Love the section that wedges you in between those big rocks. My new fave thing to do when watching your vids, is to pause at the beginning for the trail name, and look it up on trail forks, then resume the vid while watching where you are on the map to see how it corresponds. Its amazing how well some if these trails are charted out. It flows so naturally with the environment its like the trail was already there before anyone made it. Just needed to be uncovered.
Haha that's awesome, I do the exact same thing! Also cool is turning on the slope angle overlay to really understand why things ended up where they did. 🤓
I love the sound that your filming captures. I ride the same trails and i realize it’s different but its a cool sound. Let alone your riding capabilities. 🤙
Great quality video as always! Man is it pretty over there. I appreciate the tips you give along as you ride certain features, helpful although I doubt I'll ever get to use them in the concrete jungle. Looking forward to the next dreamy scenes you provide us with!
Great video! I'm lovin' it! Every time I see you ride all of the stuff it seems so effortless (i know it just looks easy) and i want to learn tech MTB more....
Trails like these are really interesting for me because I live in scotland where there are very few of these kinds of tight, slow, tech trails. you do get some tight, techy ones but 9 times out of 10 you can go pretty fast on them, Top Cheif at the Nevis Range is a good example, I am soon getting a 29er enduro bike, coming from a 27.5 trail bike so I am very interested to see how it will perform here in the UK.
Wagon wheel limousine 😂😂😂 let’s see how long we can make these wheels last 😂😂 I’m pretty sure your bike shops bought a new boat with all the wheels you’ve had had them build for you ☝️😂👍
I just put on some 820mm bars, previous ones were cut to 780~ but so far these feel good stock... I predict I'll be punching a lot of trees in the future :P
Shouldve got a 26 rear wheel for the second trail lol

Sir, please be very careful with sleep deprivation. I've got way too many injuries from small moments of deconcentration most likely due to lack of sleep (but in parkour), and we're always the smartest after an otherwise avoidable fall. There's an other day to ride hard trails.
Definitely not worth pushing your limits when you are in need of sleep. I felt pretty comfortable in this video but silly mistakes can definitely be costly!
my name is josh i live in worcester mass and i was wondering if you teach people how to ride the trails like you i am a big fan and would love to go riding and see just what i cam do on a mountain bike i have a trek 4100 dirt jumper and a haro x1 extrema trail bike
I've been wondering how North Shore guys feel about these long slack bikes on those types of steep technical trails. Does anyone even make a bike for that type of riding anymore?
Great ride and vid as always Dale! Is the “staircase” on 5th the “no shame” section from a couple of years ago? If so, have you completed that section yet, or still a no go? If (and only if) you are comfortable with that section now, I think it would make for an interesting before and after video topic some day. I’m surprised the big bike made it through that chicane section at 11:35 on Trunk Monkey without apparent concern from you. But what do I know? Neither of these trails are on my hit list now or in the long foreseeable future lol!
Yep, that's the staircase, I forget the official name (might be "steps of doom"). Haven't ridden it yet since I'm not sure if I could stop after the first move on the gravel. At this rate it'll happen some day when I'm able to visualize it! Agreed, felt like it was going to fall off both sides of that bridge at once, probably almost did! 😆
Yup the steps of doom. And the og line goes hard right down two steps to a slight left hand so you don’t go straight into a rock. Was way easier 20years ago because it had more dirt. OG steps are a seriously hard move for sure.
So glad I put the “and only if” in my previous comment. I just saw Remy’s near miss. Push, yes. But respect your limits and your inner voice. I know you know this, but, well, yeah… that could have gone so wrong.
I watched this section about 5 times trying to figure out how you didn't get your front wheel stopped out by the rock. th-cam.com/video/k434JnZpEgo/w-d-xo.html. I don't think that was the ideal line to avoid an OTB experience!
Big ups to IMBY for setting up a generous $50 off wheelsets code for viewers of this channel. 😊 DALESTONE50 @ bit.ly/IMBYWheels!

@@DaleStone you just sent me scurrying to google to figure out how to turn those overlays on. Neat!

This is my favorite lap up Cypress. Trunk Monkey Rules !
Great riding as usual, Dale. Making tech look easy.
Thanks Jon!
Gotta love when people recognize you on the trails now? You famous!
Friendly people get me fired up!
Not gonna lie, I'd probably geek out and do the same thing. Then try and see if I could keep up
@@powdertramps I totally did. No shame. Dale rode by me near my house up to Burke and I fanboy'd hard. No regrets.
5th horseman is such a cool trail. Definitely will have to hit it when I can. Trunk monkey may be a little beyond me on a modern 29 though
It's a tougher challenge but oh so sweet to clean.
More great tracks and another great video!

Top Cheif eh, noted, thanks! And that sounds like fun times ahead.🤘
Yeah dale 🙌
The first video I watched of you was when you went down that trail with dave, awsome to see you ride it again 👍
That was a fun video to film!
Awesome riding man!!
Wow nicely done 🤘👌👌
Ur videos always inspire me🤘🙏

IMBY Yachts™, coming soon.
"Look where you want to go" - story of my life. 😅

Hello New Subscriber hereee! More contents to come! I really love contents like this! 💛
I can tell your mom loves you. She sacrificed her gardening gloves to keep your hands safe.
The 5th horseman... you mean Mr. Soak?

Just get out there and ride as much as you can! 🤘
You make this look easy I smashed my face on this trail it’s a blue but should be a black
It is most definitely not a blue. 🫡
Eeeyah I think I thought I was watching something else? Def not a blue hahaha.
I've been wondering how North Shore guys feel about these long slack bikes on those types of steep technical trails. Does anyone even make a bike for that type of riding anymore?
Just about anything can still be ridden on any bike! Not many holdouts of old school geo that I know of.
@@DaleStone definitely. I was just curious.

Sharp left before the extremely sharp rock, got it. Definitely can imagine it has only gotten harder with each passing year!

hello Dale, what is your bar width on the Norco Range ?
760 regardless of bike
Do you get recognised often when on the trails?
Depends where, local stuff more and more!

This trail is a lot steeper than it shows on cameras, it's likely not even a wheel catch in real life haha. Unweight the front wheel and let it roll!
you doing the EWS race withthe other youtubers?
Not totally sure but unlikely. 2serious4me!
hi Dale, are you into motorcycles too?
Trials motos are interesting but otherwise not for me!
Where is your bell?
In the mail.
@@DaleStone I don't know how that kid recognised you without it.
"You're Dale Stone, right?" Probably recognized you cause you never wear knee pads :))
Ain't nobody showing off as much knee as me. 🕺
