As a hawks fan, i can honestly say that weve just been getting worse season by season since our ECF run. Until we miss the play in, the front office is going to continue being delusional about the ceiling of the team
Its an interesting question if the Hawks GM should have already been fired. Usually when GMs stall on decisions they often time are doing it to try to salvage their job. In the Hawks case, you either stay with the same squad and hope for a magical improvement (Risacher is great, another super lucky draft, a team giving you a really underrated guy that changes your fortune), or you tank and accept that you will be bad, but at least you can start building the future. Problem is that doing that means admitting you can't win, and when you dont have your draft picks for the next three years, that basically means you lose your job as GM because you failed
I actually think this team is going to make the playoffs, but they will be slightly below average on defense since they surrounded Trae with a lot of length and dyson daniels whos going be the key impact player to evaluate the hawks
@thedimer4017 I aint lying. It was about a month ago, I think Zach lowe or somebody said that the Hawks was mainly after the Lakers' unprotected 1st round pick, which the Pelicans had. And that Dyson was just a throw in. Hawks weren't after Dyson because of his potential. They wanted the draft pick
