I love that interaction between Saint Germain and Sala. Just that look and impact when he learns what the symbol means. That is when I knew he was more than just crazy but insane in his zealotry.
13:23 That orange night creature is a merman, a common enemy that's appeared in most of the Castlevania games; obviously, they attack you from places with water. In some games, they look closer to the night creature here 14:17.
Everyone always talks about Trevor, Alucard, Sypha and Isaac whenever talking about their favorite characters but Lenore is truly one of the best written characters in the show. I truly loved every scene she was in and love the juxtaposition of her and Camilla in the court.
I can’t remember but I feel like it’s implied that Carmella’s sisters either served the same master or came from similar situations. She saved them and this gained their loyalty and love. And now she’s constantly coming up with crazy schemes that can make their lives better (like taking the castle they call home) and they’ve worked out in the end. Now, they’re all looking at the next crazy ass scheme and past experiences are helping convince them of her plan.
Every reactor I've seen so far has again made this assumption, Sumi and Taka are not siblings. They just look a little similar. This is an especially important distinction given a later episode. 👀👀
I had to go back and watch the fight with the vampires in Dracula's court, and discovered it was Sypha that took out Chō. The fight took a grand total of 15 seconds as Chō tried facing off against Alucard in mist form before Sypha used her cryomancy magic to literally freeze and break her.
And you're given another peek into Isaac's madness. In the show, his madness was the result of the terrible cruelty he faced throughout his life; with Dracula's death and Hector's betrayal stoking it further. In the game however, Isaac's madness was more the result of a curse Dracula placed on the land, after his death. The curse brought famine and plague, but also stirred up the darker, more violent impulses in humanity; thus why the game is called "Curse of Darkness". Giving in to those darker impulses (such as resorting to violence or inflicting malice on others) will drive the afflicted further and further into madness; until they are little more than a feral beast. The monks behavior in the show could also be seen as a nod to the curse; especially since it was caused by a night creature.
This was one of those episodes that makes me think we got robbed just for the sake of a show. Like, look at the scene with Cho; she’s been around for centuries and has honed her fight skills over those centuries… then dies in 2 minutes without a single line in the show back in s2. Oh well…

7:25 I love how you guys said "NO" in unison

Hector has a blanket now, and promises of boots! If he keeps at it, he may get his own poop bucket like Prior Sala! #goals
Lenore is the diplomat for a reason. 13:20 Yep, she drives a hard bargain of a good hustle.
Even I'd be convinced...
Love her sass too.
For as misguided and foolish Hector can be, he got one thing exactly right: vampires are like cats. They play with their food.
Moral of the story: just be nice to each other :D

It is important to note that the Japanese visitors are not siblings. They just look very similar.
5:57 this phrase always reminds me of God of War now
