A genius on the violin. Absolutely heaven on earth. I love the beautiful little smile Alice shows at the end of the introduction. As if she knows the glorious treat that follows. And the lovely little smile on Elena the cello player too near the end of the video. When you've got exquisite talent like this you can afford such smiles.

@@ErikArenSchroeder C'est tout le le problème de beaucoup de soi-disant violonistes baroques qui, en l'absence de mentonnière, calent leur violon en "collant" le menton sur la caisse de résonance, ce qui crée une sourdine et fait que le violon ne "sonne" pas.
@Daniel Turban Non, certainement on peut faire ça, mais il y a des techniques différentes avec la main gauche pour changer quand on joue "sans le menton" (pour allez dans les positions hautes c'est pas un problem, mais descendre est un peu plus difficile). Plus tard dans le 18ème siècle, lorsque la musique pour le violon est devenue plus difficile, il était plus fréquent de jouer "avec le menton", mais vraiment ça ne crée pas une "sourdine". Comment penses-tu on a peut jouer le concert de Beethoven, ou un concert comme ça de Thomas Linley, sans une mentonnière?
Molto bello musicalmente...ma ha eliminato la variazione più difficile per il violino, contando sul fatto che questo brano non è molto conosciuto. Nessuno lo farebbe mai in un opera di Beethoven, Mozart o Brahms. Se non si è capaci di eseguire un pezzo, sarebbe più dignitoso suonare qualcosa di più facile.

I always return to this rendition. I don't know, but it so much soothes the heart.
It is simple why : Because this is an excellent baroque violin with gut strings. Not horrible classical violin with screaming metal strings.
