    "don't just move thweight, contract the muscles". best thing I've heard in a long time. This is body building, not strength training.

      ***** I train full body three days a week. I don't increase my weight until I get 20 reps on every set. It built me an incredible physique. Splits are a joke for optimal muscle gain. Thanks for your input.

      ***** What kind of rep ranges do you incorporate in your workouts? Do you vary from one workout to the next or do you stick with the same rep ranges week after week?

    • @irs2k3
      @irs2k3 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should vary between strength training 3-6 reps and hypertrophy training 8-12 and high rep training15-20. So play on these each week

    I know there will be idiots who say "why is he doing such light weight? why is this so hard for him".
    The dude just did 8 sets on bench press while contracting his chest as much as he can. Go to the gym and do that and see how you feel lol

  • @Jeep2004
    @Jeep2004 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    On that first movements, I'm wondering how to do it without negatively stressing your rotator cuff? Doesn't feel right.

  • @starlightengramA
    @starlightengramA 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I find that by breathing 'out-of-synch' with my movements through a hard set helps to charge me with oxygen better if I am simply breathing wildly. What I mean is I am panting and gulping to simply inhale and expell as much atmosphere as possible in the period, and for several seconds before I go into loaded exercises. That is I precharge my Oxygen saturation going into demand. It sure cuts the burn and stasis, and increases my functional time on the benches. The worst thing to do in this is to hold the breath and stress against a closed windpipe, though this might be good for anaerobic cycle.

  • @conorobriencoaching
    @conorobriencoaching 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    is there any reason why his shoulders aren't depressed?

    • @markdelej
      @markdelej 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because on incline it is harder to depress your shoulders and 2 his is super fatigued from so much chest sets that his delts are trying to take over. Even his muscles for depressing are fatigued

    This looks like an exercise that needs to be very controlled to protect your shoulder joints. (the first exercise)

    • @Jeep2004
      @Jeep2004 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely thinking the same thing. I'm doing this on the gym right now and using 15's and still feel too much stress on shoulder joints. I may go down to 10's. But I think being very mindful is the key and knowing when to stop that eccentric portion before it's uncomfortable.

  • @magnusjohnson6701
    @magnusjohnson6701 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why does this guy let his elbows flare out that much when doing bench press?? I thought it was not correct and could hurt the shoulder joint that way.... can anyone explain it a little bit to me plz

    • @kyrie4451
      @kyrie4451 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Magnus Johnson maybe 3 years too late, but the pecs perform shoulder flexion (arms up) and shoulder horizontal adduction (horizobtally bring arms to the middle). Elbows out allows you to focus on horizobtal adduction. The weight is light enough that risk of injury is low.

  • @JuicedMoose
    @JuicedMoose 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    So are these videos filmed on Sunday night an hour before close or what? This looks like such an awesome gym but in every video its empty. I would give my left nut to train in a almost empty gym. I can't even follow my MI40 in my gyms because at any time of the day there are 100 people in them. (no making this up) The program calls for certain machines, benches, and cables but no way you can use them unless you want to wait and fight for equipment.

    • @Tibialstone7
      @Tibialstone7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know he has degrees and great experience + qualifications, but that is ridiculous. Muscle building isn't complicated, the only reason people over complicate it is either because they are advanced and need more detailed training programs OR because they are trying to sell their own system.

    • @Tibialstone7
      @Tibialstone7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chad Ashton +1 on that man, but I haven't heard of his shortened, lengthened and middle techniques for bis and tris, is this similar to bicep 21's where you complete 2 sets with half the range of motion?

    • @chadashton7029
      @chadashton7029 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kinda but the 21's don't get the muscle in the true shortened or lengthen position. And even though it's close, it's not close enough. I only say that because after trying his techniques for the first time last week...I found that they work incredibly well. Search MI40 which is B.Paks program and there's lots of info including his technique to work the muscle in its different ranges as well as Neurological Overload Sets that he does...which aren't revolutionary but they do work when used. Especially when combined with the other technique.

    • @Tibialstone7
      @Tibialstone7 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you perhaps give me an example of an exercise? All I could find on the MI40 Nation site was a joinup page, but no actual examples of what's included.
