Undergraduate in psychology here, and I think a huge portion of what caused the trend to die down was how much backlash the initial drop for Mother’s Day had. The people who obsessed over Stanley cups are on TikTok and TH-cam, and it became a very big trend to criticize the obsession that followed Stanley’s. The original drop was an unexpected boom of popularity and madness, but people came into this recent drop knowing that all eyes would truly be on them and monitoring their behavior. It was even shown in this video, people were going to stores with their phones on trying to see if anyone would misbehave so they could post it. I think it’s also safe to say many people may have been legitimately worried of being harmed for a cup that had all of the issues discussed in this video, which may have contributed to the lack of participation.

Honestly 5.99 at goodwill is worth it, they are nice cups, they just aren’t worth $40-50… I’ve had a target knockoff I bought for $14.99 for about a year and I do like it a lot.
There's no risk to your health really, the lead seal would only become dangerous if you put an actual hole through the lining & at that point you'd stop drinking from it anyways since it would stop insulating.
@hedwyn8803 realistically the danger is minimal, but in a clean girl aesthetic, health-conscious and hyper critical social media environment, any lead presence is too toxic.
I cannot understand why people in the Us were bodyslamming and hairpulling one another for a.. solid red or pink metal cup? When i heard “viral valentines day cup” i was thinking “hey maybe the design is really cute” no its just a solid red or pink cup 😭 ????
There's also a demographic of people - largely people who spend a lot of time online - who aren't buying from Starbucks because of the boycotts in support of Palestine. If it weren't a collaboration with Starbucks, there may have been more hype for it, in addition to all the other marketing and culture points.
two of my coworkers at target were fired because they bought the valentine tumblers/cups the morning of it being released before the store even opened... & they checked themselves out too from what i was told. the craziest part is they were BOTH manager type positions, one of them being a starbucks team lead too. all those things are WELL KNOWN things NEVER to do.... fired for a $45 mini hyper trend that's made with lead.
It's not a great color. Like I thought I had my blue light filter on cause the blue is so dull lol. It gives hospital wall paint. I also wonder if everyone on social media making fun of ppl who buy Stanley Cups had an effect.
My boyfriend randomly brought one home one day and tbh the quality just isn't there? Sure it's huge and keeps my drinks cold for a really long time but it leaks pretty easy and the handle jiggles under its own weight, plus the paint chips of pretty easy
😭 I purchased my first Stanley from one of those collectors. Opened but unused. I thought about if I actually wanted one for MONTHS before pulling the plunge. Decided I actually DID want, got the only color I actually want, and it’s the only one I’m going to own. That’s it!
Yeah, I sometimes watch her videos since they are informative but I agree her voice is grating and hard to listen too. I think it’s the shouty voice combined with a NZ accent since other NZ TH-camrs are similarly hard to listen to.
@@ZJDB0102 I think her voice is naturally loud and screechy, I kinda feel bad for her. But yeah, I'd prefer if she, and others similar to her, didn't try to yell and sound like they're screaming throughout the whole video. I wonder if they're trying to emphasize their frustration to the audience by doing this?
Honestly, I stopped watching girl’s channel. While I could tell that she’s a good person with her heart in the right place, the poor volume and pitch control were just too much for my ears to handle, and actually made me fee panick - y. Haha. People like being talked with, not talked TO, you know what I mean? Lol.
Honestly I like the blue better than the pink but I won’t buy a Stanley SPECIFICALLY because of how embarrassing and cringey people acted during the valentines drop now I associate having a Stanley at all with being one of those types 😭
I can't stand the whole thing, if i like it, if it's practical and reasonable, I'm acquiring it and I'm keeping it. I'm not gonna buy it because of anyone else and I'm not gonna give it away because of anyone else Unless you know, it's something we're avoiding as a group 🍉
They should be boycotted. They're involved with Starbucks, therefore involved with a g*nocide. Even if I was willing to participate in something like that, the lead scares me. Plus I alread have a bottle. No need to buy a new one.
Which kinda sucks. The cup can’t just be a cup for a beverage. It used to be a status symbol and now it’s becoming a symbol of shame. They probably won’t be reduced to a basic functional item until a few years pass.
I would like to hope it’s partly because of awareness of Starbucks' awful treatment of its workers, unions and zionist talking points coming into the public awareness and thus people not wanting to give money to them. One can hope.
I like to call them “Flash Fads” They’re super popular for like 2-3 months- and then go back to being ‘normally’ over consumed. (since- let’s be real- over consumption has NOT being slowing down at all no matter how popular something is)
@@Kaysajaall metal vacuum sealed cups have lead. It’s an industry standard and isn’t in the part you’d drink from or anything. But there was also people misusing lead tests which made the news even worse.
@lVlegabyte this method is "industry-standard" in that's it's commonly used, cheap, and not illegal. There are plenty of manufacturers making double walled vacuum sealed stainless steel cups or bottles that don't use lead in the manufacturing process. It's not some impossible task, it's just a few cents more expensive
@@tay-lore the lead is in the soldering of the metal for the air tight seal. Lead free solder is available but fails more often especially considering it has a lower melting point. (See Xbox red ring of death being from lead free solder). Seeing that people frequently put these cups in dishwashers which can reach high temperatures for a hours on end I could see using lead solder being preferred.

