Hey Jake, I was Commander in the first match, thanks for the carry dude. I dont main Destiny 2, I mostly play Dota 2 which is an entirely different genre of game. I have 6k hours in that. Ive been trying to get back more into FPS games recently and I never really practice getting adjusted and MnK aiming. Its hard but Im learning and Ive been watching your videos to learn more aspects of them game then just aim and shoot. So for the tough match haha
As a fairly new older gamer that has started gaming to fill the gap after building a career and being able to retire early, I really enjoy your videos and style of game play. I feel I am pretty accomplished in PVE, but really suck in PVP. Going forward and getting a little bored with the current state of PVE, and after watching multiple content creators, I've decided to bite the bullet, swallow my ego, and try to get better at PVP with your videos as my guide. Thanks and keep doing what you are doing.
Jake I just want to say I watched this video and another in this playlist and I instantly found myself playing better. My aim though i wiff every now and then as everyone does, is still pretty solid. It was how I approached things that made me a bad player. You've given me a new perspective on the thought process in pvp. Thank you I appreciate it so much!
I love your commentary cards Jake. Almost more than Copycat cards, but those are just so much fun. It puts ideas to solve situations in games in my head and definitely has helped me clutch rounds, or just play more solid. Thanks boss!
Love the commentary cards, so much good insight. I'd love to see commentary cards on Titan and Warlock as well in the current meta/balance patch to see how a high level player uses the kits with the new cooldowns/recharge rates.
Your awareness at 10:41 to know the enemy went to the lower ground and didn't swing around the upper platform is astounding. I replayed this section about 5 times before I realized it was only possible by getting a split second glance at the radar and react accordingly. That moment was possible through incredible perceptiveness and experience. Very inspiring.
I quit d2 a few months after Forsaken but i still stop in from time to time just to check my favorite destiny streamer, fantastic content, glad to see GJake still slaying in trials.
Jake’s first game is a prime example of how most of my matches go with teammates, just get the unfortunate pair which make my games rough. Sometimes I can 1v3 or sometimes I can leave the scene enough for a super easy clean up. Matches with all good players on each time are my favorite and fun matches. The randomness of the matchmaking is a wild thing now but it makes for interesting weekends depending on the map
i was the one of the warlocks on the intense match where u lost, specifically sharpiesniffing intense game had to lock in to win. entire goal for me was too play back and safe too support my teammates because they were much better. thats oine thing ive learned if ig u have teammate better than u whihc is gonna happen most of the time, PLAY AROUND THEM DO NO TRY TO BE THE MAIN CHARACTER IF U CANNOT PLAY WEll. ggs tho jake
as a good player (i double carry in solo q regularly and work for a company doing paid carries on the weekend) THANK YOU. i tell my teammates in team chat often, “just live! i can kill all 3 of them, i just need you to survive long enough to give me the chance” and when they listen the game immediately turns around. it doesnt mean hide in a corner, but it does mean be extra conscious of your decisions. again, thank you for being the teammate that is aware that they may not be as experienced as someone else and is willing to play a safe support roll👍good luck on ur cards man
I’m telling you that as a aggressive solo, legend elo trials player, the best thing you can do if you get good teammates and you are not performing good is to just STAY ALIVE. I can almost guarantee a kill on the enemy but if both my teammates die before I even get the chance it makes it extremely hard to win rounds. Having 2 teammates that purely just STAY ALIVE gives me much better odds vs picking off people on the enemy team.
This video was really good. I always get mad at my teammates for being crap, they are never with me and die instantly for the most part, I think I'll adapt my gameplay around them when I get less skilled teammates nxt time.
How do you run 36 resilience? If I run low resilience the opponents sneeze on me and and I die. I really enjoy the narration as you progress through the match. Great tips, will keep them in mind next time I play.
I feel like token progress based matchmaking is actual cringe. If it's a competitive pvp mode why doesn't it just use SBMM? My main observation from running it for the first time since rise of iron D1 last weekend was that. I get ridiculously easy rounds. And then put against at least two people with gilded flawless titles. It's frustrating.
True. The majority of players on my FL are 1.5 and below players our trials lobbies after first win are 9/10 one of us vs 2.15+ players. That’s with all three queues. It’s in console btw.
@ashen9381 it probably doesn't use SBMM because then no one would go flawless. Everyone would be sweating their asses off every game. They have to make it somewhat welcoming. It's weird though. I experience the same. I'll have cake walk games, and then outta nowhere I get the hardest game of my life.
@KryotekAngel I'm on console too. I'm a 1.5 K/D and matched a 3.4 k/d player. Then my teammates were negative k/ds. He has 1 positive player and one negative k/D player. How tf did that happen ?
@kenpachi2607 This is the problem, though. I don't think trials is welcoming at all right now. You win four-five games, and you're feeling really good. Only to get stomped by a team with 3 flawless titles. Hell I've even had tickets destroyed within the first THREE games. Trials will never be welcoming. It's insanely unfair.
one thing to realize about bad teammates is that they are genuinely trying their hardest usually, please don't be mean to them they just want cool stuff from trials, don't discourage them from playing!
Want to put it out there Jake, I watched this in stream and it honestly completely changed how I look at crucible. I had never gotten we ran medals and I always felt like I was just decent at crucible but after watching this I have truly made massive strides and have gotten 3 we ran medals in a week and got my flawless this weekend because of the help from this video. My weekly k/d average went from a 1.3 to being a 2.4 this week
Jake, thank you for this amazing video. I have been trying to get better at PVP and this video is going to be a big help. For too long I have been that guy where I am useless and I felt bad. How do I get better with hand cannons in PVP?
Its honestly really nice to see someone have such success in endgame PVP and not be toxic. I myself being a mediocre pvp player who has started watching your videos to see where i can break bad habits and learn good ones, i appreciate the level of understanding and patience you have with randoms that arent on the same skill level as you. You have earned my subscribe. Thanks for the great content!

