The tofu recipe seems to have come from someone who knows very little about cooking tofu. With tofu, it's all about how it is seasoned and or sauced. It should have been put back in the flour after the egg to get a crispier crust. Also potato starch would have been better than flour. With the recipe you found, you might as well have just eaten straight out of the package. It's no wonder that you didn't like it. It was an enjoyable video over all though.
I agree! We LOVE tofu! Use her popcorn chicken method for extra firm tofu after squeezing out the excess water and then drizzle with a good Asian sauce and serve with rice or lo mein...YUM!
Tofu is bland, you really need to add seasoning and sauces to it. I remember I hated tofu the first time I tried it. It was delicious after I made it myself, knowing what I was doing.
With the Tofu, I always set something heavy on it to squeeze more of the liquid out for about a half hour or so. Then do basically the same breading you did for the eggplant and dip it in pizza sauce. Also you may want to cut it like french fries in smaller pieces ;)
@@empoweredcooks You definitely have to remove more of the water in the tofu. Tofu also absorbs flavours so you can marinate it in teryaki, or other thin sauces you make yourself. ie; soya sauce, tahini, garlic, onion powder, maple syrup. Air fry until crispy. Yum!! There are tons of air fryer tofu recipes, that turn out really really good!
When it comes to tofu I use paper towels (2 on top, 2 underneath) and gently squish the water out. It takes several paper towels to get a lot of the moisture out. (I know there are better ways). Dipping it in smoked sesame oil and breading them in corn starch before air frying might be good. Fabulessly Frugal I hope you don’t give up on tofu. 😁
I don't think I'm a tofu person the one and only time I gave it a try with a recipe that showed me step by step prep, seasoning, everything, it still was nothing I liked. I really wanted to like it, but..nope..just no 😔
I was worried when the tofu wasn't drained. You definitely have to drain the tofu, as in on papertowels with something heavy on top to squish out the water and switch paper towels out when they are soaked!!! Worth a do over draining it first!!! Texture is everything, especially with tofu. We make tofu enough I bought a tofu presser to cut down on paper towel waste and effort on my parr. I love your videos!!!
I think it’s all about what and how you cook the tofu because it takes on the taste of whatever you are cooking it with. Definitely much smaller chunks and maybe even cook it with the eggplant with a sauce blend. I love those two cooked together. Thanks for the recipes, they look great 👍🏼
I'm growing eggplant this year SO am happy you did this. I must try these recipes. The tofu segment was too funny! You did better than my first try at tofu. You must drain the tofu and it really helps improve the texture if you place in the freezer overnight. Just place it in a Ziplock plastic bag. Next day allow to thaw and remove excess moisture by wrapping it in a tea towel or several paper towels. Then you need a marinade sauce for the tofu to absorb flavors. 1 T Tamari sauce, 2 T unseasoned rice wine vinegar, 1 T toasted sesame oil, 1 T Garlic powder, 1 T onion powder, 2 T sesame seeds, 2 T maple syrup, 1 T lemon juice. Cut the tofu into smaller cubes so they absorb more marinade. Save excess marinade for dipping and no coating needed (unless you prefer). Continue to be brave and try new vegetables!! Love your channel and your book.
I cut my tofu up pretty small-about 1/2 inch cubes and pour chicken broth or miso and sometimes orange juice mixed with soy sauce and bake until the cubes are no longer really soft and slimy. This gives the tofu a better texture in my opinion-I do not like things too soft or slimy. The tofu turns out kind of crispy on the outside and the inside is firm and it takes on the flavor of the liquid that I use. I stir fry these small pieces with veggies so you might be able to use them in the chicken and frozen veggies recipe and I also use them in soup. You might want to try again and see if you like it cut up smaller. :)
For Tofu, you have to cut them up much smaller. About 1\2 cubes. I make stir fry out of them with soy sauce. It really makes a big difference. Its all in the seasoning. Love ur videos!!!
I absolutely LOVE YOU! You're fun and have great ideas! You make it easy!! I just received my air fryer and have tried 3 of your recipes - they were a hit with my family! THANK YOU!!!!!

