in my garage. 18:26 Not just a Riviera, it's a Boat Tail Riviera.

They used to have a tv show filmed there it was really good. They’d choose a car from the yard then restore it then auction it off. Whomever won got themselves a good, good looking car at a reasonable price
You was on something when you found that Malibu SS you should have popped the hood on that I seen it with a floor shifter automatic you always want to catch the inside and see if it's a clutcher automatic sometimes I have a factory tech that was the highlight of me watching your video
Nice tour... I like the way u get so many cars in, fast forwarding w music too ! BTW, what is the music ? Loved it. To kind of a guy to offer to go back for people....but I understand!
I LOVE Oldsmobiles and I am into older Mustangs and Mustang II cars!!! Another car I really like are any of the Studebakers as well!! I have owned TWO Oldsmobile Omegas which you just never see at car shows (at least in my area) and I wish I owned another one!!! I really miss my cars!! I also owned three Mustang II fast backs, and one other car I loved and miss greatly was my 1972 Dodge Monaco as well!!! I had a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that was a wonderful car both a 1971 and 1972 Cutlass "S", which were great in their own rights, I even owned a 1974 Nova for a while as well!!! Another car I have to mention I owned was my 1971 Plymouth Fury four door which was fun to drive as well, it was red and I named it "Christine" after the Stephen King Novel by the same name!! I also liked the Dodge Darts and Plymouth Valiants too. My cousin owned a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere with the push button drive and he had both a 1966 Bel Air station wagon which was very cool, and a 1966 Biscayne two door, and a 1965 Caprice that oddly enough all shared the same keys to all three cars!!! But to this day I still LOVE those cars as well too!!! I especially miss my cousins 1966 Bel Air Wagon and wish I could find one like his!! Originally it had a 283 V8 under the hood and a three speed manual transmission on the column which he switched over to a floor shift because the bushings in the column shifter went bad and he bent one of the rods from the column to the transmission while shifting it! It was still a blast to drive and I only got to drive the thing ONCE EVER but I so loved the car and it was the only good memories I have of my childhood!! Two other cars I loved a lot has also the 1971 to 1974 Buick Rivera boat tails and the 1964 to 1973 Delta 88 (which is the same car Sam Rami of The Evil Dead Movies loves)!!! Just something about them is all I can say as I recall riding in my friend's fathers' Delta 88 after boy scout meetings and the ride was one of the nicest cars I ever rode in!! And the style was insane too!! As far as the GSX Buick they only came in ONE COLOR, so if you can find the originally YELLOW PAINT on the body somewhere then you may have been looking at an original GSX!! I met a guy who owned four of them and they all came in Yellow with black stripes. Those Buick GSX cars also featured a fiberglass hood that could be found on the Buick Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Skylark cars with twin snorkels set into them which back around that time EVERYBODY was getting into the "hood scoop game" and there was a lot of cars like the Oldsmobile 442 that had factory installed fiberglass hoods!!
The next time you go back could you take a look at the canaros every one of these i watch not just your videos everyone skips the camaros im looking for stuff for mine i would appreciate if you could look at those for me thanks
Yes, I believe so. A lot of cars toward the front of the lot - especially those, past the main gate, but before you pay the entry fee, are 100% complete and appeared like they would be for sale as-is.
So my next b'day i'll be 60 and have always been into cars. I have read the ads for this place in the back of Hemmings Motor News magazine since the late 70's. I called once about a part 15 years ago but I thought the price was too high although they do describe the parts well over the phone. (Honestly is rare in old car parts, even with pictures). It was a great video to see what's in there; I have one project car left and I'm quitting the hobby because I can't find competent help anymore and I don't have enough money to pay incompetent help. I saw lots of memories of my old 60's/70's cars in there. These days I have a boney Plymouth Valiant custom car; I could spend another $10K on it and it won't add value, although it's one of a kind. At least I have all the trim and my rust free project is a 4 door cut/chopped to look like an el camino or a Holden Ute from AU from the 70's. Station wagons are getting very collectible these days. There is "no love" for the older 60's/70's big Chrysler cars, guys who own those can't even get reproduction parts and I go to many car shows, see a lot of older big Mopar cars and most have beautiful new paint and no trim pieces. Whoever got that curved part off the left rear fender of the '61 Seneca was probably extremely happy to find it, kissed the ground and thanked God, and may have used it on their '61 Belvedere or Polara model. Or, they bought it for $75 and resold it on eBay for $575 or more.
