If it's brand new then you most likely will not have legacy support so you can skip that part of the video. Although most HPs typically come with a one year warranty. If you got it in January I would call it under warranty to get it fixed. It really shouldn't be having problems that fast

Hey. I got this error like 3 or 4 times during last 2 months, and every time while I play some game, like GTA 5 or F1. Do you know why it only happens during playing game. I tested everything, says hdd and other stuff works fine, drivers are up to date as well. Windows 10.
I would try checking your Windows logs. Windows logs every time it runs into an error and will give you the information you can google to see what caused the error. You can access these logs by doing this: You can do this by Press ⊞ Win + R on the M-Files server computer. In the Open text field, type in event viewer and click OK. Expand the Windows Logs node. Select the Application node. Now from here look for the date and time you had the blue screen. It should have recorded an event at this date and time with a red icon or yellow one next to it showing a problem. You'll recognize it because it looks bad. Click on one of these events. Down below it will give you an event ID number. You can google this to pinpoint what is causing the problem.

Let me know if you have any more questions:)
I dont have Legacy support & got my Laptop in 2023 for 1k. Cant believe already has problems. Already at 1:13, Dont knowwhat to do. Ill have to call Best Buy Geek Squad for help
If you bought it recently it still may be under warranty. I would check your warranty before sending it in. You can check the warranty by entering your serial number on HP's support website
support.hp.com/us-en/check-warranty
I dont see legacy support evrey vidieo i click on it dosen show on my windows 11 why is that
New computers don't have it but if you upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 then you may have it. For that reason, we included it in the video.
Ive watched tried this several times and with the different setting configurations as mentioned. The computer resets, asks to enter the 4 digit password and hit enter, then loads for a bit, and then returns to the original error screen of boot device not found. Any ideas or suggestions? I need this laptop for work and im literally crying. Its an HP specture if that helps. The settings menu looks to be laid out a little differently than any of the videos ive seen.
What happens when you run the diagnostic? Does everything pass?
yeah, but it kept saying that "Boot device not found" and I can't find the legacy option. Please help.
my laptop was dropped and this appeared but the format for the bios is different and the legacy boot option isn’t available, any suggestions?
Does look like an older version of BIOS? if so then try this video:

@@EggheadFixersI fixed it all I had to do was disconnect and reconnect my hard drive
@@maygutierrez2643 Nice! Glad to hear it
Ничего не помогло, проверка f2 ошибок не нашла,, и синее меню, как у вас, не появилось. 😢
Попробуйте вместо этого нажать Esc
But where is the legacy support button😢
If you do not have that option in BIOS then you can skip to the next step in the video. What happens when you run the diagnostic?
I can't find legacy support

@@EggheadFixersI disable secure boot and enable it again, it works. But again the problem came back again :(
@@corpuzluisajane2681 You may need to try reinstalling Windows. Good put a Windows problem.
thank you very much, one stupid kid was give me winlocker
Glad we could help!!
Nothing happened when we pressed escape.
The computer needs to be started when the computer is completely off for it to work. You only have a short period of time to hit ESC and access BIOS. You have a window of about 2-3 seconds. It can take several attempts to get it just right.
Legacy is on by default and secure boot is off by default pls help me
What happened when you ran the diagnostic?
@@EggheadFixers says not installed when I did it the second time but the first time it said passed pls help me I left my laptop on earlier left for a bit came back and got the boot error idk what to do
@@EggheadFixers pls help me
@@WalmartBoysRandomStuff If sometimes it doesn't read the hard drive as being installed then it could be that the hard drive is starting to fail. Does it only give you a boot error sometimes?
@@EggheadFixers all the time also i get cmos errors from time to time
Esc and I don't get that
Did the Esc key not work for you?
Short dst failed
Then unfortunately you will need to replace the drive.
There is no legacy support on windows 11
It says no hard drive installed
First I would try what we call reseating the hard drive which means unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Then rerun the diagnostic. If that does not work then it's most likely that you need a new hard drive. Sometimes when a hard drive really dies the motherboard doesn't read it as being installed. Here is a video on how to replace your hard drive and install an operating system:

I don’t see boot options
That can be a sign of a hard drive problem. What happens when you run the diagnostic? Does everything pass?
@@EggheadFixers I droped my computer and it turned off and it showed the screen
@@SpeedwayyBrae1 It could be the hard drive came loose when you dropped it. I would check the connection. It could have also damaged the hard drive itself but I would check the connection first.