you are so eloquent, im glad the algorithm recommended your video. your well-read commentary and thoughtful insights were really really interesting to hear, even more since no other channel seem to be talking about the dying stanleys shebang. mixing business, marketing, psychology and pop culture commentary in a way so easily digestible must be a lot of work, but it was like a breath of fresh air. ive seen so many people talking about so much stuff without doing any research, or not as much research as they should. def subscribed. xoxo
10:07 yes ! Its also so cute to see couples prepare stuff for eachother not only for special occasions but randomly "just because". (Especially when its handmade)
Great video, I love your presentation! I think it's probably the best possible outcome that stanley cups are no longer a huge fad the way they were, because now most of the people buying new releases will be those who actually need a new cup or have genuine interest in the brand, and not just people who want to fit in or post about it on social media. Your idea for the abstract flower cups also sounds totally cute!
Omg I knew this would happen! Thank you for talking about it! People are being completely ridiculous over hyper-consumerist trends that will just stop overnight and start again over an other product that no alone really truly needs!
The algorithm served you to me and I was so shocked to realise you only have 700 subscribers? This is such a good video too, I hope more people can watch this and find your channel! Btw, I love your hair too!!
Purple for spring, Yellow for summer, Orange for fall, and Blue for winter...those are the colors that come to mind for me. The baby blue Stanley cup looks winter-y to me.
So glad youtube recommended your channel!! I love how thoughtful your commentary is, subscribing! 😊 Also, if I was in charge, coming from a background in illustration with a few years of work in graphic design and marketing , I would have done a springy soft yellow green color to appeal to Gen z and y2k aesthetic as that has remained large for a long while now, maybe one or 2 other colors to go along like a periwinkle blue (more saturation = less calm of the powder blue chosen) , and possibly a saturated pinkish lavender to appeal to the pink crowd, also the combination of these hues = fresh from being on the colder side of colors, and also appeals to older millennials women (big part of their market) who often seem to love spring greens, pinks and purples (from my observations at least, when they are the sort that still enjoy color). sell and advertise accessories like a little carrier for watertok-ers flavor packets or whatever , bc I think most people who fell into the obsession have realized it may have been over consumption, or a brief obsession, but selling a couple accessories could add an extra draw in, and imply that you can mix and match with the colors ie. showing swappable color lids and straws so you can mix and match and the colors will look very nice fresh and fun together in advertisements= even more appeal.
yeaaaa I thought about the accessories piece too I remember seeing so many little charms for stanley cups that are so popular it would definitely help boost hype This is really interesting thank u for sharing!
why on earth do you only have 724 subs? I thought TH-cam was glitching and refreshed the page lol. welp you've got me hooked, time to subscribe and watch all of your videos in one sitting

