I think Pahud is the only flute player that I have seen that actually takes the flute from the student.
And makes it sound as good as his own gold flute... :)

@@REd-cf3bu yeah this was 3 years ago pre-covid. And people are far too precious about hygiene. Without germs we have no immunity anyway.
I have more respect for the flute, its beautiful instrument to play or to see someone perform playing it :)
I play the flute and have to say I agree. When I was young, I probably started out on the flute as much for practicality as any other reason, but the amount of control you have over the sound of the flute is pretty incredible, so I've never regretted my choice. Now I just need to do far more with it than I ever have up to now.
If you think he doesn't say much, then it is because he is demonstrating by example. From this clip it looks to me like he is a very good teacher...
looks like a great guy--very giving and humble with an earthy sense of humor--a natural teacher. i'm bowled over--looks so much like my brother---just a regular guy from the office--cept this one's a musical genius!
I could swear this was a piece by Prokofiev, it's really his style; mysteriously elegant, in a way russian composers seem to have. I actually didn't know Carl Nielsen, it's brilliant to find out another great musical talent.
I love this piece. Learned it college. Never for to perform it with orchestra though. One of my favorite flute concertos.
I also love watching him coach.