I love your recipes and the way you do you, like my kids say. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I started doing keto (with portion control) and mostly intermittent fasting, when I don't forget to breakfast late. Here's how I figured out how to do baked squash/zucchini: Slice a squash kind of thick, maybe 3/8". Spread on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly drizzle with olive or avocado oil. Sprinkle with salt and Italian herbs and put a pinch of Parmesan cheese on each piece. In my little air fryer, I bake it at 360° for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese melts and browns. In a regular oven, probably bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes. Here's another yummy keto breakfast: Inside Out Omelet. It's for 1 serving but you can likely do 3 servings in a regular sized pan. Sprinkle on seasonings and salt. Cover and cook until egg is set, a couple of minutes or so. Fold in half and serve. You've given me such nice recipes, I wanted to return the favor. ❤
With the tofu the most important thing is to drain the water really well. I cut mine in cubes and spray them with olive oil. I add spices, soy sauce and sprinkle with a little corn starch. 400 for 10 min. Sorry you didn’t like it on your video, but the whole thing with the egg wash is 😫. Tofu is an acquired taste and can be made in so many different ways. It doesn’t have any flavor, that’s why you need to add aminos to give it flavor. I do enjoy your videos very much! 5 ⭐️
Love you videos! They’ve been so helpful since we bought an air fryer just a couple weeks ago. I would LOVE if you could do a “grocery list” for air fryer cooking! I think that would be super helpful & interesting 🙌🏼🥰
Wow, thank you. Crazy thing happened and our fridge and stove got fried. Squirrels chewed through the cable holding the power line to our house sending a power surge through our house. Well, we replaced the fridge first. We bought a BIG air fryer. Loving this thing and looking for recipes. We cooked a pork loin in it last night(it was perfect). We might not ever replace the stove! Now I have to go get some eggplant because I really like it and can’t wait to play with the air fryer again.
Wow Janet, what a crazy thing to happen! I am glad you are loving the air fryer life! You are spot on... I can't think of the last time I used my oven!
You need to drain the tofu then blot with paper towels. Cut in through the middle then into cubes. So, then you’d have 24 pieces. The tofu itself doesn’t have much flavor. If you had added some sauce, like teriyaki, it takes on that flavor. I did like your chicken and veggies and eggplant recipe. So I’ll try them.
Try sweet potatoe frys! Cut them all equally lightly coat with oil (I use EVOO) then lightly dust with salt, pepper, garlic powder paprika then cook at 380F for 12 minutes shaking at the 6 minute mark! Yum 😋
Just bought an airfryer so, as a vegetarian, so happy you trying eggplant and tofu. Tofu actually takes on the flavour of other things so very useful. I am very happy to have found you to demystify my fryer standing on the counter unused. Greetings from NZ and many thanks.
I loves tofu but haven't cooked it much. I think the whole block should have been cut in half horizontally and then cubed (which would've made 24 cubes). Tofu can be quite tasty but cooking it comes with a learning curve, but I might try this recipe.
I am really loving your videos because they are getting me to use our air fryer 😊 I just made the Chicken & Vegetables which I loved-- my other 2 family members (picky adult & child) unfortunately did not. I will definitely keep trying some of your other recipes and remain hopeful. Thank you!!!
Watched this with the kids, they loved it😃! I eat these foods regularly since I’m a vegetarian! Tofu’s one of my favorites, but it definitely has to be cooked right or it just tastes bland, lol 😂! Enjoyed this, thanks for sharing ❤️!
LOL - thank you! I have been corrected and advised of better ways to prepare the tofu prior to cooking! I'm just not sure I am brave enough to give it another go! lol
Kathy I love love love your videos I go back to them time and time again. I got my air fryer for Christmas and you have made it so easy to use I appreciate you I appreciate your time thank you. Peggy
I was cringing as you took a bite of tofu because I knew it would taste bad because it was unseasoned! Best to press the liquid out of tofu, marinate for 30 mins, and use corn starch before air frying. 😀
Do you have a link to your new oil sprayer? I’m new to air frying (this week) and I’m not thrilled with the oil sprayer I have. It sprays in a thin stream. A nice mist would be great!! Yours looks like it sprays well. Thank you. 😃
I'm new to tofu also but I find pressing the block in towels or paper towels with a heavy object first for like 15 to 30 minutes is best. You want it super dry so it's not mushy when cooked. Also smaller bites. Marinade helps also. If done right tofu takes on the texture of meat and the neutral taste takes on the seasoning. I hate mushy tofu the texture is the problem
Question- if you are making these recipe is for your large family (like the chicken and stir fry for example), do you have to do multiple batches? I am thinking one batch only serves 2-3 people? P.s I found your channel because I borrowed my mom’s air fryer to test and see if I want to purchase one. I searched TH-cam for recipes and found your channel. I love your videos! And I am pretty much sold on getting an air fryer. I have a family of 5.
