I don’t know a lot about guinea pigs, but it makes sense that the boys are happier because they have more light or something… Idk it just was the first thing that came in my mind when I thought about why it could possibly be, but that also doesn’t mean that Kevin is gonna be less happy in a darker place. I’m so sad that people are hating on your enclosures, they are literally so AMAZING!! Please don’t let them get to you you’re wonderful just the way you and your piggies are!
This is just a suggestion, you don’t have to do this but if you want to get them more familiar with each other so they do get mad through the bars. I would recommend making the cages the same size or close to the same size. Every day or so you switch Kevin and the girls, so they can get used to each others scents. So that they don’t argue through the cage. Btw: 3x4 is about the same size as a 2x6. Also a 3x5 is the same size as a 2x7 but one square bigger.

I’ve dealt with fighting gerbils drawing blood and trying to do a split cage so I really empathise with the stressfulness of this process and how anxious it can make you (obviously different animals but similar behaviours). Really admire your persistence

I completely understand how hard it is to bond, I had issues bonding my four girls because one of mine is super dominant. It’s hard to know what to do because you’ll receive critique no matter what your decision. You’re an amazing pet parent and I know you know your pets best and will do what’s best for them ♥️ thank you for sharing your experience
This reminds me when I first got my piggie's buddy. I first got Autumn from a local pet shop (I wasnt that knowledgable back then). About 3 months later a friend was moving away and couldnt take his piggie so I brought her in. Zelda was the sweetest piggie I've ever met. When I started the bonding, Autumn was trying to be the dominate one but Zelda won in size and age. I spent almost a month until they could finally be in the same cage together. I tried having them in the same cage with a grid separating the two, switching them between the two sides, one to twice a week I would take them to their little outside garden so they had plenty of space to run and check each other out, supervised of course. Now they are the bestest of friends (plus one but Chavela is very submissive). I think they compromised and became co-alphas lol. I believe it can work out, just takes time and commitment. I'm sure they'll snuggle all together soon. Much love

I wish all places all over the world would make people learn and take a test before adopting/buying any kind of pet. A lot less animals would die/be abused if they did.
Pumpkin and Spice are super cute :) You've got such an adorable herd now! Bonding is tricky and stressful, and you handled it really well! The amount of love and care you have for your pigs is incredible, and it shows in your videos. It took three attempts for me to successfully bond my two boys, but I think that's because the younger one was going through his hormonal phase (he was 7 months when I first got him). I kept them side-by-side and tried re-introductions every few weeks, and after the third one they seemed familiar/comfortable with each other. Obviously all piggies are different, so your situation might turn out differently than mine, but the set up you have right now looks like it's working out great!

You're gonna need a whole guinea pig room once you move lol! Your enclosures are really nice imo, the sizes are good & they have a lot of enriching items. Even if Kevin & the girls don't bond, it's still a big quality of life improvement for Kevin to see & hear other pigs & get to interact with them through the bars. If Kevin doesn't bond with the girls but you still wanna find him a buddy, I'd suggest trying with a younger pig, like a 6-8 month old. Younger pigs are more likely to submit to older pigs, & older pigs are less likely to feel threatened by juveniles.

Your enclosure is really good and I used to have a store-bought cage. Now I have a 4x4 with a 2x2 add-on. I am very happy I found your channel because if I didn't my guinea pigs wouldn't have much space to popcorn.
I think the rainbow fleece forest that extra piece does go under the flimsy top piece just to keep it more stable! It’s actually pretty cool it’ll make it look much better quality.
Hey! I was wondering if you could do a video comparing guinea pigs and rats as pets? As a piggy owner, I don't know much about rats, but I am very interested in owning at least a pair and was wondering how they are as pets compared to pigs. From what I've read, they seem like rather different animals. I think the crowd for owning guinea pigs and rats interwines a lot though so I think a lot of people would be interested. :)

I definitely think once you’ve had them “”together”” sniffing each other through the bars and living in the same space for a few weeks and generally getting used to each other’s presence it might be worth trying the bonding process again, obviously if fights still happen then they’re better off separate but I would love for them to have another chance to all live together. Maybe try switching beds from Kevin’s side to the girls and vice versa every couple of days so they get used to having things with each other’s scents on so when you reintroduce them it isn’t as scary for them? Fingers crossed they do manage to bond in the end 💞
I would also love a first couple weeks vlog! I hope they do get along and can be together but at least Kevin has company even if they don’t live together, they can live next to each other and spend time together! ❤️

When I introduced my female guinea pig to two new ones (a female and one neutered male). The new female was very dominant. They also bit each other and my old female got bitten, blood was drawn. I’m from Germany and every expert here told me to separate them completely in different rooms for 2-3 nights. After that I even set up a bigger area like 3 square meter and then it started that my old female was very dominant. The people told me it will look very rough and it did. My old female bit them both in the butt. But after 2 weeks it worked out and I put them in their original enclosure. Recommend size for 2-3 guinea pigs in Germany is 2 square meter which is like 21,5 square feet. Crazy how it’s different from country to country.