I’m going to be honest. The way people began to treat a Stanley cup release gave us all an ick and we immediately saw it as uncool once that video of them running to get the cup came out
Sis I’m just in aww of the curly hair, I need some of them curls. Cup thing is interesting, however I’m looking at the Starbucks cup that was briefly shown for the release😂😊
This is my new Spaghetti Timer Video bc this essay is #1 an interesting watch/listen and #2 is the exact length of time for me to make spaghetti. Definitely following for more!
I think there are 3 types of people during a micro-trend, the 50% gonna catch a fade for it types, the 35% “I mean it’s cool but not cool enough to catch a fade” types, and the 15% “What the f wrong with people?” type of people. When all the emotions calm and the shame starts to creep in, the 15% clown the 35% followed by the 35% shaming the 50%. What’s left is shame, embarrassment, and cringe for the brand that started it. Lol
The hype died because tik tok users have the attention span of a gerbil and also because (my theories): 2. they collabed w Starbucks while there is an ongoing boycott against Starbucks, 3. there were viral videos of people fighting over the cops in the winter and now ppl feel corny to stand in line for fear they will be mocked in viral videos, 4. There were viral videos of people showing that their stranley cups rusting, 5. It was definitely a micro trend within a larger micro trend and now that everyone has one it’s no longer exclusive or on trend to have the cup. They will be fine, company is established long before as you stated… but the peak of the online hype is dead unless they collab w some really big musician or pop star ect.
It’s funny because I recently bought one a few weeks ago off of Amazon because I needed a new water bottle since my old one was not keeping my water cold anymore. I still don’t understand why people need more than one. It’s a big ass cup.
I think influencers were buying multiple so they could match the cup to their outfits 🙄 how sad they must feel now that the trend is on owalla cups- which is also insane 🤦🏽♀️

