I’m just imagining an employee periodically looking at the security cameras to check on the couple that rented an entire theater to themselves and seeing Scott just sitting in a different seat every time
the worst spot in the theatre is actually standing in the corner. I saw wonder woman and there was a guy in my seat (they were assigned) when I got there. Since I was a teenage girl and he was a large grown up man I was too scared to confront him so I literally just stood in the corner the whole time.
Before my theater got the lounge seats, middle railing was definitely the way to go. Leg room, the people in front of you aren’t right in front of you, perfection. With the loungers, anywhere vaguely middle as long as it isn’t too far forward is fine - every seat is comfortable, and they’re spread out enough people are less likely to bother you.
Thats what I was thinking. Still valid had Regal/Edwards and other similar theaters that don't have lounge seats. Having your feat up without annoying someone is life changing 😩
The underrated thing about theaters is a good movie can absorb you despite truly terrible seats. I've been squished into the top corner against my will, but I don't remember the movie that way. I remember it like I was sitting in the damn center. That's movie magic
I saw Age of Ultron in the very front row, too, also cause it was the only seat left. It was my first IMAX movie so the screen was huge, but I was craning my neck upwards for over two hours. It did inspire me to start going to more IMAX movies though cause the quality was insane, but I always buy my tickets in advance now to avoid the front.
As someone who has seen literally hundreds of movies in theaters in the past few years, I've only recently discovered that the "back row, middle" is a myth. The best is actually one or two rows forward from the walk-in level, just before it gets into image warping territory. Turn any screen into an IMAX screen.
back row is best for getting up to nefarious activities while being undisturbed by other goers because it is the only row with nobody behind you obviously front row is generally too much neck strain from looking up, though there can still be "neck strain" from the "activities" in the back row 🖐
@@kei.13 i always sit in the back row in a corner bc of sensory issues (and it minimizes the amount of strangers next to/in front of/behind you which helps with anxiety) and it never occured to me that people do nefarious activities back there
The problem with this theatre room in particular is the position where the actual best seat would be, about 45% of the way from the screen, DOESN'T HAVE ANY SEATS
@@imperfectly_meganSAME I saw Across The Spider-verse front row because there weren't any other seats available and I literally couldn't look up at it properly. I know they would have to make the room bigger to accommodate this but there should really be more space between the screen on the first seats.
My personal favorite is the back row on the edge. It’s an odd spot for sure, but you just get so much leg room and because it’s in front of the stairs you don’t have to awkwardly stand up to let people by
7:37 vindication!!! thats my favorite spot in the theatre. because i like to slouch a little, i dont want tall people to sit in front of me, so by sitting a little closer and looking just tilting a little up at the screen you dont have to worry about that. and!! no one likes sitting in the front so they don't do it often, which means you're more likely to be alone and not bothered
Don’t forget to remember to think about convenience of leaving quick, get snacks or bathroom breaks during the movie ect. So there’s a lot of factors. I’m middle of the far back row personally
My favorite seats are actually in the very front. So much leg space and you never have to scoot past people and no one else ever wants to sit there so I love it.
I choose the very back of the theater because I don’t like the feeling of people behind me. But to each their own! If we all liked the same spot, we would always be fighting over it! 😂
my favourite seat is definitely front part but in the middle, not the front row. there's very rarely anyone in front of you to distract you. everyone else tends to sit further back to leave you alone. the screen is boom right there, feels like i'm so close i can touch, without being too close for distortion.
My first option is always the seats right above the handicap seats so I can rest my legs on the bar, as close to the center of the row as I can get. If there are too many people there, my next option in the very top row, also in the center
My seat of choice is always last row in the back, to the left by the stairs. Mostly because 1) Our small town theater is very small so it isn't too far from the screen, 2) I like to make a quick escape if I have to leave for the bathroom, and 3) the idea of people behind me make me anxious. This is very dependent on which theater im going to of course, but 9/10 its my local one and I always reserve those seats
I got stuck in the front row the first time I saw Star Trek IV. While it is not to be recommended, the moment the Klingon ship dropped its cloak above the whalers was undoubtedly much more impressive from that angle.
I always sit dead center in the very back if it's available. The theaters in my area have a much steeper stadium style seating. No worry about heads in the way. The back row is level with the screen, so you're not looking up at it and you can see the entire screen without having to turn your head.
This theater is huge. Worst seat I ever sat in I think is when I sat towards the back of an absolutely massive theater that had minimal slope and I couldn't see a thing - good thing there weren't too many people in that theater because I could get up and move farther forward in the middle of the movie
I always sit in the top row on the left side. Our theaters all have reclining seats so only about 8 rows total. When you sit in the back you typically are away from people. Any loud talkers, eaters, etc.