Tofu is basically tasteless. Hard tofu needs to be pressed to remove excess moisture & then marinated for at least 1 hour before being blasted on a grill or in an oven or air fryer (or deep fried). Look up how to press tofu (basically wrapping it in towels & then putting a chopping board with something weighted on top to gently squeeze the water out) then look up tofu marinades. Soft aka silky tofu is good for desserts.
Try the tofu again but follow the comments below. Weigh with a heavy plate to remove a lot of the moisture. Season the heck out of it before breading or marinate. You should try cooking with some sir fry veggies🙂. There's a learning curve, I'm still learning 😆. The crisper the better!
I LOOOOVE eggplant!! It's a wonderful substitute for meat if you're a Veghead!! I love making my own spice mixes and putting it in a shaker bottle, so I shake it on everything I cook. Sometimes I use the store bought dry seasoning packets for Ranch and Italian dressing. I use the Ranch for stews and casseroles. I use the Italian for roasted veggies. Although you can do either or......or mix them up!! I just put some oil or melted butter in a large ziplock baggie, throw in my veggies and/or meat and shake it up! Then when everything is coated, I put in the spices, zip it up again and shake shake shake!!! Then I dump it in a small baking dish and stick in my AF!! This also works for AF ovens!!! You can add bread crumbs if you want a little crunch to it!! This also works on tofu! Tofu is like a sponge........if you drain it for about an hour, or press it in a towel to squeeze out most of the water from it, you can marinate it in just about any kind of sauce or marinade you want overnight. Or just use a dry rub on it. Tofu is tricky too......but when done right, it is really good.
I literally turn to your page (which always makes it fun and easy to learn new recipes) when I have an air fryer question or need great recipes - I love that your Sous-chef is your daughter - adorable 🙏🏻❤️💋
Compare oil sprayers on an episode. I have the Misto, looking at the Evo oil sprayer and then the one you used here, the Mistifi oil sprayer. Misto works great but I don't like having to let the pressure out after use. Love my new Corsori CP385.
I love these ideas! I never tried eggplant in the air fryer.I cook sweet patatos very often in there but I leave the peel on. First it's easer and faster hehe but it has a lot of benefits. The eggplant shrank because it's mostly liquid and when you cook it, it dries a bit.
@@empoweredcooks you should have cut the tofu into pieces like the eggplant. And squeeze out the liquid not just poured it off. And made a marinade for it. And used panko and flour. You have to put it in a marinade to give it flavor. Not sure where you are getting your reciep's but you might want to do more research.
So I just made the eggplant bites! I keto styled them using almond flour and topped them with some marina sauce and mozzarella! They are wonderful! Thank you so much for this simple but tasty recipe, I had been dying for eggplant parmigiana!
I like to just pan fry it with butter and they crisp up really good if they are firm cuz they have the firm tofu and I just love it but I could try it in the air fryer.....
Had a Chinese friend who told me tofu is a canvas and can become whatever you want it to be; when made by those experienced with it, it is delicious. I would encourage you to order your favorite dish (flavors) from a Chinese restaurant, only with tofu. Give it a try/second chance! Also, lightly salt eggplant to get the bitter taste out (seeds contain nicotine that gives a bitter taste). It "sweats" out and you need to dab the water with a paper towel to "remove the bitters" (according to my Italian MIL). Male eggplants have less seeds and are therefore less bitter. The end of the eggplant will tell you if male or female. A female has like a dash on the end, a male has more of a circle. You are my expert for this new cooking adventure, Air Fryer edition, but I just wanted to share a tweak for this oft-avoided eggplant meal that is so yummy once you play with it a little.
