I like your style but I always start with the interior what's the best method for starting either exterior or interior first

depends on the vehicle, type of detail you're doing, and weather

I think some detailers forget about set up and tear down is part of their working time on that car. Yes sometimes some might say I made $100 an hour but forgetting all expenses, travel time and work put in at the end of the day: washing towels, cleaning up and so on.

That’s a no Brainer but at the end of the day I still make my $500 a day.

@@barrycook8116 wasn’t trying to flex my gross income lol. I’m just saying stop focusing on the hourly rate. Focus on building a quality business.

    • @barrycook8116
      @barrycook8116 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@butskiiueepp1625 you have to know your hourly rate as a detailer otherwise you are not profitable. You could make $500 a day and 40-60 per hour minus all expenses. All
These detailers will brag about how much they make but have nothing to show for and forget about. Plus the hours they are not working and not making any money.

You act is if detailers use whole bottles of spray sealants and soaps, etc on one vehicle. everything I buy for my company is dilutable so pretty cost effective. My cost to provide a service on one vehicle is around $5-$7. Now obviously on more high end services requires more expenses but not as bad as you might think. 90% is profit AKA labor. In fact my CPA has a hard time and has to be creative in finding ways for me to save during tax time since my net is high

Issue with gas I have ran out of gas or forgot to fill up. My setup is all electric my power washer and air compressor I ask kindly to hook up my outlet to their garage or house. Customer is okay and understanding most of the time some don’t like it not really the people you want to work for.

last couple months I've eliminated all clients with vehicles that take a long time and only accept new vehicles or if they want their car corrected ceramic coated to b prevent difficult jobs A complete detail takes me just over an hour so that's 50 -75$ per hr. minimal work just a quick easy wash, vac and wipe down of interior surfaces and glass. it totally made me love detailing again . no need to work hard.. work smart and concentrate on what needs to be addressed and skip other areas until they need cleaning. I use 1 bucket and a few microfiber towels in my bucket setting each one aside as they get caked up with dirt. Ihave two shop vacs use a dedicated one in reverse to blow off car after rinse to save time on towel drying. I use a dilutable spray wax in di water to aide in drying and prevent water spots. happy I got to my 1 hr per vehicle goal using these game changing methods. you did a great job. good luck. keep it up

I ran out of gas both in the gas can and the pressure washer at mid foam wash so i had to use my pump sprayer to finish foaming and connect my water hose to clients spiket and quickly rinse it down

Try the compressor attachment with the hvlp gun bro to spray your tires , plastics & wells. Just dilute your trim shine with water and spray away. You’ll save money from that aerosol one! Just dial it down and center it tighter.

Bro i wash everything first then dry it out then hit the interior and get it all situated. Then move back on the outside and just clean up the rest. It's easier in my opinion i just like to go from outside to in and back out again .

That’s what it looks like towards the end of the week. It’s being used daily. It’s organized In a way that works for me. Used towels go on the side, drying towels go on top of the tank and clean towels go in a closed bin.

How does one decide between gas and electric pressure washers? If I start a mobile business, I'd probably use neither since I'd do it the rinseless way. But if there was no rinseless, I'd definitely go electric.

If you want speed secrets, consider these :
Vacuum and brush out the interior first , before you get water and soap all over the place. *During the vacuuming, the brake rotors and wheels will have time to cool if they need it .
Hose down the entire vehicle with water to cool the surfaces and pre-soak . Spray the lower areas including wheels with dish liquid solution, degreaser or all purpose cleaner as appropriate . **Include the floor mats you removed earlier .
Spray a solution of car wash soap ( Zaino or Adams ) from a spray bottle onto the paint . Agitate with cheap sponge mop from the dollar store that you've covered with a microfiber towel . ***Use a seperate towel for areas the mop misses . Rinse the car while brushing the wheels and wheel wells . Apply another dose of car wash soap to bugs and tar , agitate with microfiber towel ( or bug getter if needed--especially on the windshield ) . Rinse again. Dry the exterior and windows well so you don't have to do seperate exterior window cleaning .
Apply dressing to cladding and tires with a cheap dollar store sponge mop and finish applying with a rag soaked in dressing .
Wipe the interior down with water, a wet rag , dry rag and , where needed, glass cleaner .
    Done !