My go to is center midway back! My local theater has them big lovely recliners so not many rows and only about 10 across. Thus row B or C out of A thru E, and then either side of dead center, seat 5 or 6 because y'know 10 is an even number.
I make my own hours so I go to matinees and get a wide variety but ALWAYS choose as close to the center of the front if the back where Jenna. Not the front front where you're looking up but right by where the computer was
I had front row in the corner seats for Hunger Games Catching Fire. Definitely the worst moviegoing experience I've ever had, even though it was a great movie. My neck hurt from looking diagonally upward the whole time. I missed some of the action because everything was so warped that I couldn't tell what was going on.
I have regal unlimited and my theater has three seating sections, the stairs go up between the three sections. I like to sit on either side front row of the upstairs area, so I can put my feet up on the wall (with shoes on!). It’s only 3-5 seats in the row depending on the theater and no one ever chooses to sit in the row with you. Another theater near me is set up like this, and I like back row of the downstairs portion. The screen feels massive, but I don’t feel like I’m looking straight up. Then no one else ever sits in the section with me.
I still prefer the very front middle seat. Almost no one sits down there so i dont have to worry about people sitting around me. I also move the arms up on the two seats on either side and lay down to watch the movie. Or sometimes i just stretch straight out. I have crowd anxiety, so going to the movie is really hard for me.
Personally I enjoy the first row of seats behind the handicap seats because of the leg room and I don’t have to turn my head and I have the full screen within my view
The movie theater where I spent the first 30 years of my life had seats with rail and a gap between seats like that, and I chose that spot because I loved putting my feet up. I have twice in my life had to sit in the very front row for really popular movies in the 90's/early 2000's but strangely I can't remember what it was. I remember going on a date at Irvine Spectrum with my GF at the time in freshman year of high school, and we saw that Peter Pan movie of 2004 and we literally had to sit on the steps and so did other people, it was insane because Irvine Spectrum's AMC is pretty big. I remember I let her lay on me, and despite being 5'10 and her being 5'4 with both of us skinny...my back felt like I had someone completely crack it in half. I guess I was the gentleman and let her be comfortable for my back getting crushed haha
For some reason I thought you were going to sit in every single seat and watch a whole movie for each one and give and in-depth review on every seat. I am sorely disappointed
Most cinemas I go to in the UK have 2-4 seats on the sides against the wall with aisles between those seats and then the middle section. I like being on those sides so there's nobody right next to me and whoever I'm with, less likely to have anyone directly in front to distract or behind to kick the chair as most people prefer the back and/or middle seats, plus the wall makes me feel safe and cosy (I'm neurodivergent in case you couldn't tell)
We sat in the ground against the back wall to see Friday the Thirteenth in 2009 ha. Not the worst ever. I think watching Quantum of Solace from the front row was worse.
This is so fun and cute. The middle seat is the correct choice. I was worried i wouldn't be able to trust your opinions anymore if you picked front row.
On my 16th birthday my mom took me and some friends to the midnight premier of Twilight: New Moon. The only seats available were near the front and all the way to the right aka the "pay me to sit here" seats. I think it was a theater with a curved screen or something because my friends and I couldn't stop laughing at the way the angle warped Taylor Lautner's face the whole movie! Yeah, never again.
Ive never been in a theater and thought about my seat after the movie started. Yes i have my preferred place but i have sit almost everywhere in a theater and never thought about it after the lights went out
I always choose all the way in the back and on the end, but that is due to my anxiety, only have to sit next to my fiance and don't have to be worried about anyone behind me.
My perfect is by far an aisle seat right by the exit. 1. So only one person is sitting to next to me. 2. Easy out to pee. 3. Easy out to avoid crowds leaving.
when I went to see top gun maverick in theaters, it was an imax theater and the group i was with got there a little late. the only seats left were the very front right seats. let me tell you, that is NOT the viewing angle you want ever. i was so surprised by the actors' real facial proportions when I saw it on a tv 😭
I remember one time going to the movies with my friends, and one of them did NOT want to sit on the end because she was so freaked out that she was gonna sit next to a murderer or something and get stabbed, idk. Eventually I was the one who decided to suck it up and sit on the end because of course that was an irrational fear, and OF COURSE the kid next to me whipped out a switchblade halfway through the film and just sat there playing with it the entire rest of the movie.
I will always pick the middle seat, in the front row of the "back" section. Being off-center is terrible no matter the row! I want to be able to put my feet up, either on the bar or outstretched in the lounger, depending on what type of theater it is. I don't want anyone in front of me, except all those people slightly lower and further away.