Kathy or anyone😃,,,, Do you have a link for pyrex or cook wear that fits the Cosori ?? Not the accessories i need dish for potatoes!!! Im having hard time finding ones to fit?? Thank you🙏
Do you have a Costco? The set I love is on sale there right now! And the glass dishes all fit in my Cosori nicely! It's the snapware Pyrex set ($5 off).
I've never had tofu, though I have some in the frig. It's supposed to be plain, so the sauce/spice makes all the difference. You had neutral stuff on it and then dipped it in soy sauce, which I don't like. Not surprised you didn't like it.
Agree with the comments about tofu. It's fantastic if done correctly. Also, there are different consistencies of tofu that will produce vastly different results. It's no wonder that you did't like this recipe. That's not how to make tofu. Kudos to you for trying it for the first time, but you really need to research into how it's really used. Love the channel, btw!
I like it, that you sometimes also DON'T like something or mess it up... it's sort of encouraging for me and makes me feel like talking to a friend rather than a tudor ;-)
Hey Cathy I'm with you on the Tofu! Yuck. It's not for me. 😂 I've got one for you. Crispy fully coated Airfryer okra. I've read about cornstarch and panko. But I don't like to use cornstarch period. (It's so bad for you) I use a beer batter for regular fried okra and shrimp but that kind of batter doesn't work in an Airfryer. I loved your taquito recipe. I love taquitos! I don't like the store bought kind.
I’m vegan and I eat a lot of tofu! I didn’t like it at first! Now I eat it like 3 times a week as my protein. It really is a matter of finding the right recipe. I buy super firm tofu because it doesn’t have to be pressed and the protein is higher. Another thing I do is poke holes in it while it’s marinating in the fridge. It’s like a sponge and it will soke up a lot of marinade. I’m 46 also, I say give it another try lol!
I would like to see more easy snacks like the chick peas. I'm happy I watched this. I have an egg plant in the fridge just for EPP. But I was going to do it sliced. Also I don't know if it makes a difference but after they sit longer with salt on them you are supposed to take a paper towel and squeeze some of the water out of them, that's the point of letting them sit with salt on them.
Thanks for the tip on the egg plant. I know people have done the traditional eggplant parmesan in the air fryer... Just need to cook a little bit longer! Let me know how it goes!
So far I am liking it and have had no issues! But I have only used it for a few weeks. A little more expensive than the Misto, but I do like the control this one has. amzn.to/3bKmX5S
OMG ! Terrific thanks for the ideas 💡! I love sweet potato 🍠. Yay 😀 , I’m tofu lover You have to leave it marinated in soy sauce to absorb the salty flavor. Mexican style Tofu: Crumble the tofu, onion, tomato, jalapeño, a little turmeric, salt and pepper, stir it all together and it tastes delicious. ✌🏼 I hope and one day you will make the recipe. Greetings from California. Beautiful girl 👧🏼
Try homemade mozzarella sticks I think your kids and you would love cheese sticks flour seasoning egg wash and breadcrumbs or panko freeze 20 minutes Spray with oil airfry 400 for about 10 minutes check after 5
I tried the eggplant recipe in my air fryer. I usually do my eggplant in slices not cubes, but the recipe is essentially the same. In the oven it takes at least 30 to 45 minutes for the eggplant to cook so that it is soft and creamy. I love my air fryer. 12 minutes and they were done.
Just found your channel and love you and your daughter! I basically use my AF for chicken wings. I definitely will try the sweet potato and chicken w/ veggies dish!
My Mom used to make us egg plant often in the summer, and she would peel, salt then rinse. She said it helped with the bitterness. She would dip in egg and then in crushed corn flakes then fry on a griddle. I bet it would work in the air fryer as well. She slice them really thin and leave them in the round form. It was yummy for sure.
If you’ve gone out to eat at an Asian restaurant you may have had tofu and not know you were eating it, that’s what happened to me, and I’d always say I don’t know what this is but I really like it, once I found out what it was I still like it, but have no clue how to prepare it. I’m willing to try though. I have a son who has been a vegan for about 10 years at least, cooks it frequently and enjoys it.
