Hehe thank you sharing my ah ma’s hometown! Used to visit sitiawan when I was younger with her and wow I did not know the history behind the place. Glad to see the old places still around. And the Chili sauce hahaha my ah Ma would buy a crate of it to bring back Singapore My ah Ma has mobility issues and is unable to visit her home… so I showed her your video and she enjoyed it a lot. Your videos managed to bring sitiawan to her. (And she made me replay your video 3 times now hahaha) thanks again!

CK there's no other vlogger who gives us more detailed and informative videos extensively about Malaysia than you. I did my second visit to Msia recently in June. The first one was in 2015 during my visit to just KL. This time I managed to explore Penang, Melacca and Teluk Intan. I just love Msia and want explore more places. Probably next year will do a longer trip just to take a peek at all the 10 small towns which you have described in your video. ❤ Thanks CK

Lu lak is basically sitiawan Loh Mee (which only available in sitiawan) with some sitiawan style asam laksa to add spicy and sour to loh mee. And the wan tan at that restaurant is one of the best as the wan tan skin is cook to al dante state.
In my opinion, wan tan and dumpling are different thing. Wan tan is small and basically skin and minced meat. Dumplings is bigger in size, fillings of minced meat with veggies.
There is a shop in Taman Mas which sell very nice (the best for me) meat kong piang (char Siew)
What i find best is the noodle they use in Sitiawan for loh mee and kolo mee. I cant find it elsewhere. Only able to eat it in Sitiawan.
My late grandfather cooks the best fish maw soup in sitiawan. He cater to weddings and events and his specialty is the fish maw soup and shark fin soup.
Lastly. Welcome to Sitiawan and glad that you able to try the food which makes you crave for more.
*Im born in manjung. Raised in Kg Koh and Ayer Tawar.*

There are 2 Foochow majority areas in Peninsular Malaysia. Sitiawan (Hock Chiew Foochows) and its neighbouring town of Ayer Tawar 15mins away (Kutien Foochows). The other major Foochow town is Yong Peng in Johor. I'm not Chinese, but I grew up in Sitiawan. So I donno if I got the Foochow subdialect groups correct. I know there is also Hock Chiang Foochows in Malaysia. BTW, Yong Peng has its own Kong Pia. So its not true kong pia can only be found in Sitiawan, outside of East Malaysia. In fact, Yong Peng reminded me so much of Sitiawan in the brief time I was there years ago. I'm pretty sure they too produce most of the traditional Foochow delicacies, just as in Sitiawan. Anyway, Sitiawan seafood is the bomb, best accompanied by fresh local toddy.
