I know why these sounds are so great, it brings me back to those memories when it’s late at night you’re in the backseat driving home from a family vacation. It’s quite all you can hear are the frequent bumps on the road.
Exactly this, we used to drive from Texas to Nebraska all the time. Sitting in the back falling asleep at night, stopping at the gas station & waking up as your parents got out to pump gas, such good memories.
I used to go on long roadtrips, im talk from 8 to 28 hour rides without stopping, my parents would switch who drives and i got to relax in the back. the noise that got me to sleep was was when you hit a segmented road, and the tires sounded l8ke heartbeats. to this day the best sleep i get is on drives like that, the roads sound and a cramped space always kept me calm.
this is exactly why, I imagined one of those cold yet comfortable nights where you were so tired you wanted to use the whole back seat of the car as a bead and I felt a cold chill through my entire body, it felt as if I was reliving those moments

Sound of driving cars comforting to me as well. I'm not quite sure why, but I think it has to do with my childhood. When your child even an hour drive seem very long, especially at night time. I would usually just fall asleep and it would be so relaxing. I usually have the window down and just have the air blow into my face , especially on a hot summer evening and just the sounds of the road, is pretty peaceful

Oh God this is music to my ears because other than me no-one drives at night time in my family so basically I'm the only one who always stays awake 5 or 6 hours straight while driving at night even if someone is willing to take the wheel and let me sleep I can't close my eyes for a second 😂
i never heard such silent ride on highway i live in czechia and at all highways it sounds like if you were riding a train atleast i can always tell when iam out of germany and bakc home i guess
