    I graduated high school and really don't have money to go to UW Madison but I was thinking🤔,, what say I sit in on some of the lectures and maybe some of the larger classes where they don't take roll call and I pick up an honorary degree that way?? Is there any way I can maybe get a stamp or something showing that I attended?

    My son committed to CS at UWM starting Fall 2023. This was a really helpful video. Thanks! I noted no one talks about campus transportation. Do they have any buses that connect dorms and classrooms, especially the ones that seem a little further away from campus. When I went to Umich, it was hard to go 2 minutes without seeing a giant Michigan Blue bus filled to the brim with students. Really hoping UWM is similar.

    Congratulations on your academics. My younger brother just graduated from high school this year in May. He just turned 18 on last Thursday. He will attend to the same community college as me. I will graduating from community college with my AA degree in general studies next year in the spring. I have been studying at a community college for 6 years, which is going to be in this fall semester. After I complete with my AA degree in general studies, I will be in a BA program for radio television and journalism. You should take a look at my stats videos in that way you can get to know about me. Please check that out whenever you have time. For my dream career as a job, I want to be an actor, singer, broadcast, journalist, and author in television. For my backup plan as my job career, I will be working at a clothing store, office store, TJ Maxx, and Target for 2-3 years. I grew up with Individual Educational Plan (IEP) due to my diagnosed with autism at age 3. I’m a military child, so I moved from state to state at age 5 through 21. I was born in the west side of New York, and I lived there for 5.5 years. I lived in 5 different states for 2-3 years, Virginia for 6-7 months, and Puerto Rico for a year. For right now, I am living in Florida. I lived here in Florida for 2 years. I grew up with my Spanish speaking family who are from Colombia and Puerto Rico. I learned Spanish and English at the same time. However, I learned how to speak more Spanish at age 16 or 17 in my junior year of high school. Additionally, I started to speak better in Spanish at age 17 or 18 in my senior year of high school by watching videos, watching Spanish program, writing grammars, and by listening to people’s conversation in Spanish. Thank God I don’t have to move anymore. Again, you have great content with the video. You did a great job with it. Including with your stats video. My younger brother was into video games more than studying, so he did not even take it seriously. Other than that, all it matter is that he graduated from high school this year in May. Good luck with your studies in college. My name is Andres by the way. It’s pleasure to meet you. God bless you and your family. 🙏

    I'm going into my senior year and considering applying to/attending madison, but I do have a few concerns. 1. I'm not really into football games or partying. I'd probably like parties/clubs but not every single weekend, would it be hard to make friends because of this? and 2. Based on some videos I've seen the campus is pretty urban and it seems kind of loud I guess? Does it feel like you're on a college campus or just that you're in the middle of a city with a bunch of cars and traffic? I know it's an urban campus and I've been to the U of M campus a few times which is also urban but that one didn't seem too much like it was in the middle of the street and it still felt like there was a campus space to some degree.

    Hello! I am a freshman girl going soon into my sophomore year! This freshman year for me was so difficult, I went through bad mental state occasions, and I’m finally getting better BUT I feel like it’s too late. My GPA rn is a 3.950 and that’s with all advance classes except for my elective class. Although the 3 is not bad I just feel like I let myself down, it COULDVE BEEN SO EASY TO GET THAT 4. Anyways my concern is/ or more like question- well that 3 effect whether I get a 4 overall after senior year? I’m just so confused with what information is part of the final GPA after graduating. I’m not sure whether SAT and ACT effect GPA? I’m just so confused and it’s worrying me a lot, a dream of mine since I’ve been very little has been to be one of the highest in graduation:/and I’m terrified that the 3 will ruin that for me

    • @poorvahalbe6510
      @poorvahalbe6510 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry so much about your GPA! A 4.0 isn't really the HUGE thing everyone makes it out to be. ACT and SAT doesn't impact your GPA, and I'm sure you'll do great :)

    Quick questions: 1. Did you end up getting into MIT? 2. Were there any particular reasons for u turning down UIUC (they have a wonderful engineering program and are quite large)? 3. Did you end up getting into UMich (you said you got both accepted and rejected)? Congratulations on all your success and great video!

    • @poorvahalbe6510
      @poorvahalbe6510 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I got rejected from MIT, and since I was deferred from UMich for early action I got accepted in the regular decision time. For UIUC, you are correct that almost all their engineering programs are nationally recognized which is why I had such a tough time choosing. However, I was to go BME which was one of their newest and smallest programs whereas UW madison had a very well established BME and biology programs that it is known for. I certainly took a gamble bc I didn't have a guaranteed spot here but I progressed so all is well :)

    Hey! I have a question :) I'm a girl finishing freshman year in High School. I did algebra 1 in 9th grade, but I'm going to double up geometry and advanced algebra in 10th grade in order to be able to take calculus senior year. Getting ahead in my math will require me to only be able to do 2 years of a foreign language. (In our school we do Algebra 1 -> geometry-> advanced algebra-> and precalculus. That would be like the "average" for most students. Would having 2 years of a foreign language reduce the chances of getting into U.W madison?

    • @poorvahalbe6510
      @poorvahalbe6510 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all! Having any sort of foreign language is I believe the only requirement but there's definitely not an emphasis on it for a holistically reviewed application :)

      Well... If you find someone with the answers I'd like to know too... 💀 but all jokes aside, definitely take advantage of the fact that there's a lot of research opportunities and a really good Healthcare system on campus that many students work at. Try to volunteer with medical/research as a early as possible and choose a major that shows your passion and ability to succeed in medical school.

    • @poorvahalbe6510

      First off so glad the vids help!! So they set the progression benchmarks based on previous years grade trends, BUT the GPA requirements are solely your own. If the benchmark is a 3.2 core, you just have to get that to automatically progress, but if you're close to it you'll probably progress anyways.

I am a direct admit to the mechanical engineering program and am strongly considering attending and have some questions. I am currently in AP calc BC and was wondering what calc class you think I should start in. Im worried about starting in calc 3 because I want to keep my gpa high for progression and am considering starting in calc 1. My uncle is an engineering professor and recommended starting in calc 1 but my friend who goes to UW suggested starting in calc 3. Also keep up the great work with your videos, I really enjoy them.

I feel like it's a good location not too far from classes, but in terms of location Lucky is definitely one of the best. However all the major apartments are quite a hefty price point and so lots of students end up doing smaller houses or apartments instead.