Tyson , very cool video thank you, a couple of things, how expensive are they ?? Is their parts made out of gold ??? Second I need to see more of the Novas please 73-79
@@TysonHugie Yea all the C4 84 & 85 Corvettes had the 4 lug nut wheels when you ordered the car with the inline-six and power glide transmission. They were especially popular on the Corvette 4 door wagon.
That's why the place is called Desert Valley Auto Parts. Everything there, aside from maybe the complete cars near the entrance, is being parted out for scrap.
Number 1 inexpensive,I need to take a trip, looking for a 55 2door 150 Chevy, roller just enough to load it , it is going to be my rat rod hot rod type daily driver ok love this stuff , please show more ,thanks BigAl California.
Hi, If you go back I'd sure like to see any Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon 4-door hatchbacks, 1978-90. They're the ones that look like old VW Rabbits(Golf). In fact they had VW engines when they first came out.
@@TysonHugie Well, the guys in the show were obviously not actors and the production quality made the usual mistakes that many car guys hate in those shows...The manufactured drama, the ticking clock deadlines, the rivalries in the shop, etc.
@@TysonHugie My SIL and my daughter were stationed at Luke AFB and I had gone out to do some contract work. It was this month as a matter of fact, April 04', and I had told him about it from what I seen looking for older car parts on the net. We drove out there and spent quite a number of hours roaming around. I wanted to go to their other yard in Casa Grande I think it was, but we never got the chance. Shipping at that time wasn't too bad from AZ to NC. Glad you had another chance to get back in there.

They used to have a tv show filmed there it was really good. They’d choose a car from the yard then restore it then auction it off. Whomever won got themselves a good, good looking car at a reasonable price
Desert Car Kings
@@TysonHugie ….Yes that’s it. The 1970’ Oldsmobile 442 is my favorite that they restored.
How are the prices on parts i have family out there and a 65 rambler american so hard to find parts as it is
I am not sure, you might have to call them.
You was on something when you found that Malibu SS you should have popped the hood on that I seen it with a floor shifter automatic you always want to catch the inside and see if it's a clutcher automatic sometimes I have a factory tech that was the highlight of me watching your video
Thanks Jerry, I'll have to go back and check it out again
Hi Tyson, i would like to see any pickup trucks this place may have AND, if they have a 1973 Plymouth Fury.
Sounds good, I'll keep an eye out!
Nice tour... I like the way u get so many cars in, fast forwarding w music too ! BTW, what is the music ? Loved it. To kind of a guy to offer to go back for people....but I understand!
Glad you liked it! I can't remember what that song is, but I got from the TH-cam "free" audio library.
Love to see some of those station wagons
Nice, I'll keep that in mind!
Marvin the Martian! The illudiam pew-32 space modulatoooooor
Oh duh! You're right. Hahaha
Yup, from the Bugs Bunny Cartoons.
Nice video👌 I love junkyards cars and trucks 😎
Awesome; thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great video. Any Chevelle stuff ?...
Next time I go back I'll look for that!
Tyson Hugie
Sounds good!!
Glad you enjoyed!
Can you do a deep dive into just Buick stuff
That's a good idea
The next time you go back could you take a look at the canaros every one of these i watch not just your videos everyone skips the camaros im looking for stuff for mine i would appreciate if you could look at those for me thanks
Doesn't seem like there was much Camaro inventory. Same with Mustangs, Corvettes...
I’m specifically looking for Ford Mavericks I saw a big bumper one but would love to find a small number one
I'll keep an eye out for that!
Tyson Hugie Thank you
neighbor of mine has a couple in az too
Any muscle cars in there? 1967-1980 camaros or mustangs. Maybe even challengers?
For some reason I don’t usually come across those in the yards
I NEED TO GO THERE,ITS PACKED TO THE RAFTERS!!! LOVE OLD CAR JUNK YARDS!!!
Same here, I could spend all day!
Question: does DVAP have any, sort of, complete cars that can be restored? Thank you for sharing the site.
Yes, I believe so. A lot of cars toward the front of the lot - especially those, past the main gate, but before you pay the entry fee, are 100% complete and appeared like they would be for sale as-is.
@@TysonHugie Thank you.
Do you have any 1960 Dodge 2dr htp or 4 dr sedan with slant 6.
I'll check
That's awesome, sounds like you have had some fun projects!
Ive tried to buy stuff from them and it seems like they dont want to sell stuff??? I had 20 grand to spend, must not like money?
Not sure!
