Daniel, what you and Pablo have achieved here is really 'other-worldly' ... as though you were both touching the stars as you were transported away! I come back here so often and find the hidden message in these notes so PROFOUND ... I send the piece on to all the disturbed people I know; they all write back and tell me how it soothed them so much!

The music is absolutely spellbinding. Daniel and Pablo bringing us gifts from times afar. However, what fascinated me almost as much as the music itself was Pablo’s usage of a microtonal fret he has inserted just above the first fret, presumably to make his major thirds more resonant. Almost an insight into the ear of such a fantastic player.

Bravo à tous les deux !! J'adore ! vous servez magnifiquement l'esprit de la chaconne (diminutions plus ou moins improvisées), et de la musique baroque en général ! Une question : Pablo s'est-il fâché avec son luthier ? Car il ferait mieux de faire appel à lui plutôt que de mettre du scotch et de la colle partout sur son archiluth, ça fait "crados" !!! 🤣 (c'est à cause de ce dernier mot que je suis resté en français) - mais c'était une boutade : sur mon précédent luth les frettes tenaient avec des cure-dents !
Haha ! Merci beaucoup! Je dois dire que le scotch de mon frère sur le l'instrument est pour les frettes. Dans certains cas, il corrige la hauteur et dans d'autres, il ajoute une petite frette supplémentaire pour l'accordage du tempérament. Salutations!

Are those microtonal frets i see on the archlute?
In Early Music we use different temperaments according with the context of the piece so we adjust the frets to be as close as possible to that tuning
