"Rebirth" is meant to manifest the act of change in people's lives. Change can be an exciting experience where one feels like he or she is "living in the fast lane." At the same time, change can be an ominous and foreboding experience. All emotions come alive in the song (sometimes simultaneously).
If executed well, change can feel renewing. Life-giving. Joyous.
Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" was an inspiration for the final version of this song.
