- Making my first ever ROBLOX game since the ROBLOX front page is cluttered with brainrot, wait in line, RNG gambling clicker anime game simulators.
The new ROBLOX game I'm making is called AVIARY, in which you explore the many islands in the world to discover new species of birds, each with many different hidden mutations. It's a chill, work-at-your-own pace grindy game with a bit of a plot line and level progression system. Collect nets, skins and hats and make friends along the way! Heavily inspired by Fisch and Pokemon.

I love this game idea, I always wanted to make a relaxing game like this where you "catch" something or "rescue" it. More like a simulator but not really. I dont know where to start!
Haha! Start with one island and the ideas start flowing from there. Heck, even start with a single house. Then a mailbox, then a lamp, and then a road. World building takes time! In terms of scripting watch through TheDevKing’s scripting tutorials and you’ll pick it up over time 🥹

Looks absolutely stunning by but there is one thing I would change. I feel like it would be cooler for the birds to have an energy bar instead of a health bar to make it not feel like you are killing the bird. Otherwise the game looks great!

Amazing job for your first game!!! I've been a roblox builder for a while and some tips I highly recommend is that when you want to improve more and continue devving 100% learn Blender and softwares that assist with it!! Using unions and parts solely kill optimization a lot as a lot of builders I have ranked for Discord servers use only unions and parts but their builds are super duper laggy for both pc and mobile. All the little details you can make on roblox with unions can be done 10x faster and optimized with Blender or any other 3rd party software; houdini, maya, etc. Blender also helps a lot with animation as imo animating on there is a lot faster and easier after you get use to it. Your process was super good especially you realizing that maps shouldn't be flat as a lot of builders are still struggling with realizing that! I am very impressed by your work in just a week congrats!!!

hey no hate just here to debunk some things: unions sure, roblox is still working on optimizing them and they are the main reason of "lag" and you're right that they should be minimized or not used at all (meshes definitely fill that role). but parts are VERY optimized, especially blocks and wedges, even more so than meshes if you take into account that each mesh id creates a call. using a mix of both parts and meshes are the way to go for the most optimized & aesthetically pleasing games.
@@masterthaxx1630 Main reason I said parts and unions are because most people will use parts and union them over time! Although they are more optimized because of the little detail they do have people tend to use larger amount of parts to create details which in turn over time will affect performance, meshes definitely aren't 100% needed but from personal experience are wayyy more efficient to use over parts and unions. I agree with using both parts and meshes for sure if you are going for the classic styled game, I never use parts as I do stylized and realistic maps lol

Peak! I subbed cuz I wanted to see more of this. Roblox is really "Unlimited games but no games" after all. I am solo devving a roblox game rn about ascending a large mountain. It'll be an adventure game. Started yesterday and already got quite some stuff done. Hopefully more fun games appear on roblox 1 day and it isn't just a bland brainrot simulator for kids

This looks sick! Great job with the atmosphere and I love the idea of the 4 seasons. I'm a decently experienced builder (few years), and I'd recommend you make a few more assets such as fallen logs, flowers, or fruits to make the greenery a little more detailed. Just some advice, still looks great w the wind

Just a little heads up.. for animations, make them a bit more dynamic. animate the legs and torso to make it a bit more realistic! Other than that, the game looks amazing. Keep it up and the game will come out perfectly.

@ yeah definitely use forums! And chatGPT is super helpful if you’re lost - but take what it says with a grain of salt coz it gets things wrong. But it does give u a good skeleton!

it looks really cool!!! visually, i think you can improve with the terrain as it looks quite bland (take some inspo from fisch, it utilizes terrain quite well)

I just discovered this channel. I agree with your view that games in Roblox is nothing full of brainrot and cash grabs like bro in Blox Fruits you have to spend $50 dollars to get the new dragon fruit like why would I buy that when I can buy god of war. Looking forward to more content.

Hey just a suggestion, i feel like you should make a genuine sustem when you catch a bird and a special animation to catch a bird and different types, im working on my own game aswell called retail rumble and im going through the same things your doing so i can help you anytime if you want(im working on the game all by myself 😭)

Theres lamps everywhere and it looks a bit repetitive on the map, maybe fireflies or some other light sources? Maybe moonlight?

beautiful work this most certainly deservers more likes and views my only feedback would be having a look at the scripts aswell if possible am really curious who files and scripts of large games are organized and written other than that, top tier content you've earned a sub

You could add a golden Goose which gives you more xp then a normal goose and it has a 20% chance of spawining
Yes! I've added a golden mutation to the birds that you can catch. They have a low spawn rate but look cool and are worth more!

So true that the target audience is kids while it offers a in depth easy to use editor which attracts a more adult audience.. to be fair i made some of the biggest breakthroughs in roblox studio by following some 9 year old's tutorial😂 so yea we need a experience which is wide enough for adults to get lost in and friendly and user friendly for kids, like a world that combines palworld with myth elements(psychological /mysterious puzzle game for example, or a backrooms/maze explorer with collectibles etc.

LOL, ngl so am I… but I do recommend watching TheDevKing’s scripting tutorials, they helped me a lot! It’s a lot to sit through but genuinely that’s the only way to learn so just force yourself to go through it. Also just copy scripts (type them out yourself) so you gradually learn the language!
