This was the game that made me Formula 1 fan because I fell in love with the sound of the car ;). Too bad that they only use hybrids today. BTW also my first f1 game
i think F1 06' is a great game, but while it fixes and improves some crucial elements from the previous '05, it takes some steps backwards in other areas. For example, in '06, the AI is finally competitive and hard to beat on the highest difficulty, but in contrast, the handling model is more stiff and less responsive than '05. Worse still, both games are bugged. In '05, commentary and pit crew radio cannot be heard on career mode races, and in '06 the formation lap almost always gets skipped. Still, they're both pretty good titles for their time.

It was an amazing game! Great career mode! An smart way to do the pit stop with you controling a little bit the mechanics... Great graphics! I don't know whats happening with the new games, but I sold the ps3 because I didn't find games like f1 2006 or collin mcrae 2!!
I played this game on a real PS2 and even then it looked amazing for a PS2 game. The PS3 version (F1 Championship Edition) has some of the best graphics of the seventh generation. In my opinion, it has better graphics than GT6, not to mention it was ahead of its time in many ways. It had formation laps 10 years before Codies games had them, it had podiums (with national anthems if you're playing the PS3 version), was the last game I know of that allowed you to freely customize the grid for Quick Race mode (something I really miss on Codies games. They should really add this for F1 2017. If they brought back QR Championships, let us make custom grids on races with no Quali. Replicate real races, put the backmarkers up front and the front runners at the back, or even randomize everything to make things really interesting!), and probably the only Career Mode that allowed you to be a test driver! This game was the shit.

Good Game, but as i can watch its a game not a simulator, please try F1 2006 - 2007 from Ea sports THOSE ARE REAL SIMULATORS, where you can NOT make mistakes, of course with only 2 basic helps, AND you have to drive it from Cockpit view, that is part of a real challenge
EA SPORTS F1 2007 my friend a real simulator, that is really difficult to drive, specially if you dont use aids, i use traction control in low and abs help in low, nothing else, a little mistake, and you go into the wall. vey good simulator with tons of parameteres to adjust

Dont be fooled. He is emulating the PS2 and upscaling the graphics with PCSX2! It doesnt look quite that good on real hardware I can tell you!