I know the feeling of going to a store as soon as it opens and only 4 other people showed up to buy the same niche video game at 12 in the morning lol. It's always so awkward. One time they did a midnight launch for a game that I don't think anyone but like 4 people in my town knew about and all 4 of us showed up to buy and it was the most awkward as hell moment ever to buy that game.
this video was in my recommended and didn’t fail to impress me !! your production is crisp and so is your explanation. i love seeing fellow black women engaged in social economics and passionate about it
The Australian TH-camr you used I came across once before and her voice is so grating! I couldn’t get through her video and I’m struggling to get through the clip you used of her! Your voice is soothing, use it more😉
I watched her video on kids and tweens romantisising 2013-16 as if it's only about the aesthetics/social media trends of the time, but that clickbaity editing (red/yellow bold italic text, sometimes with underlines, constant sound effects, etc.) led me to never watch the content again more than the voice!!!
I got this cute compact Starbucks tap tumbler that seals in the straw area. Very thin & aesthetically pleasing & BEAUTIFUL baby blue color perfect for summer & spring. I honestly love it way more than my knock off Stanley. I honestly has no idea SB & Stanley had a collab so I wonder if the cup I bought was apart of that unknowingly lol
It's so funny your talking about the specifics of the time the Valentine's Day cup came out. Like how color and time of year can appeal more to a demographic. I saw the red one in a target before I knew how crazy people were going for them. I was really tempted to buy one because I really liked the color but didn't think the price was worth it. I knew nothing about the trend. I don't own Stanleys or anything. And yet I wanted one because of all the things you mentioned on how the color and time of year appeals to a certain demographic
Drinking the water in a plastic to go cup I stole from a bar. They just left it there asking me to get a needed kitchen item for only the ethical price of petty theft
Hey! It might just be locally, but the new Stanley cup in my area is Owala bottles. All the SoCal-ish (inflation-adjusted middle class that would never be seen at a community college type) kids have that cup in my high school.
Hihi, I'm always late to the party, when I even show up for a trend... Because of the practical aspects of said trend. It has it's perks. ;) The spring blue Stanley Cup buying experience, with a bunch of employees relieved to not face armageddon 2.0 sounds blissful. 😜
New subscriber after seeing your commentary video here 😊 I think you're spot on; I believe the chief reason the cups have phased out are these social media fueled microtrends that come and go. Consumerism rages on, people don't care about being ragged on for being on trend, and the lead thing probably didn't dissuade many people. Stanley had their 15 minutes of fame, and now its over. 🤷♀️
8:26 this is completely unrelated but talking about color psychology reminded me of this amazing video called “How Gris made you cry with its colors”. It’s a video game retrospective but it’s interesting how colors have mental correlations, especially when it comes to grief.
I just wanna say this was only ever a thing in america, at least compared to where i live. I live in eastern europe, i've never even seen a stanley cup here lmao. Most of us just use the same 2€ water bottles, if it works no need to change it :)
wow that's interesting I didn't realize it was mainly an American thing but then again Americans have a horrible overconsunsumption issue(not me tho I'm normal I promise)
I’m glad I don’t have IG or TikTok so I hardly ever find out and don’t get sucked into these trends and the hype.😅 I think people are afraid of the alleged lead of the cups so they went down in popularity. Stanley is being sued. I don’t think people want to risk their health for an ugly cup.
I found a really cute Stanley type tumbler at Walgreens for $15…other brands are making similar cups for way less, I think that might be a factor as well. Unrelated but you have REALLY pretty teeth!
Yea five below sells them for way cheaper too in my area it makes no sense to pay 60+ dollars on a cup and thank u for the compliment! I actually don't like my teeth so that just made my day 🥹
Stanley girls also made it into a joke. “Help me pack my Stanley!” I have a Stanley knock off. Had it years and it works well for studying but no one really needs a 40oz cup except for certain circumstance and it’s not practical for on the go. Nice to find you too
I’m sure some people bought the cups later…but honestly, pink is an awesome color and I can see why people loved it. Making a rainbow 🌈 one would honestly be the smartest. But I like the Starbucks ones and buy those
The quality of the video i didnt feel the need to support you/subscribe until i saw a comment that pointed out the sub count, this channel having so little subs is a CRIME
I'm super glad I decided to click on this video! I think this video is super strong, and that you've got a lot of great potential as a creator!! If you don't mind some advice on your video, there were a couple of things I feel could help in the future (I know a little bit about of video production from a hobby/some classes I've taken, for context! Ofc feel free to take anything I say with a grain of salt, and if you choose to implement any thing please do experiment and try whatever feels most compelling to you!!) The start of your video starts with ~ 3 minutes of another video, and you only appear for the first minute so I almost clicked off thinking I clicked on the wrong video (thanks adhd....) It makes for a little bit of a jarring intro, especially when your thoughts/opinions are the main draw for your video. The majority of your video is a completely different from the intro, and I personally find it a lot more appealing! If you want to keep the context of the original video, I know people will sometimes have a "conversation" with the video and cover certain talking points as they go. It is a bit more effort in video and script writing, but it can really help in keeping your voice the central focus as well as diversifying your video from the original. As for your lighting! Try messing around with different backdrops! I did black & white film photography for a few years, and I really liked taking pictures of plushies and toys, and my teacher at the time was telling me about the lighting in my photography. I found that you can think about light and sound in pretty similar ways, especially if you think about how the way they interact with different surfaces (i.e. bouncing or absorbing) In your video, the main things your light is bouncing off are: Your background, your hair, your skin, your glasses, and your sweater. Your background is matte white, from what I can tell. That reflects a lot of light without creating glare, and can do really good for removing you from any specific environment. Similar lighting is often used to showcase things, as a base to add some sort of color in post, or to keep focus entirely in one place. In your case, it also has the unfortunate side effect of removing a lot of the definition and contrast in your hair. Your hair is a similar light color, but it's going to be more textured and shiny. It works similar to your background, but it kinda holds onto the light more rather than spreading it around like the matte background. Your hair!! However!! Does act as a very good frame for your face! I think whatever makeup/skin care stuff you're doing makes your face look very nice on camera! Your hoodies doesn't necessarily stand out much, but that's not a bad thing! It stands enough from your background to make it look like you actually have a body. Looking like a floating head is something I hear people talk about a lot-- Glasses are tricky, but usually you can fix glare by making your bright lights work harder to reflect off of them. Diffusing your lights by putting a thin layer of material on top of them is an option, although in my personal experience leads to fire if left unattended (though this is ENTIRELY my fault--) I also have a light sensitivity, so I try to avoid accidentally looking directly into lights. Instead, I try to experiment with where I point the light itself. Going back to the matte white background from earlier, you can actually use something like that as a place to aim your light, and it will end up reflecting a lot more light than people usually expect. If you have the time and were at all interested, I would recommend going and playing with as many lights as you can get your hands on and seeing how moving them can change the intensity of light. A good first testing ground is a bathroom and a phone flashlight! I have watched the video a few times now while writing this comment, so I can confidentially say I enjoyed it! Even if the subject isn't really something I care about, I find the personality in this video really enjoyable and I'm excited to look into some of your other stuff when I get the chance later! I'm running out of time, but I'm down to answer question/elaborate if need be!
THANK YOUUU I've actually been trying to find ways to better my quality but I don't know where to start or if I needed fancy equipment so this helps a lot! By any chance do u have any advice on how to make my audio sound better cus I have mics but they don't work 😭
Next time something popular drops I’m showing up with professional recording equipment and I’m going to shout “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT” like they do in those high school movies when two kids get shoved into a ring of people to fight
Honestly, I think that because of TikTok, the previous hype itself was over hyped. I kept seeing people show the same two or three videos and yet like this is a nationwide launch at thousands of stores, but people only had three videos of false wild and out and that just became the narrative that that’s just how it was, but I don’t think that’s how it wasn’t most store, think that probably would happen. This time is more like what it was at 99.99% of stores.
I bought a cute knockoff version on Amazon of the Stanley cup, a cute pastel pink and light blue gradient one that looks like cotton candy. It was $22.49, and I still have ice in the bottom of the cup 3-4 days after filling it with ice and water. I bought to take to work as the weather heats up in the sub-tropics where I was live/work, and where I am being exposed to heat. I really like the cup, and I’m 100% OK that it’s a Soufill and not a Stanley. 🤣🤣
I got my first green lime stanley cup.. it was stanely x Starbucks... I love it for my summer season and am thankful for my older brother (who works at Starbucks) he got it for me before anyone else take it.
I mean I got one free from my apartments. I already had a Stanley camp mug and thermos because outdoorsy hiking sort. It's not something you need more than one of.
i thought the stanley cups fell out of favor because it came out that they were loaded with lead. "this product will give you and your children lead poisoning" is enough to deter anyone who's not suffered a certain threshold of lead poisoning yet
I agree with you in a lot of aspects and I think they could have done better marketing. Neon colors would’ve been better for summer cause I think of pride month in June. And when I think spring I think pastel yellows.