What a fun video! Thanks for bringing us along for this recipe adventure. I think that I will try the first three. I agree that the tofu attempt looked not very appetizing. I think tofu is more of a texture change-up thing. It doesn't generally have much flavour on its own, so I think it needs to be accompanied by really flavourful sauces and ingredients to be more palatable. Dunno, just my own thoughts. Anyhow, thanks so much for another fun, inspirational video.
You are so welcome! It was fun to try new things! And I have gotten a lot of good tips in the comments, but I still don't think I care to try it again. lol
Mornin Kathy So my first fail with my air fryer..I tried to do perogies in it ..and they turned out yukky..they never browned at all ..just got very hard..followed a recipe off the internet for frozen ones ..none turned out the way I thought they should…HELP ,lol ..have a great day
Hi Harry! I have yet to try frozen perogies! So sorry I can't help you this time! However, I do have it on my to do list... so if you don't mind waiting a little bit, I will have an answer for you! :)
I laughed out loud when I saw your reaction to tofu. I've never tried it either. Great video as always. Thank you. Curious what your thoughts are on the new oil sprayer? Do you have a link to the new one you are using?
Hi Tonyia! I have had a lot of tofu experts give me some tips for a better experience, so if you decide to give it a try, take their advice and not mine! And YES! So far I am liking the new sprayer... I want to give it more time before I really share it with everyone, but here is the link! amzn.to/3wv0TUR

I loves tofu but haven't cooked it much. I think the whole block should have been cut in half horizontally and then cubed (which would've made 24 cubes). Tofu can be quite tasty but cooking it comes with a learning curve, but I might try this recipe.
I just love you and your videos. My family appreciate you too. Thank you for making so fun to watch & yummy.
Thank you Aya! I do enjoy making them for you! Let me know if you have any questions?
I am really loving your videos because they are getting me to use our air fryer 😊
I just made the Chicken & Vegetables which I loved-- my other 2 family members (picky adult & child) unfortunately did not. I will definitely keep trying some of your other recipes and remain hopeful. Thank you!!!
Keep trying, @Molly Frank! I'm sure they will love one of them :) Thanks for watching!
I’ll definitely try the eggplant, but I’ll peel mine first cause sometimes the peel is tough and bitter. Thank you!
I'm just not sure I am brave enough to give it another go! lol
@@empoweredcooks Lol 😂! It is an acquired texture I feel like😆! I’m not sure where you live, but my local Wegmans cooks it perfectly 👌🏿!
Kathy I love love love your videos I go back to them time and time again. I got my air fryer for Christmas and you have made it so easy to use I appreciate you I appreciate your time thank you. Peggy
I ate tofu once. It tasted like I think my kitchen sponge would taste. Never again!! Your daughter’s reaction is so cute!
Barb! This is the funniest comment of the week! You described it well - lol! 😂😂😂
Your daughter is such a trooper trying all the new foods
I was cringing as you took a bite of tofu because I knew it would taste bad because it was unseasoned! Best to press the liquid out of tofu, marinate for 30 mins, and use corn starch before air frying. 😀
Do you have a link to your new oil sprayer? I’m new to air frying (this week) and I’m not thrilled with the oil sprayer I have. It sprays in a thin stream. A nice mist would be great!! Yours looks like it sprays well. Thank you. 😃
I have links to everything in the description box. :)
Thank you Jason... I'm def not a tofu pro... but I am not sure that I care to be one! lol
Your little helper is so precious!
Thanks for the tips!
Wow! Such excellent tips! Thank you! ❤️
Love your channel and trying all these things in my new Cosori, l love it!
Wonderful! pleas do more whit frosen wegetable. Maby like whitch frosen wegetabel is the best. super thanks for a lovely video/ Nina from Sweden
Hi Nina! I for sure will! I do have some frozen veggies in this one: th-cam.com/video/yE2EYk6eMSo/w-d-xo.html
Love this. I’ve had eggplant parm in a restaurant but I’ve never cooked it. I love how you cooked it. Can’t wait to try!
Wow ! Healthy and looks delicious. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! :)
I literally turn to your page (which always makes it fun and easy to learn new recipes) when I have an air fryer question or need great recipes - I love that your Sous-chef is your daughter - adorable 🙏🏻❤️💋
Thank you Lisa! ❤
Good tips Mariam, thank you!
