At the end of your video, you mention that this ROM (8.1 Oreo) isn't "stable." In what manner do you mean? I'd like to follow your very clear instructions to root and get rid of bloatware to make my phone function well for a year or two more. I'm constantly running out of space on my S5 despite a nice SD card etc. Not looking to do anything fancy, just outlook, google apps, twitter, facebook etc. Is it stable for mainstream apps such as that? At the time of making the video the rom wasnt stable a few things were not working main thing being the camera but i think most of the isdues have been fixed now so feel free to give this rom a try if u dont like it u can revert back to your stock firmware
uh oh - got to the 9:40 mark odin... AP download the twrp.3.0 file and it "failed." Phone says downloading, do not turn off target, odin 3 is frozen... "reboot download if possible" is only option that is live, but clicking that does nothing :(

No u can use internal storage if u don't have SD card but be careful not to wipe internal storage when your in the twrp or else u will wipe the ROM and gapp files from the phone

The error says insufficient space on the system patron" but when I had to restart the phone it seems like Samsung 8.1 opens. I have arm.8.1 installed. because arm64 did not install from your link. on my s5.now says the phone when rebooting top left in the display set warranty kernel --in yellow. otherwise the system runs well. the sim card reception is sometimes gone and wlan too, but comes back after a short time, which is a pity for me that all samsung apps do not want to work. especially the gear app for my gear s with tizen. the app says at startup the operating system of the phone was changed in an unauthorized way and is not compatible with samsung applications kompiebel check your sistem .. do you have an idea ?????

I had the same issue, just ask google assistant to "dim the screen" thats what worked for me after I did that the brightness slider worked perfectly for me

sanjay lama I dont know your the only person facing that issue this tutorial worked for everybody else perfectly fine ,i suggest u flash your stock firmware watch my video how to flash stock firmware the link is in the description to watch that video hopefully it should fix the phone if it doesnt then its not a firmware or software problem its most likely a hardware issue meaning your screen will need to be replaced

No luck here as well, after I downloaded the link, it told me the application was unable to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect..
im not sure but feel free to try it just do a backup using the backup option in twrp recovery mode b4 installing this rom ,just to be safe incase it dont work u can go back in to twrp and restore your phone using the restore option

Is ID:COM blue or grey when connected to odin if grey your missing the drivers if blue your good to go, so maybe u could try another version of odin maybe😆 A quick google searh can provide u with diffrent odin versions to download GOODLUCK

This version of Android is as buggy as an entire ants nest. But otherwise a good tutorial. I'd definitely wait for a more stable build.

When trying to connect the phone to Odin3, I go to the download reboot screen and it doesn't show the phone on the ID:COM. Any reasons why?

Thank you I just tried the ARM for 8.1 Pico and the google play service keeps crashing, any recommendation?
Chess Davis try reboot if that dont fix it try factory reset if that dont fix it let me know and i will give u another gapps to try
Chess Davis also u can try all the other arm 8.1 gapps packages just make sure its arm 8.1 the arm 64 packages fail to install

My Odin desn't see img.tar files. only zip of a tar image file. What am I doing wrong?
Try change the option to look for ALL FILES u can find it where u search the tar image on your pc there should be like a little arrow poing down or something like that
@@TheRealAndroidDoctor there is only one option which is tar files. Maybe I'm missing drivers or something.
Is ID:COM blue or grey when connected to odin if grey your missing the drivers if blue your good to go, so maybe u could try another version of odin maybe😆
A quick google searh can provide u with diffrent odin versions to download GOODLUCK