What a perfect solution. Maybe Kevin prefers to have his own space, much like some people. I knew you wouldn’t return the girls, so you made everything work. There is a lot of light on the top cage maybe that’s why the boys are so happy. They are all happy now. Great idea.
Setting them next to each other so they get to know each other and stables who's dominant has work for my pigs. Can't wait for an update video btw I'm looking into adopting a mouse.. so im sit back and wait for your next mouse video too lol

The puppy pads or as I call them pee pads usually what I do is put it under the fleece it litter and if the pee gets through it protects It so you don't have to wash or scrub it 😆 hope that helped
I hade the same thing with my Guinea Pigs and they just fought for 2 days and they were in the same closure we never separated them and now they get along and can never be apart there so bonded
Ur expression when u notice ur gp drawing blood is exactly same as mine. When i get a new gp i were very hopeful that my gp will get along but unfortunately they dont. They are very sweet to each other when i separated their cage like they sniff and sleep next to each other although separated by cage. But when i reintroduce them many time they just kept fighting. I let them separated for now but i will try to reintroduced them again in future. I hope everything going well with ur bonding process. Love from Malaysia

iIs good to put the extra cage up between them, guinea pigs can jump right over the single grid, they just dont know it! Also I had pigs that got used to each other, took like 6 months tho, good luck and thanks for the video

We kind of went trough the same thing last week. Just a different ending. We adopted a neuterd male from a local rescue last saturday. We already had 2 girls. The bonding with our girls was not smooth at all. One of my girls is very dominant and there was also a fight. But the second day we tried again and it went better, but still some shattering. It took two whole days but now they are together in their cage and they are doing pretty well. Pumpkin and Spice are very lucky with you as there piggie parent!

I'm kinda glad I never had a pig bonding situation so bad. My 2 younger pigs still grumble at each other every once in a while(after being bonded for almost a whole year) but they never actually fought fought. They do pee on each other though lol. My middle pig is like spice. She was not happy when I got my youngest pig. My youngest pig is fine and happy until the middle one starts her attitude. And my oldest pig is always in her own little lala land away from the drama lol
I'm so sad that it didn't work out after so much stress with Kevin's neuter and everything. But I so love your heart and that you kept them! And Kevin seems like a very happy pig and lots of entertainment with a little spice in his life next to him!
Absolutely loved this video ❤️ the bonding process can be so tough! Just a tip - I’ve found that transporting them all together on the trip back home, can massively help. Obviously only if you have a person to watch and monitor them in the car! x

What a perfect solution. Maybe Kevin prefers to have his own space, much like some people. I knew you wouldn’t return the girls, so you made everything work. There is a lot of light on the top cage maybe that’s why the boys are so happy. They are all happy now. Great idea.
Setting them next to each other so they get to know each other and stables who's dominant has work for my pigs. Can't wait for an update video btw I'm looking into adopting a mouse.. so im sit back and wait for your next mouse video too lol

The puppy pads or as I call them pee pads usually what I do is put it under the fleece it litter and if the pee gets through it protects It so you don't have to wash or scrub it 😆 hope that helped
I hade the same thing with my Guinea Pigs and they just fought for 2 days and they were in the same closure we never separated them and now they get along and can never be apart there so bonded
i love guineapigs alot better then rabbits guineapigs are closer to the capabara relitive i love the capabaras and their small relitives the best .
Ur expression when u notice ur gp drawing blood is exactly same as mine. When i get a new gp i were very hopeful that my gp will get along but unfortunately they dont. They are very sweet to each other when i separated their cage like they sniff and sleep next to each other although separated by cage. But when i reintroduce them many time they just kept fighting. I let them separated for now but i will try to reintroduced them again in future. I hope everything going well with ur bonding process. Love from Malaysia

That enclosure is more than big enough for three piggies and all your pictures are beautiful and you take great care of them don't listen to these negative people they're just jealous

iIs good to put the extra cage up between them, guinea pigs can jump right over the single grid, they just dont know it! Also I had pigs that got used to each other, took like 6 months tho, good luck and thanks for the video
I think after you separate Pumpkin Spice and Kevin you should switch them so they don’t get dominant in one area

We kind of went trough the same thing last week. Just a different ending.
We adopted a neuterd male from a local rescue last saturday. We already had 2 girls.
The bonding with our girls was not smooth at all. One of my girls is very dominant and there was also a fight. But the second day we tried again and it went better, but still some shattering. It took two whole days but now they are together in their cage and they are doing pretty well.
Pumpkin and Spice are very lucky with you as there piggie parent!
It's obvious you care about your babies. I know I have upgraded since I started as well many times on chest.

When we bonded my pigs we wiped them down with a wet wipe so that they didn’t smell that different

I'm kinda glad I never had a pig bonding situation so bad. My 2 younger pigs still grumble at each other every once in a while(after being bonded for almost a whole year) but they never actually fought fought. They do pee on each other though lol. My middle pig is like spice. She was not happy when I got my youngest pig. My youngest pig is fine and happy until the middle one starts her attitude. And my oldest pig is always in her own little lala land away from the drama lol

Wax warmers! I always kept a wax warmer in my pet room and also had my air purifier going 🌸🌸🌸
And I went with a very light scent for the wax like cotton or fresh water
I'm so sad that it didn't work out after so much stress with Kevin's neuter and everything. But I so love your heart and that you kept them! And Kevin seems like a very happy pig and lots of entertainment with a little spice in his life next to him!

Absolutely loved this video ❤️ the bonding process can be so tough! Just a tip - I’ve found that transporting them all together on the trip back home, can massively help. Obviously only if you have a person to watch and monitor them in the car! x
The rescue didn’t allow that and I wouldn’t have done that. Kevin and spice were very so so and I wouldn’t have wanted them to fight inside a carrier