I 🤣🤣🤣 with the tofu!!! You’re too funny!!! Love how honest you are. Glad I got turned on to your page!!! Have to buy that air fryer!!
lol - thanks Janet!
🤢
@@empoweredcooks you should have cut the tofu into pieces like the eggplant. And squeeze out the liquid not just poured it off.
And made a marinade for it.
And used panko and flour.
You have to put it in a marinade to give it flavor.
Not sure where you are getting your reciep's but you might want to do more research.
The tofu needs pressing and marinating, too bad we missed out on seeing a good tofu recipe.
The eggplant is soooo good. Thanks for the recipe!
Hi! I love all your videos 💕 Where could I buy that new oil sprayer used in the sweet potato cubes recipe? Thank you in advance 😘.
Hello! Right here! amzn.to/3ehdvc7
Kathy, you are awesome and your videos rock! Beautiful daughter also.
I’ll skip the tofu but will definitely try the other 3 recipes.
Thank you Adele! 😂😘
I love that you were honest about the tofu:)
😍just trying to keep it real around here! lol
So I just made the eggplant bites! I keto styled them using almond flour and topped them with some marina sauce and mozzarella! They are wonderful! Thank you so much for this simple but tasty recipe, I had been dying for eggplant parmigiana!
Yay! I'm glad you loved them :)
Totally with you on your opinions. Dislike tofu but love eggplant! And your little helper there was so adorable! ❤️
Ha ha, thanks Amy! She is a hoot!
I like to just pan fry it with butter and they crisp up really good if they are firm cuz they have the firm tofu and I just love it but I could try it in the air fryer.....
Your little girl is so pretty n sweet! Bless her. The recipes look good. No tofu thank you but all other recipes 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
😂 You'll love the other three!
Try making the tofu like the eggplant parmesan. Or use teriyaki sauce. Skip the egg and flour.
Thank you for that tip! I *almost* ordered some tofu at a restaurant last weekend, but chickened out. :) I will give it a try soon though. :)
@@empoweredcooks Thank you😁
I've never had tofu, though I have some in the frig. It's supposed to be plain, so the sauce/spice makes all the difference. You had neutral stuff on it and then dipped it in soy sauce, which I don't like. Not surprised you didn't like it.
I’ve recently been told to freeze the tofu, defrost and cook.
Lots of great tips in the comments here!
Great vid Cathy. A lot of people eat eggplant as a replacement for red meat because it's high content of protein.
Yes, I read there are a lot of great benefits! I'm glad we liked it! :)
@@empoweredcooks Hey Cathy, you need to have your husband take you to a real Italian restaurant and have some real Eggplant Parmesan. Enjoy.😋
@@joesmith4222 😂OK I will tell him you said so!
I love your channel, and your honesty. Love the "10000 thumbs up""!
I think I will need to try it again 😅 Thanks for your support Tom!
I like it, that you sometimes also DON'T like something or mess it up... it's sort of encouraging for me and makes me feel like talking to a friend rather than a tudor ;-)
Thank you Ruth! ❤
The trick is to cut smaller cubes and season with your fav seasonings. Then not dip in soy sauce. Would taste much better.
Thanks Jean. :)
You help me try new things in the airfryer thanks a bunch
You are welcome!
Thanks for the tips :) Maybe, I'll try it again 😅
I would like to see more easy snacks like the chick peas.
I'm happy I watched this. I have an egg plant in the fridge just for EPP. But I was going to do it sliced.
Also I don't know if it makes a difference but after they sit longer with salt on them you are supposed to take a paper towel and squeeze some of the water out of them, that's the point of letting them sit with salt on them.
Thanks for the tip on the egg plant. I know people have done the traditional eggplant parmesan in the air fryer... Just need to cook a little bit longer! Let me know how it goes!
You can make eggplant lasagna or eggplant slices mini pizza always top it with basil so good
وصفاتك رائعة ..شكرا من القلب💕
😍شكرا جزيلا لك
Could you provide the link to the oil sprayer bottle and indicate if you like it. I tried the misto but didn’t like it at all with the pump thing.
So far I am liking it and have had no issues! But I have only used it for a few weeks. A little more expensive than the Misto, but I do like the control this one has. amzn.to/3bKmX5S
Oh dear I was excited for tofu - I had it fried and it was delicious 😋
very important question, How do you clear the Air fryer from inside, because some of seasing flies and catch the fan and upper part of the air fryer?