Tyson , very cool video thank you, a couple of things, how expensive are they ?? Is their parts made out of gold ??? Second I need to see more of the Novas please 73-79
I'm not sure on the pricing but I can find out, and will def go back and look around the Chevy section for some of those Novas!
@@TysonHugie thank you !! Very much 👍👍
That vista cruiser wagon is worth a fortune restored
Somebody should rescue it.
Those were 84' 85' era Corvette wheel on the Buick Special
Nah, I confirmed, they said Honda in the area that the center cap would cover.
@@TysonHugie Yea all the C4 84 & 85 Corvettes had the 4 lug nut wheels when you ordered the car with the inline-six and power glide transmission. They were especially popular on the Corvette 4 door wagon.
They need to get some new inventory. Most of the cars look like they have been picked clean of any useable parts.
I called them a few days ago. They are moving locations. I'll go back in about a month.
This isn't an episode of ROADKILL.
Unfortunately almost every car there is a clapped out parts only car.
I didn't see any Rollers there.
That's why the place is called Desert Valley Auto Parts. Everything there, aside from maybe the complete cars near the entrance, is being parted out for scrap.
I’m sure a few of them in the right hands could be brought back
@@turbanwearersblow Why bother?
Oh that’s a dangerous place for me to visit! I would be wanting to buy some cool stuff I see ! Wow
Haha definitely hit it up!
They had a 1971 Maverick Grabber in there last time...grabber blue paint.
I don't remember seeing that - must be gone now!
@@TysonHugie Hopefully crushed
Number 1 inexpensive,I need to take a trip, looking for a 55 2door 150 Chevy, roller just enough to load it , it is going to be my rat rod hot rod type daily driver ok love this stuff , please show more ,thanks BigAl California.
I'll keep an eye out!
Love those dealership badges
I though that was pretty cool too.
Another one is located in maricopa called hidden valley auto parts
I'll have to check that out!
Hi, If you go back I'd sure like to see any Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon 4-door hatchbacks, 1978-90.
They're the ones that look like old VW Rabbits(Golf). In fact they had VW engines when they first came out.
Okay I'll keep an eye out for those!
jonandrew
LOL probably all have been crushed
All cars are a little new for me .I love the ones from the 1930s through the 1950s!
Not much left of those!
They have another yard with older cars, in Casa Grande.
What’s the euro car section like ?
Pretty non-existent actually
Finally somewhere worth the admission price!
Haha exactly!
Been to Phoenix four or five times never had a chance to get to the junkyard
Definitely gotta get over there.
Nice video, I remember the TV show back then.
I never did see it!
Tyson Hugie 😂
Great 👍 video nostalgic times thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is such a treat! It sucks how expendable vehicles become, especially those that were massed produced during the baby boom.
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!
Chev 65. Chevelle. ss would like to buy the hole car if price is right get finder fee please let me know if you dont mind thankyou 4 your time
None of these are mine. I'm just introducing TH-cam to a cool junkyard in my area. You might want to contact DVAP directly.
1:21 breaks my hart to see that 1971,1967 and 1964 thunderbirds
Good stuff.
I'm glad that this place exists.
Their TV show was barely watchable though.
I admit I never even saw a single episode.
@@TysonHugie Well, the guys in the show were obviously not actors and the production quality made the usual mistakes that many car guys hate in those shows...The manufactured drama, the ticking clock deadlines, the rivalries in the shop, etc.
Did you see any Li’l Red Express Trucks
I didn’t but I’d love to find one
Station wagons are very popular. Especially 2 door.
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out the other 2 videos I filmed at DVAP.
Didn’t catch any G Body’s I was hoping to see the line up of them
I'll keep an eye out for them next time!
They have alot of old cars but never return a email to if they have a part or not must be have to be local or drive there to get an answer
Yes they were very helpful at the front desk. Their instructions were to take a picture of anything that I needed and then they would pull it.
Did he have any 78 Buick Regal's??
I don't remember seeing any but I'll keep an eye out!
@@TysonHugie I went on the website and saw one 💙💜
The yellow car with the lighter in the back seat was a Chrysler New Yorker my mom had a new one when I was a kid
Good eye!
I would love to see 1970 thru 1972 Cutlass 442's and LeMans GTO's
I'll keep that in mind! Check out the other videos I have on DVAP too.
Last time I was there was 2004. It is a bit of a drive from NC.
It's probably changed a little bit in 16 years.
Any D50 dodge 4x4. 1980s..
Any type of engine transmission conversion adapter plates
Will keep an eye out for that!
