Aftershock is what got our family to visit this out-of-the way-park. Visiting here is like taking a trip back in time, not only because of certain rides, but also the super polite and wholesome people. Used to love Deja Vu at Magic Mountain. Aftershock has a 2-3 minute gap between when the riders exit and when they open the gates for the next group of riders. Not sure why they do that, but it provides enough time to walk around and get right back on the ride if the park isn't too busy. Also fun to ride corkscrew again for the first time in decades.
Deja Vu, the original(?) vertical lift boomerang from Magic Mountain, was a ride I cherished as a kid. I'll have to come to this park and re-ride one of my favorites.
I haven't been to Silverwood in a few years, it's a great place to spend the day, glad stunt pilot made it on the list. Silverwood is what the doctor would suggest just to have fun. I miss it. 😢
Leaving tomorrow. I have been back and forth whether to include Silverwood as it's so out of the way, but I decided I am going early on in the trip. See you all in September! I'll be logging in every night in hotel of course, when I am not too tired. Thanks for all the reviews Mike, it's been a great help in planning.
I remember at the 2009 Michigan state fair that was in Detroit (the last year) they had North American Midway Entertainment providing the rides and they had both the Fireball and their Freakout models, and I much preferred the Fireball.
Canobie Coaster would say: Number 4: SpinCycle. This is a very imposing frisbee from SBF Visa. It's 10 stories tall, but it looks even taller than that. Most frisbees focus on positive and negative Gs, but this ride takes a different approach. This one has a super slow and controlled rocking motion. While this designs out the airtime, you get some downright freaky hangtime over the top. You hang out of your seat for seconds at a time because of how slowly you invert. This is obviously great on the full revolutions, but it's similarly as cool when the build-up swings stall out. Meanwhile, the gondola continues spinning so you get some odd hangtime in all directions. And this is all paired with some nice visuals at odd angles. I know this ride... A) is for everyone. B) is not for everyone.
Seeing how they relocated Corkscrew and Aftershock, there was another coaster that they could've relocated which would've been perfect for this park and that was the former Greezed Lightnin' from Kentucky Kingdom. The reason why is because it was only one of the last remaining rides of its kind left in America, and because this park doesn't have a launch coaster. That ride would've taken care of that.
My ranking of the thrill rides from worst to best is: SpinCycle Corkscrew Timber Terror Panic Plunge Tremors Aftershock Stunt Pilot The placement of Tremors might be different had I ridden it in the afternoon
Ive actually heard Corkscrew is one of the smoothest Arrow coasters and I love the maintenance this park is giving it. Keeping it open for decades to come.
I went to Silverwood on Monday, and anyone who doesn't enjoy Corkscrew has ridden probably too many roller coasters. I rode it in the back row and that completely unassuming drop YANKED me downwards. It was honestly a fine ride, just keep your hands wedged between the restraints and your head/neck if you can. I did that and it saved my head any pain from banging.
@jordanwolfson8378 i hate when people say "rode to many roller coasters" about 4 years ago i rode it as my first roller coaster and sure yes it was fun but like cannobie coaster said its not smooth AT all and hurts

Canobie Coaster 28.9K subscribers Hello, my name is Jamie Olberding, but everybody calls me Jamie. I'm from Iowa....... And...... Just to be clear........ I really really really am NOT a fan of riding big, SCARY, Roller Coasters and other terrifying rides! Have you ever been to either Adventure-land amusement park and also the Iowa State Fair (both are located in Altoona/Des Moines, Iowa), as well as Arnold's Park (which I have yet to visit)?
@@CanobieCoaster Well..... You just so happened to miss out on the Iowa State Fair this year, but don't worry there's always next year. You'll just have to wait until August (The Iowa State Fair is open on August 10th to August 20th). Also make sure you visit the Fair on Days when it's not too hot, and always get up early and get there before 8:30 AM in the morning (so as to avoid huge crowds). Plus, you'll need to be careful as to where you park.
I honestly have Aftershock as my personal least favorite in the park...purely because of how temperamental it is. It sucks when you go there and you're so excited to ride the thing, but it's 62 degrees instead of 65, for example, or the wind is 2mph over their threshold so the ride is closed. It's a great and very rare coaster model, but maybe they're rare for a reason. I want a coaster I know I can ride many times.
Silverwood sucks, last time I was there staff abused me, yelled at me, threatened to have me arrested and said “you’re on private property, we can do whatever we want to you” in the context of physical violence
@@talkingweevil3172 i tried to scare one of the scarers, like walked up behind him and yelled, not super loudly, not in a mean way, just like a, maybe I’ll scare him kind of way. Mind you that there is nothing posted about not doing that, literally nothing anywhere on their website or on their property. Then I was chewed out by the lady that said the above things in my original post. She took my picture and said that if I do anything else at silverwood, they’ll kick me out. Then when me and my friends are leaving, she literally yells at me and says something super snarky (I don’t remember exactly what) then the above interaction happened.
@@Vitamin_jp Well that is unreasonable! but it sounds like it was the fault of one lady. I do think most people should be aware that it’s rude and not acceptable to scare the scarers but the consequence should not be threatening you, especially considering they don’t have signs posted abt it. I’m very sorry that happened.
Also because they didn't alter the trains like with the other models, beside the intentions of the other two versions that's trains got changed and completely diminished the ride experience. (From what I hear.)

Spin cycle was nuts. I’ve always been a fan of North American Midway Entertainment’s “Fireball” but this was insane.
The hangtime is crazy.

What colors are the trains and restraints on Tremors and Timber Terror?
Blue and green.
why do you prefer stunt pilot over aftershock
I like airtime based rides and it's more comfortable.
How much are the tickets for 4 people I plan on going
It's roughly $60 per adult.
Ok thanks
I’m going to Spokane in 4 days and in 5 days I’m going to Silverwood but it’s a six hour drive it’s gonna be hell😭
It's worth it.
What would you rate Tremors? Why?
See my review.
They should add an RMC Museum to the park
That would be cool.
5:10 wow thats me in the all black!!!
"Decent sized waterfall" as it hits me haha!
Yup!
The new ride is called eagle hunt it is the biggest ride in the water park it is one or two water slides that are green
Looks like a great ride!
0:50 I love some good magician show. :D
Im a fan of the masked magician, if anyone remembered that show in tv :D
The show here is awesome.
Those are my kids on the log ride!! 😂
Nice!
putting aftershock at 5 is crazy. I dont think panic plunge is top 5
Aftershock is good, just some stuff I prefer.
i’ve commented this on another video, but i’m extremely lucky to live about 15-30 minutes away, i’m not exactly sure
Nice!
im 5 from it :)