Loved this vid. Legitimately wanted to make me jump back into Trials. Jake may be the nicest and most patient person I've ever seen. A pleasure to watch man, keep up the great work.
Any Xbox players ever had this issue when launching destiny 2 on Xbox and it makes you start a new account even though if you sign into bungie it shows your account that is linked?

Thanks for highlighting just how bad playing trials solo really is. I played 35 games and only won 5. This needs to be addressed for better balancing and better teammates. It's hard to play a team based mode as a solo. And honestly I want to play it more and get better but constantly playing in frustration makes it hard to want to care about getting better

As a purely solo trials player get used to having useless teammates bro it’s so frustrating I’m not like jake it enrages me. You’re ruining the expierience for other players and ofc I get the two timmies who have no brain and just stare at a wall in a corner for the entire match. As soon as I see the goofy movement and that walk they all do I just know it going to be a L.

Jake, I usually agree with you, but when you said bad players have very little impact on the match you're in, that is an absolutely wrong. You wanna know what his mentality is just watch the 1st match, “useless, gonna lose, its all on me” wins “im not being rude”, im just proud he wasn’t ranting about cheating that wasnt even happening in a match
Enough with these trials commentary, tell us what solos can do to lesson us pulling our own hair because teammates want to stand right in the open with no cover in every round?
Agreed. So many clueless teammates. Seems like RNG either i get great teammates or shit then match again flawless players. They really need to bring back the solo que AND the flawless pool
Big dog I have been in a game where my team did 0 dmg to the other team for 2 rounds. I also won a game with 0 kd😅, thanks to teamates. I am not good. I will have to watch this alot. countdown#5853 . I complain to much. Having skill issues is hard on mental. The only way to get better is to keep playing. I just wish I allowed myself fun while trying to learn.

Play trials with me this weekend, I’ll send ya my gamer tag
Big dog I have been in a game where my team did 0 dmg to the other team for 2 rounds. I also won a game with 0 kd😅, thanks to teamates. I am not good. I will have to watch this alot. countdown#5853 . I complain to much. Having skill issues is hard on mental. The only way to get better is to keep playing. I just wish I allowed myself fun while trying to learn.
I did start doing better on cauldron when running in with my team and throwing all my abilities in middle, also I started using side arm and positive results