eh, I don't think people who bought these cups also gave a shit about the boycott. They were probably also still buying shits from S*arb*cks 🤷♀
@@CordeliaWagner1999 isnt the boycott not only for palestine but because of starbucks terrible treatment of employees?
People chase hype. It doesn't matter what it is. It's part of human psychology. It's not the Stanley cup, it's what the Stanley cup means.
What did it mean
@@missshannonsunshinemoney and status
Watching this while I'm drinking out of my Mother's Day pink flower Stanley cup I bought for myself. Trends come and go, just buy what you like.
why is the girl in the example video always screaming? her videos must be so exhausting 😭
😅 yea I like her vids but I definitely have to turn the volume down quite a bit
I couldn’t tolerate her screaming and her voice so I can’t watch her videos.
😂😂
Was thinking the same thing 😭
two of my coworkers at target were fired because they bought the valentine tumblers/cups the morning of it being released before the store even opened...
I think the terrible color choice had a big impact
My boyfriend randomly brought one home one day and tbh the quality just isn't there? Sure it's huge and keeps my drinks cold for a really long time but it leaks pretty easy and the handle jiggles under its own weight, plus the paint chips of pretty easy
nah $45 for a cup with horrible quality and chipping paint is a crime
For me I never cared much for the cups but I did get a Stanley look alike at five below for $5 so time to see how good the quality is lol.
That’s why I got the one with the handle on the top! Much better & doesn’t mean
Leak*
they're that bad? That's so funny
😭 I purchased my first Stanley from one of those collectors. Opened but unused. I thought about if I actually wanted one for MONTHS before pulling the plunge. Decided I actually DID want, got the only color I actually want, and it’s the only one I’m going to own. That’s it!
They was embarrassed from last time so they was like nah we not doing that again 😂
Why does this girl scream god it's unbearable especially after your calm and soft voice 😭😭😭
Yeah, I sometimes watch her videos since they are informative but I agree her voice is grating and hard to listen too. I think it’s the shouty voice combined with a NZ accent since other NZ TH-camrs are similarly hard to listen to.
I was like WHY is she YELLING and had to turn my volume down super low and could still hear her
@@ZJDB0102 I think her voice is naturally loud and screechy, I kinda feel bad for her.
Lol.
It's the lovely generic tiktok tone 😍
When we really think about it, why would anyone be excited about a new colorway release of a cup? The excitement in February was the confusing part
Ive been finding so many underrated creators nowadays, but you’re the most underrated
How do you only have 700 subscribers???
woahh, we found them before they got super big =o I never notice the subscriber amounts haha
Honestly I like the blue better than the pink but I won’t buy a Stanley SPECIFICALLY because of how embarrassing and cringey people acted during the valentines drop now I associate having a Stanley at all with being one of those types 😭
That may have been one reason for reduced sales. And the mold issue. And the lead issue
I can't stand the whole thing, if i like it, if it's practical and reasonable, I'm acquiring it and I'm keeping it. I'm not gonna buy it because of anyone else and I'm not gonna give it away because of anyone else
Unless you know, it's something we're avoiding as a group 🍉
They should be boycotted. They're involved with Starbucks, therefore involved with a g*nocide.
Even if I was willing to participate in something like that, the lead scares me. Plus I alread have a bottle. No need to buy a new one.
@@no_peaceexactly 🍉🍉🍉🍉
Which kinda sucks. The cup can’t just be a cup for a beverage. It used to be a status symbol and now it’s becoming a symbol of shame. They probably won’t be reduced to a basic functional item until a few years pass.
I would like to hope it’s partly because of awareness of Starbucks' awful treatment of its workers, unions and zionist talking points coming into the public awareness and thus people not wanting to give money to them. One can hope.
I like to call them “Flash Fads” They’re super popular for like 2-3 months- and then go back to being ‘normally’ over consumed. (since- let’s be real- over consumption has NOT being slowing down at all no matter how popular something is)
life is too expensive to worry about a metal cup
I think it's also because of the lead in the cups
Wait there's led in the cups 😶
@@tay-loreits more than "a few cents more" it leads to a product thats more likely to fail, thus being thousands of dollars more when dealing with the inevitable class action the american consumers would attempt. there was no lead where it would pose a risk to consumers, if its that big of a problem go check everything thats for sale. i bet theres lead in things thats actually dangerous, rather than chasing the fake danger of an adult sippy cup
you are so eloquent, im glad the algorithm recommended your video. your well-read commentary and thoughtful insights were really really interesting to hear, even more since no other channel seem to be talking about the dying stanleys shebang. mixing business, marketing, psychology and pop culture commentary in a way so easily digestible must be a lot of work, but it was like a breath of fresh air. ive seen so many people talking about so much stuff without doing any research, or not as much research as they should.

