Thanks a lot for this guide, I had code 1186 and the engine could not rev higher than 3000rpm. A new fuel filter solved that problem! One thing I will recommend for anyone reading is DO NOT unscrew the clamps on the fuel filter and turbo completely. Leave them threaded like you did here. I unscrewed the first one and lost the bits down the bottom of the engine when I was trying to put it back together.
Thanks for this. I've never worked on a diesel before and was daunted without a service manual. Didn't know where to start or what was involved. This made it a piece of cake!
Nice video, showing where all the bits are , and how to remove it. The only thing I would say that was missing was showing everyone how to pump the air out of the fuel line by pushing down on black knob on top of the fuel filter casing until the gas spurts out the fuel port, then connecting the orange and blue fuel lines. This video helped with finding it's location in the engine bay and how easy it is to do cheaply. Thank you
On our 2010 i30 I changed the filter without removing air duct or the entire shroud. Just remove top nuts from the shroud and flex it away from firewall at which point you can remove filter housing bolts and wriggle it out past the intake duct.
Thanks, I needed this to remind me how to do it! It might be a good idea to put a plastic bag over the turbo inlet so you don't accidentally drop any small tools or screws in it. Just make sure you take it off when ready to fit the air hose back on.
Top. Bitte weiter so. Vielen Dank.
To @DIY Khan:..............Very well done. As a layman, I can do it myself at home and don't have to go to the workshop, which just rips me off. Question, can I also open the diesel fuel filter at the top of its lid and only replace the filter inside, i.e. take it out and insert the new paper filter? So take out the old filter and put in a new filter?................Thumbs up for this video and I'm subscribed to the channel with a bell. Top. Please keep it up. Thank you.
Hello. Great video! My car is motorcode: D4FB-L, CRDi 16v, 2011 mod. Is this an engine (motorcode): D4FB-L ? There are filter with 6 holes and 8 holes.
Why do manufacturers make regular service items so difficult to get to? The i30 isnt as bad as some. I notice that one of his mounting nuts was missing and one of the fuel lines had a broken retainer clip. Thats what happens when manufacturers mount stuff awkwardly.
@@diykhan ok i did it by pressing it and the car started , buy now i im abit afraid maby is air inside again and can cause maby problems?!🤔what do you think ? Since i didnt bleed it
Thank you for this video. I just helped my son replace his fuel filter and your video made this very easy for us.
Good to hear from you. Thanks

Just done mine 👍
Wow great work 👏
Clip broken off on my fuel pipe can I use cable ties?or it will leak?
The cable ties n fix it for the time being but its best to buy new clip.
Couldn’t you just remove it whiteout the cage ? If you loosen the upper 2 screws and the cables etc ?
I found the way the easiest and I m not sure about the other way. Good luck 👍
Make sure when disconect grey plug push RED clip under first! Without this never unplug it or damage plug. Can't paste photo here 😐
Tks man !
You are welcome thanks
Thanks mate
Thank you 😊
is it the same for KIA Ceed?
