Emma, I am grateful for your effort so much. In fact, I got the desired grade in the IELTS test in 2015 after I watched some of your videos back then. That time I wasn't aware of the tutorial-video trend on TH-cam, but after I had a notion to search for IELTS advice on the internet, I found your videos in the front place, and I lived by them! After I passed the exam, I became extremely thankful to you! Thank you for those videos that come in handy... each single one of them! Now, I graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree, and my English improved to a level I would never dream of in the past, and it opened me doors to communicate and learn from many different sources that if I had been exposed to them, I would have stopped continuing to learn.
Very good advice about "Let me rephrase that." That is a very good point, for anyone who might be doing a speaking test or even a job interview. Very useful video.

I took several TOEIC tests in the late 1990s and early 2000s and got scores ranging from 780 to 870 out of 990. In S.Korea, many undergraduate students prepare TOEIC to get a better job. In engVid, I can see more lessons for IELTS than other tests. It seems to me that IELTS is much more challenging than TOEIC. IELTS is essential when someone wants to immigrate or to study in English spoken countries. I think that IELTS requires a lot of effort, preparation, concentration and strategy.

Now I’m an ESL instructor, and one of the courses that the institution asked me to teach is IELTS preparation class. I was not confident in the beginning, especially as a former ESL student, this test was a big deal “nightmare” to me. For the ones saying she would have a nice score only because she's a native.... One thing is speaking the language Another comple diferent thing is being able to answer questions about the language. Most people know how to speak their mother tongue, but not necessarily know how they speak. I'm a Portuguese native speaker and I know for a fact that people score very badly whenever there are Portuguese related questions on a test.

Hi Emma! I'm also an ESL teacher, and although I have already taken CAE and CPE, I froze during the IE:TS listening part. I totally lost concentration during the last part of the listening paper! So it's kind of nice to know that I'm not the only who had problems with the listening paper! I got 7.5 on my listening! Quite disappointing really! But you so much for sharing your experience! The IELTS is really tricky. I remember being daunted before the interview, so I drank some alcohol before the test. It kind of worked OK!
