Just had mine installed at Tiny rig a couple weeks ago. Thanks for the referral George. So far it is amazing. I have installed the ammo box slide and large cupboard. Next up is the table slide and table plus the fridge slide once I get the goose gear deck plate installed.
Great video George. Can you mount any auxiliary gear onto side windows? Are there any mounting screws/brackets on outside windows for spare fuel or MaxTrax?
After much digging looks like 125lb base weight. That is very good. But my build revolves around the molle of my Evo A doors too much to justify a swap for a modest weight reduction. Had I not gone down the SmartCap road though I would be having a lot of deliberation between the two.
I keep watching more videos on this but I still haven’t seen what the doors look like from the inside. Like can you open them from inside if your out camping in the box? Or can you prevent the doors from locking shut from the inside? I wouldn’t fit my ass out that little window if it did lock shut on me lol.
I live quite near Tiny Rig Co and checked out the topper in person, and I’m debating whether to purchase one for my Tacoma. You cannot lock yourself inside but you can certainly create something where you can lock yours in.
@@FRANK-cents I had a chance to take a closer look this weekend at MULE Expedition Outfitters in issaquah, Washington this weekend when they were putting on their annual open house. There was a Ali-Cab Contour canopy on display in their showroom. As far as I can tell, there is no door to paint contact. The marks in the video might have been there from some other type of use. I should have taken pics, but it looks like the door only makes contact with the plastic on top of the tailgate.
@@Crushimwtf 👍 nice 1 , ive been looking at a few different canopies. the rsi n alu look good , think ill get the alu contour . i prefer the 1 piece unit + it looks more dog friendly with the window sliders and vent + they do an extra cab version for the hilux 👍 gotta get spray in liner done 1st , think ill do along the top edges just to make sure theres no damage 😎
Hi mate have u had any problem with this canopy regards to the weight? As it does hold 150kg only… so, does that means if I put a rooftop tent let's say 70kgs and myself 85kgs end up 150kgs myself and the bloody RTT so couple can't sleep on top of it? 🤔😣
I needed to fit four, so none of the camper type canopy would work. Plus, when we inevitably move to an offroad trailer, i can still keep the canopy on the truck. It's more versatile.
That entire setup looks amazing. That canopy is pretty legit, Alu-Cab really raised the bar on this one! Another great video guys, keep them coming!

When did you order it? Did you have to wait long?
Thanks, George! 🖤
Dude this things "Good to the Core!!"
So sick!!! .
personally i think all the windows are just another way for someone to break inside. i like everything else about it
you`ll always have the rear window anyway🤷♂
That looks pretty amazing actually. Really like it. Hopefully they make some for 2nd gen Tacomas
Looks awesome and I'm definitely going to pick one up, but I'm hesitant to get one with side windows. Seems like an easy smash and grab for thieves.
Does the cab door open from the inside if one decides to camp in the truck bed?
As always, thank you for the great video!
Wow this is really slick.
Great canopy 🤩
❓ Does the back cabin camera (Ram truck) teach the bed? Or is it covered by the canopy? Thanks

It's not made to open from the inside. I'll try pushing on the lock mechanism from the inside to see if it pop the latch out when I get home.
"Order in any color as long as it's black"... Must get so hot inside on sunny days.
Very nice. They don't seem to make this canopy for full size trucks. I just want the canopy without the full cabin.
Nice topper. How long did it take to install?
How much is this newest edition?
DO THEY MAKE THIS CONTOUR CAP WITH WINDOWS FOR THE TUNDRA? 2023 ?
Does the rear door lip start to mar the paint on the tailgate where it makes contact?
i was just wondering that ? looks as there is some paint damage in the vid 👀

Damm George. You go through more campers than anyone I know. I wish I had that kind of money.....lol
does it fit on a mid-size truck with a six foot bed or is there another model that would fit the longer bed?
Does this work with second gen Tacoma
Yeah, I have the explorer canopy previous to this one. Love it. Wish it had the positive flow vent though.
Any chance to order that part and retrofit?
@@pleinairbarnettoutdoors not that I’m aware of??
Awesome setup! New subscriber here! Do you know the roof weight capacity, dynamic and static? Keep up the great content!

Wet nice setup? Have your been to Haida Gwaii lately
Pls. what's the total hight (with closed tent)? I have 219cm garage limit. Thanks in advance.
It changes depending on suspension and tire size
How are you with the payload?
George did it affect your millage either way?
You changed your set up again?!?!
Nope. Just stopped by to check it out, it’s rad!
Can you open the doors from inside ?
not if it's locked from the outside.
Is there an option to get it insulated?
Nothing from Alu-Cab directly. Nothing off the shelf.
Price?
Is this more than a Leer?
Looks similar to the RSI SmartCap EVO.
Just lighter and stronger than the RSI
Wannabe smartcap
they both look nice , but i prefer the 1 piece design of alu .
The canopy looks great and very functional. Is that an Alu-Cab RTT on top of your canopy?
Yes
@@bustabeatgeorge Can you access the RTT from INSIDE your canopy or only from the OUTSIDE using a ladder?
Tuyet voi.❤❤❤
I’m tryna love this but the fit between the cab and topper bothers me too much.
This would be great for dogs
NO screens on slider windows?
My concern as well. Would be nice to have the security screen as well to prevent theft if someone breaks the glass
Any leaks?
My buddy has two older ones for sale.
I like this ALU CAB will look good on my gladiator, I left tiny rig a msg to call me
Smart Cap looks better.
I thought so too. But this doesn't have any seams. So I went with this instead.
Dep.
Makes no sense to have a truck cap then slap a pop up on it that you can't access from the lower cap area...

That’s my question as well.
