There's a fine line between wanting to impress a new company/coworkers and being too gung ho. I worked for a global company and sometimes, eager new employees would come in and start wanting to change processes and procedures because "at my last company, we did this, or that", etc. I'm not implying this regarding you at all, just in general. It can be off-putting and displays poor new employee job etiquette 😂. However, you also want to show your knowledge and enthusiasm for your position and help make positive changes. It's a very fine line and can be difficult to balance during the "getting to know coworkers and job politics" stage. My opinion, of course. I hope you enjoy your new job! Yay for you!!

Definitely trying to get to know other people outside of new hires. It’s nice to have someone to go to who is more experienced and not your manager.
