    LYRICS
Don't pull your love out on me baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me drownin' in my tears
    You say you're gonna leave
Gonna take that big white bird
Gonna fly right out of here
    Without a single word
Don't you know you'll break my heart
When I watch you close that door
Cause I never see you anymore
Don't pull your love out on me baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me drownin' in my tears
Haven't I been good to you
What about that brand new ring
Doesn't that mean love to you
    Doesn't that mean anything
If I threw away my pride
And I got down on my knees
Would I have to beg you, "pretty please"
Don't pull your love out on me baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me drownin' in my tears
There's so much I wanna do
I've got love enough for two
But I'll never use it girl if I don't have you
Don't pull your love out on me baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me drownin' in my tears

My grandfather used to listen to this song every morning in the radio while taking me and my brother to daycare, he’s been gone now for almost 12 years and every time I hear this song I can’t stop thinking about him. He was the greatest man I know to this day, and I hope to be like him some day!!

This was the second for me. "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night was the very first 45 I ever bought. I think it cost me about $.79. That was a lot of money to me back then. I freaked my parents out by buying "DOA" by Bloodrock next. I'd love to see a reaction video to that. My local radio station banned it after about a week of airplay.

This brings me back to 1971, I think it was, when this song was all over the charts. I was to fly for the first time and was so scared I would drive to the airport after work for weeks watching the planes come in and land and take off trying to get the nerve up. I finally made the flight and I got over my fright of air travel. Whenever I hear this I'm right back to those days watching those big birds fly. Funny what songs do to you..it's a magic carpet ride back to your past.

This was the first track on one of the countless 8-track "mix tapes" my Dad kept in the console of his '69 Cougar Eliminator. Dad was the king of cool, with his thick blond mane, stylish sunglasses, confident swagger and inimitable charm. He was also the greatest father, forming special bonds with each of his seven children. He's 84 years young, still rocking his ass off and still a smooth operator.

@@luisvaca6919 You’re almost completely correct. The song was written with Elvis in mind, and it went to him first. This was before Elvis passed away. He (or his management) decided to pass it up.

My twin flame told me through telepathy to listen to this song.
I know the lyrics to many, many songs, but I cld hardly recall the melody, let alone the lyrics. So I pulled up the song and listened. It was then I knew why he wanted me to hear it, and maybe even see it. So many things we've seen together! The beauty amongst the ashes! The ashes will blow away. The beauty will remain. It's not just the scenery in the video. It's the making of the memories and experiencing then together. Making a special day out of sheer nothingness. The simple joys from simple adventures.

Thanks for video. It is important to share your life with a person, but personally I think that we should recover a rational world where respect is the most important factor. Romanticism is always rational. How beautiful is to share life with anyone, if you find the person. Everybody needs afection and care. It is worthy to deserve the afecton of someone. Song is beautiful.

"Only Love" "Fallin in Love" "every day without you" "it Take the best" "love is" "so good at loving you" These songs were created and performed by Dan Hamilton. They are all beautiful. He always spoke about love with respect, and his songs have a special magic to convey that genuine love.

Yes indeed, Elvis would have definitely nailed this song. He would have taken the song to a higher level. It's a shame he did not record it. I wish that he would have, because this song was his style, and he would have sang it far better than the original artists did. Elvis would have given this song much heart and soul with his dynamic three octave range voice!

    • @roostercogburn6469
      @roostercogburn6469 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Danny Hamiltons voice was way better. My opinion, and I 've heard, read over the years, people who are voice and technical savvy say the same better range notes on point. I'm not sure why you would even comebout with such a bizzare comment Not even an Elvis song, he wouldn't have been able to hump the air or gyrate. He would have looked like he'd been electrocuted Give credit where credit is due for Christ sake
Your comment is like saying Elvis would have sang Bad Bad LeRoy Brown after listening to original artist Jim Croce

I was 12 when this song came out in 1971 and I was mesmerized by the music and lead vocal and I didn't know it was a love song then, much less did I know anything about love (still don't, lol).
Dan Hamilton didn't get the spotlight of attention that his talent deserved at the time that he was living, but the impact of the HJF&R's two hit songs has left a worthy legacy in terms of emotional impact in the collective minds and hearts of so many and I wish that some kind of tribute was done to honor them.
I know the same could be said for the many talents that never hit the big time,
but, I think the huge following that has responded to just this one song speaks VOLUMN's !!!

    • @HJFRD
      @HJFRD ปีที่แล้ว

I love this band and the incredible talent of Danny Hamilton. He truly deserves a tribute that highlights all of his musical masterpieces, of which there were many, showcasing his hard work from his early days as a guitarist and songwriter for The Ventures to his biggest album success with "Fallin' in Love." It's really sad that the world doesn't know such an artist and that most people mistake him for Elvis... the world is so closed-minded when it comes to true art... the real music, the magic that these guys created without the need for circuses and media shows.

This was supposed to be a Grass Roots song, but they were about to release another single (the #9 hit Sooner or Later) and so it was given to Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds. Rob Grill said the band was so upset that they weren't able to keep the song that the original writers wrote Two Divided by Love for them, which hit #16 later that fall.