Middle is also pretty OP because nobody’s really gonna scoot in front of you. They’re mostly likely closer to the stairs in the opposite direction. I’m a 1/3 to the front, middle of the row kinda guy
If I remember correctly, I saw Battle of the Five Armies in the seat they should pay you to sit in. It wasn't ideal, but I just love movies so it didn't bother me that much
Depends who you’re going with and how serious you are about the movie. Watched Barbie from the back row with a group of girls, great to laugh and respectfully make comments here and there. Saw Lucy super stoned either front row or like 2nd/3rd and was fully absorbed. I don’t like seeing scary movies so if I get suckered into it with a friend I would like sitting near the aisle so the lights remind me I’m just in a movie theater. By the door always sucks
I went to see the new Exorcist movie, which was very terrible, but that's.a story for a different day. Anyways I choose back middle as no one else had tickets yet, but when I went into the theater there was two people in the far back right corner of the theater. Which is where you start this video, I find that funny. These people actually chose that as a good spot to sit! My theater has heated recliner seats tho, so they all are nice.
Bro, I sat in the front row for ONE movie and i was so excited to be so close and getting a different perspective.. my neck was killing me afterwards, lol. I was miserable the whole time and after craning my neck the whole time i was miserable afterwards too, never again..
I always sit in the back left or right corner. I like it. Don't have people behind me annoying us. Do it even if there isn't anyone else in there. I see the difference though, my home theatre is on a slant and not upstairs. I don't know if I'd do it in a stadium theatre like that...
Fun/sad fact: the wheelchair accessible seats at my local movie theater are all the way in the back. I don’t know if that’s an overall standard, but I guess it’s better than the front row
i remember when i saw endgame me and my family had to sit in the front it was the third row we were basically all the way to the right it wasnt too bad but being in the higher rows is definitely better.
My parents are disabled so I grew up always sitting in front of the bars, it’s my preferred spot because I’m so accustomed to it I can’t go to the movies without putting my feet up now
We were some of the last to come in for Endgame…and we had your Age Of Ultron seats…and it was horrible. That whole front three rows…what were they thinking!?
The thing my family always did was sit in the first row of the first bank of seats and always in front of the metal bars. You could put your feet up and no one will sit in front of you. Plus a family of three or four will cover the bar quite well.
This video just makes it clearer how terrible the accessible seats are. We are usually ground floor with our noses touching the screen. At least in all the chain theaters I've been in. 😮💨
The back row is only nice when you’re less interested in the movie and more interested in not being perceived. That’s where the snack sneakers, vapers, and make-outers hang out. Basically, the teen section. Personally, as a tall girl, I like the center bar seat to put my feet up on. Dogs safely tucked in my shoes, of course.

I always sit in the back left or right corner. I like it. Don't have people behind me annoying us. Do it even if there isn't anyone else in there. I see the difference though, my home theatre is on a slant and not upstairs. I don't know if I'd do it in a stadium theatre like that...
I love the top corner ):
Fun/sad fact: the wheelchair accessible seats at my local movie theater are all the way in the back. I don’t know if that’s an overall standard, but I guess it’s better than the front row
i remember when i saw endgame me and my family had to sit in the front it was the third row we were basically all the way to the right it wasnt too bad but being in the higher rows is definitely better.
I was on the edge of my seat this whole video
Best spot: Back row of the front three middle two seats
8:00 diy imax
My parents are disabled so I grew up always sitting in front of the bars, it’s my preferred spot because I’m so accustomed to it I can’t go to the movies without putting my feet up now
We were some of the last to come in for Endgame…and we had your Age Of Ultron seats…and it was horrible. That whole front three rows…what were they thinking!?
The thing my family always did was sit in the first row of the first bank of seats and always in front of the metal bars. You could put your feet up and no one will sit in front of you. Plus a family of three or four will cover the bar quite well.
back corner best
This video just makes it clearer how terrible the accessible seats are. We are usually ground floor with our noses touching the screen. At least in all the chain theaters I've been in. 😮💨
Needs to be thought through better for sure. Same with concert venues.
I like being in the middle of a row and in one of the back rows.
The etnies kid lol
We went to the movies one time and saw someone that looked like they were recording the movie! We went out to find an employee to tell them about it.
Now we know! Thank you!
Perfect timing, Scott. I was just looking for a video to watch while having lunch
Hah same
me too and I am eating right now.
According to the TH-cam transcript, Scott said "toes" four times in this video.
i love that they just let u take over a theater to film these lollllll
The back row is only nice when you’re less interested in the movie and more interested in not being perceived. That’s where the snack sneakers, vapers, and make-outers hang out. Basically, the teen section.
Personally, as a tall girl, I like the center bar seat to put my feet up on. Dogs safely tucked in my shoes, of course.