Okay that is kinda a bit sad 😭 I hope they aren’t embarrassed
same lowk.. at least the hate will also go away soon, then they can enjoy using their stanleys in public again behehe

As I thought, they released a Japanese exclusive cup for spring. It’s just a baby pink one, and the box is covered with cherry blossoms.
Great video, I love your presentation! I think it's probably the best possible outcome that stanley cups are no longer a huge fad the way they were, because now most of the people buying new releases will be those who actually need a new cup or have genuine interest in the brand, and not just people who want to fit in or post about it on social media. Your idea for the abstract flower cups also sounds totally cute!
you hit my fyp. just wanna say, good organized video and clear pleasant audio! subbed
FINALLY someone is actually doing a deep dive on this
(absolutely loved your video, I'm so glad to have discovered you!!)
I could see the flower one selling better than the neon or blue . But who knows . The pink was the one I saw all over online
So glad youtube recommended your channel!! I love how thoughtful your commentary is, subscribing! 😊
Also, if I was in charge, coming from a background in illustration with a few years of work in graphic design and marketing , I would have done a springy soft yellow green color to appeal to Gen z and y2k aesthetic as that has remained large for a long while now, maybe one or 2 other colors to go along like a periwinkle blue (more saturation = less calm of the powder blue chosen) , and possibly a saturated pinkish lavender to appeal to the pink crowd, also the combination of these hues = fresh from being on the colder side of colors, and also appeals to older millennials women (big part of their market) who often seem to love spring greens, pinks and purples (from my observations at least, when they are the sort that still enjoy color).
sell and advertise accessories like a little carrier for watertok-ers flavor packets or whatever , bc I think most people who fell into the obsession have realized it may have been over consumption, or a brief obsession, but selling a couple accessories could add an extra draw in, and imply that you can mix and match with the colors ie. showing swappable color lids and straws so you can mix and match and the colors will look very nice fresh and fun together in advertisements= even more appeal.
yeaaaa I thought about the accessories piece too I remember seeing so many little charms for stanley cups that are so popular it would definitely help boost hype
This is really interesting thank u for sharing!
People who have Stanley’s get made fun of or called “cringe” because of the negative press, I think that’s why nobody wants them anymore
why on earth do you only have 724 subs? I thought TH-cam was glitching and refreshed the page lol. welp you've got me hooked, time to subscribe and watch all of your videos in one sitting

Spring green would have been a way better color. Like a bright green I think would’ve been more eye catching.
Lol
sounds mathematically accurate to me
The hype died because tik tok users have the attention span of a gerbil and also because (my theories): 2. they collabed w Starbucks while there is an ongoing boycott against Starbucks, 3. there were viral videos of people fighting over the cops in the winter and now ppl feel corny to stand in line for fear they will be mocked in viral videos, 4.