I'll have to try it! Thanks!
Try homemade mozzarella sticks I think your kids and you would love cheese sticks flour seasoning egg wash and breadcrumbs or panko freeze 20 minutes Spray with oil airfry 400 for about 10 minutes check after 5
OK thank you! I will give this a try! So you freeze the sticks AFTER you coat?
I tried the eggplant recipe in my air fryer. I usually do my eggplant in slices not cubes, but the recipe is essentially the same. In the oven it takes at least 30 to 45 minutes for the eggplant to cook so that it is soft and creamy. I love my air fryer. 12 minutes and they were done.
That is sooo awesome!
wow ! Looks delicious!! what brand is your spray bottle?
Hi Veronica! The one I am using is a Mistifi Oil Sprayer. So far, I really like it! amzn.to/3ehdvc7
@@empoweredcooks Tks !!! I bought a pair from VHOME... they dont really spray the oil :(
@@VeronicaGarcia-fg3ss ah, boo! You might like the one I'm enjoying!
A great healthy lunch I love in the sir fryer is roasted potatoes & butternut squash. Easy, Healthy & Filling!
Oh that sounds wonderful! I'll have to get that on my list!
Just found your channel and love you and your daughter! I basically use my AF for chicken wings. I definitely will try the sweet potato and chicken w/ veggies dish!
Welcome, Jodie! You'll love those!
Could you please tell me the brand of the sprayer and where can I buy it ??
Yep! Mistifi amzn.to/3ehdvc7
@@empoweredcooks thank you so much.
I’d peel the egg plant, cube then salt, and rinse off after about 3-5 min to get rid of some of the moisture from the egg plant.
Oh interesting... I did all of that but rinse off. Do you pat it dry after rinsing?
@@empoweredcooks yes, dry it
My Mom used to make us egg plant often in the summer, and she would peel, salt then rinse. She said it helped with the bitterness. She would dip in egg and then in crushed corn flakes then fry on a griddle. I bet it would work in the air fryer as well. She slice them really thin and leave them in the round form. It was yummy for sure.
@@debihediger4760 that sounds good! Similar to what my mom did with zucchini!
Great recipes. I was wondering would I be able to put raw cubed up potatoes with the chicken and veggie dish you made in this video?
That will work fine! Just make sure your chicken is all the way cooked :)
@@empoweredcooks thank you. Love your videos
You and your sous-chef are so fun to watch. Thank you for always keeping it real 👍
😂😍I love that! I should get her an apron with that title on it. lol - Thanks Alana! I am 100% about keeping it real!
And I have gotten a lot of good tips in the comments, but I still don't think I care to try it again. lol
Thanks for the shout out! I told you that Mistifi sprayer works really well...
Woo hoo!
Did you thaw the veggies for the chicken?
Love sweet potato, going to try it
I agree with both of you on the tofu LOL Your daughter is adorable. Love and blessings to you and your family
🙂✌🦋💜
Thank you Kathy! Yours as well! ❤
Mornin Kathy
So my first fail with my air fryer..I tried to do perogies in it ..and they turned out yukky..they never browned at all ..just got very hard..followed a recipe off the internet for frozen ones ..none turned out the way I thought they should…HELP ,lol ..have a great day
Hi Harry! I have yet to try frozen perogies! So sorry I can't help you this time! However, I do have it on my to do list... so if you don't mind waiting a little bit, I will have an answer for you! :)
Thanks Kathy ..have a great day
I laughed out loud when I saw your reaction to tofu.
Yes you picked good one I even roast hole eggplant in air fryer
Tofu should be crispy. Dipping should be soy sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper and a lil bit of chili. It's very healthy
I love your videos!
I struggle to find good frozen veggie bags but that one looked great! What brand was it? I’m in Seattle WA so hopefully can get it here
Great Value
Bell is right - it is the Great Value brand (from Walmart). The blend is Broccoli Stir-Fry!
I've never ate tofu either ..what did it tast like ??? Explain please
Another great video! Your little taste tester is absolutely adorable! 😊
Thanks so much! 😊She loves being in the vids. lol
