- Hey you! Did you want to know about how rushing at UW madison works?? Well, do I have a guide for you! This video gives the rush process for both frats and sororities as well as how each round of rush will look and feel like in terms of dressing up and talking to the houses. What year do people generally live in their sorority house? Also, do you have to move in earlier than everyone else to rush?

Jessica Schoon I don't go to frats too often, I've gone to TKE, Acacia, Pike, A sig, and another I don't know the name of. My favorite is TKE bc I have friends there and they're super nice! Also no, not everyone does and also there are sober monitors.
i’m gonna be a sophomore in high school next year so idk why i’m watching this😂 but i really want to be part of a sorority when i’m older. and i’m for sure going to a uw school because i’m covered by the VA because my dad is a veteran and we’re from wisco. i have a lot of questions so i can plan and maybe you could answer them? but do you have to reach requirements to get into a sorority (like have to do things in high school or be a certain year in college) ? is the chance of getting in a sorority high if you sign up and rush? can you live in the house as a freshman and how do you get to live in the house? does your self popularity matter when you get in a sorority? is a sorority separate from the school itself or how are they related? what happens if you don’t get a bid..and how can you almost guarantee you’ll get a bid? how much does it cost? for different campuses, is the sorority youre apart of stand for the same things as a different campus? is it just a simple sign up to join requirement so you can rush? sorry i’m still pretty young and i have so many questions i’m just super curious and want to figure out if this is the goal i should work for😂
kortnee kylann sounds like you're super excited for college already! So no you don't have to do anything beforehand in HS to get into the sorority and you can be any year in college (but most are freshman so that you can get the full experience). I think the chances are pretty high for getting into a sorority if you rush and seem really excited about being involved in Greek life. You can't live in the house as a freshman, but you qualify during your second year in college and you have to apply early, but larger sororities usually have a place to live for everyone. Popularity doesn't matter, it's honestly just how your personality comes through in the rush process and how it matches with a sorority (they do check your socials though). Greek life is integrated into the university and houses are on campus but its kind of an isolated culture if that makes sense. If you don't get a bid, you can choose to rush again in the next season (spring or fall!) you cant guarantee a bid. Bid fees range for sororities in the hundreds unless you live in the house which is around 10,000. Not sure about how they vary from uw campus, but all Greek life is connected, and the rush fee is the only thing you need to apply! Hope this helped.

how do you sign up or register for a sorority?
There is a form that opens up twice a year where you can register and pay the fee. If you don't see it I would contact the greek life board through email or even instagram DM one of the sororities you are interested in!