The Australian TH-camr you used I came across once before and her voice is so grating! I couldn’t get through her video and I’m struggling to get through the clip you used of her! Your voice is soothing, use it more😉
Right? I'm Australian myself, and I like the content that she puts out, but that voice!! Nails on a chalkboard.
The constant yelling reminds me of tiktokers desperately trying to keep their audience of ipad kids engaged
She reminds me of another australian youtuber that's goth. i can't remember her name but she just like her 😭. and the yelling. she also yells too

And yet I wanted one because of all the things you mentioned on how the color and time of year appeals to a certain demographic
yup! color psychology is really cool, I wanna make more videos on it
Drinking the water in a plastic to go cup I stole from a bar. They just left it there asking me to get a needed kitchen item for only the ethical price of petty theft
Another possible thing to add: the color red creates a sense of urgency, while blue is a calming color.
My pick up line used to be "Babe let me buy a Stanley cup"
New subscriber after seeing your commentary video here 😊 I think you're spot on; I believe the chief reason the cups have phased out are these social media fueled microtrends that come and go. Consumerism rages on, people don't care about being ragged on for being on trend, and the lead thing probably didn't dissuade many people. Stanley had their 15 minutes of fame, and now its over. 🤷♀️

Yep! Im from the Uk and this cup hype is definitely a purely American thing. I haven’t heard shit about them other than from😊 the USA internet
the “big dumb cup” skit on SNL definitely didn’t do them any favors
I’m glad I don’t have IG or TikTok so I hardly ever find out and don’t get sucked into these trends and the hype.😅 I think people are afraid of the alleged lead of the cups so they went down in popularity. Stanley is being sued. I don’t think people want to risk their health for an ugly cup.
This video is going viral and hitting algorithms. Congratulations, you’re about to be famous. 🔥🔥🔥
I actually don't like my teeth so that just made my day 🥹
It’s kinda sad how fast time passed 😭
Stanley girls also made it into a joke.

I have a Stanley knock off.

I'm super glad I decided to click on this video! I think this video is super strong, and that you've got a lot of great potential as a creator!! If you don't mind some advice on your video, there were a couple of things I feel could help in the future (I know a little bit about of video production from a hobby/some classes I've taken, for context! Ofc feel free to take anything I say with a grain of salt, and if you choose to implement any thing please do experiment and try whatever feels most compelling to you!!)
The start of your video starts with ~ 3 minutes of another video, and you only appear for the first minute so I almost clicked off thinking I clicked on the wrong video (thanks adhd....)
It makes for a little bit of a jarring intro, especially when your thoughts/opinions are the main draw for your video.
I found that you can think about light and sound in pretty similar ways, especially if you think about how the way they interact with different surfaces (i.e. bouncing or absorbing)
In your video, the main things your light is bouncing off are: Your background, your hair, your skin, your glasses, and your sweater.
Looking like a floating head is something I hear people talk about a lot--
Glasses are tricky, but usually you can fix glare by making your bright lights work harder to reflect off of them. Diffusing your lights by putting a thin layer of material on top of them is an option, although in my personal experience leads to fire if left unattended (though this is ENTIRELY my fault--)
I also have a light sensitivity, so I try to avoid accidentally looking directly into lights.
By any chance do u have any advice on how to make my audio sound better cus I have mics but they don't work 😭
I figured this would happen, but I didn’t think it would be *this* fast

I'll wait until goodwill drops, buy them for 5 bucks

Well for starters we aren’t supporting Starbucks anymore

I got my first green lime stanley cup.. it was stanely x Starbucks...
I love it for my summer season and am thankful for my older brother (who works at Starbucks) he got it for me before anyone else take it.
The answer is LEAD, it killed it
I mean I got one free from my apartments.
