I mean, I’ll be fair to sonic mains on this. It’s not entirely their fault they benefit from entering and exiting combat to gain the upper hand at just the right moment. Most characters in contrast actually have no real need to think extremely hard about it when you look at their gameplay styles. Sonic is fast, but most moves will not connect if you’re being too reckless. (By that I mean you can’t just go without even a brain cell and expect everything to work. The plan is to overwhelm the enemy with quick movements and attacks that can both move you where you need to be and handle the enemy’s reactions to said attacks if they are able to recover.) If they could just charge into an enemy and be relentless, that would be kind of broken in comparison to what we have in smash rn. Which to clarify by what I mean by relentless, I mean if it as if you were playing a character like Ike who has need for less than half a brain cell and a few good swings to combo into *up B* or spamming neutral aerial like paluatena to build up damage quickly before landing a powerful attack. The only thing that I think removes most of the aggression sonic players have is the lack of damage without consistency which sonic, clear to his titles is not known for landing consecutive hits without trying to at least style on the enemy.
i agree for the most part as some should be guarantee kill confirms basic example being down b fair can be inconsistent and some times people drop out of down b, especially annoying when you b reverse neutral b and hit the ground. This was going to be a potential video idea but sonic is made faithfully in terms of when you play sonic, as for the most part you play him as if your playing against a eggman boss fight not one of sonics rivals/friends. There are some changes they could of made like animation differences and sound effect changes, plus the current tournament stage list incentivise sonic to make use of the distance. But i just think plainly the better you get with sonic the more aggressive and stylish you can be and in tournaments the general goal is to win unless your very hype and aggressive most people forget how appealing you were to watch and more care about the placement. TLDR most Sonic's care about winning and the current character isn't that bad but slight visual and audio changes would help his appeal.
Aggro sonic is the most fun sonic to watch. It fits him so well personality-wise, super aggressive and a bit impatient with a lot of flashy. It's definitely a lot more fun than watching campy sonic be campy. Well played.

Sonic wasn't in smash to be a character used be a 5 year old that rages when they lose. he was meant to be an enjoyment to fans.

At least aggressive sonic can be enjoyable better to have some aggressive plays that are rewarding than none so at least there's a silver lining
