Josh: The only diff between Donna and Windi's guilt, is that Windi is educated and very cunning. She keeps her mouth shut and manipulates anyone she can to have her way. She doesn't like to get her hands dirty. She's an absolute fake, and anyone who sees her as sincere and innocent has been masterfully manipulated. Windi most certainly had the most to gain from Dan's murder. She was on the verge of losing her career, money, power over children and a whole lot more. Wendi definitely had an outpouring of stress, but she knew it was coming and was controlled enough to drop names and theories that removed herself from the picture. She claimed Dan had lots of enemies, she mentioned his girlfriend, she suggested students, and even implicated her brother. She was manipulating the victim advocate and putting on her best helpless baby girl routine.
Wendi was the whiner, knowing Mommy (the puppet master) and the Maestro would fix it. Daddy's money would facilitate it. Wendi absolutely knew and drive-by was very telling. As was the owl shirt, tv repairman, bullit bourbon and impromptu lunch with friends.

So meanwhile, all these years are passing, and people are not prosecuted. Wendy, her parents need to be prosecuted. It’s been 10 years. No one else seems frustrated, so maybe I’m not understanding the legal process.
The text Wendi sent to Dan on July 6th, a day after Harvey’s 70th birthday, was to find out if Dan was available the week of July 14th to 18th because she wanted to pick the kids on Wednesday. If you want to pick the kids on Wednesday, why does he have to be available the whole week? She needed the whole week for the hitmen to succeed that time around. Their first attempt in June failed. They lost Dan somewhere on the streets. This second time, they got to Tallahassee on Wednesday, surveilled Dan on Thursday and shot him on Friday. I just can’t be convinced that Wendi was not part of this plan. Don’t forget in one of Donna’s wild emails to Wendi, she said we all want to help you out of these problems but we need your help to be able go ahead.
Jeff Lacasse. The star witness who realised with evidence that not only is Wendi a compulsive liar regarding Hating Dan and Tallahassee, but also realised that Wendi had tried to frame him for the murder. Creating the jealousy, inciting the fight in Gainsville, the questioning of whether he was still going to leave on the 18th, and then dropping him 4 days before the murder. All timely for her leave to Miami the follwing week. And the we have his testimony for Wendi's bizzare "TV cheaper that a hitman" tv alibi. It won't be a case of IF but WHEN Wendi is arrested and charged, and i think John Lauro has advised Wendi on this being the reality when her mother is found guilty.

OK, so I caught part of the live and I’m replay crew for the other part. I am literally screaming in my bathtub “ nooo! She absolutely KNEW about it and wasn’t surprised at all” !!! Thank you, Jay!! She’s so full of shit! If you only pick one phrase: it’s that she said” oh, my mom seemed surprised. That’s good”.. after she called her mom at the station. Umm. That’s a CRAZY thing to say! Excellent show and guest Jay. I’m thinking Donna chose Rashbaum to represent her during her trial because she’s worked with in the past and has a history with him. Even though Rashbaum couldn’t deliver a not guilty for Charlie , Donna is more concerned about her own comfort level and familiarity with Rashbaum. Just another example of her selfish thinking and behavior that has her in her current dilemma of being charged with first degree Capital murder. Both Charlie and Donna think people from Tallahassee are simple minded and backwards, huge mistake. With Donna’s facial expressions and curt demeanor any jury will find her repulsive.

Some of the obvious signs that Wendi was acting include "How did you know where I was."" You have pretty eyes. We could be sisters (may not be exact on that one but its the gist). Questioning the detective how he know she had lots of friends. Volunterring that drove down Trescott, because she knew she was likely seen and want get ahead of it. Refusung to ever speak with police again. Reciting a detailed discussing she had with the man in the wine store ( way too detailed). Feeding her friend with nonsense of about Jeff just prior to the murder, than asking if that friend could sit in the interrogation room with her so she didnt have to mention herself. And, of course, once she is told its possible Dan could survive, she said "thats a game change.". I gotten LOTS so help me out with others.
Oh boy have I some differing opinions. 1. Katie M. Was targeted that night Halloween Charlee looked for someone like her. A little simple, not very wealthy. 2. The day Dan was shot. Wendy gave that performance of her life that her mother was talking about. I don’t know how anybody could’ve thought that was good acting.
I never thought Wendi sounded shocked when she learned about Dan's murder. She did sound very sad to me when I listened the first time (on Over My Dead Body) without seeing her, but it sounded like she was reacting sadly to something she suspected was going to happen. There was no shock or denial phase of grief for her when first finding out. But SEEING her react to the news of Dan's murder is a whole different thing. Looked so fake! She's covering her entire face with her hands the whole time! She doesn't removed them for minutes! I would bet my life there were no tears. I actually find her reaction not only NOT genuine, but cringy! Donna's wrong. Wendi isn't a good actress. She was a caricature of a grieving widow.

Windi is the master manipulator.She did her very best at acting during the police interview, but watching it more than twice, it's obvious she's very staged. Windi is a narcissistic psychopath.
My favorite daydream is Harvey living at the airport. I see him in Welcome to Miami type t-shirts, a sun visor, eating a giant bag of trail mix from Hudson News, reading a paperback romance novel, eating at Sbarro, sleeping in the pay-massage chairs....
I always think of that with any two co-conspirators on a crime. One of them had to feel safe to bring it up to the other person without concern they would go to the police. This says who they always were. They were not afraid to present the ideal to the others, whoever brought up the solution first. There was a case in western Wisconsin where three guys saw an obit of a pretty woman in the paper and they went over to the grave near I think Platteville, and were caught digging up the grave to have sex with the corpse. Whoever first presented the idea was very sure of the debauchery of the others before bringing it up. This reminds me of that. They were all sure of who their family members were at the core. And the fact that Robert was not brought on board says a lot about who he was. They knew he was not safe to bring on board.
Somebody brilliantly suggested that people ought to take pictures of Wendi, living it up with fine dining, speaking engagements and romantic walks on the beach with her boyfriend & send these to Charlie on a regular basis as updates. 🔥 🔥 🔥 telling him all about her because they know she is not contacting him. I wonder how long it will take him to turn, given the telling pictures.
Jay ! I was watching the “spectacle “ of the RNC last night, so I’m watching in the morning and just loving this episode ! No offense to your guest in giving my opinion but … Wendi’s initial interview with Detective Isom was the worst acting I’ve ever seen ! The fake crying ,hyperventilating and her stuffy nose were no real in any way . She looked ridiculous and the biggest fail on Mommy Wendi was she never asked about her Sons . It would’ve been my first question she had no idea if things went wrong . She’s also a fake when it comes to being a doting Mother .
Such a fake! Even the rest of the family sees that now. She got what she wanted out of them, then threw them under the bus, and totally dumped them all. She's mean and evil. 😈 Another example that will come out in court is the way she treated the Markel family and grandparents. Windi cares for nobody but herself! I wouldn't be surprised if she dumps the kids in boarding school in Texas and flees the country. I don't think she gives a rats a$$ about the kids. She's too selfish. I'm not sure how true this is, but I heard on a podcast some time ago that Wendi asked about her kids while being transported from the restaurant to the police station. She knew before the interview that the kids were at daycare and safe. j/s.

It was an act........she was laughing in the interview with the cops and threw her entire family under the bus, why was that her first reaction to the question who could of done this, she says my family, my brother, etc. She tried to frame Jeff her ex boyfriend. She is the most cunning of them all with her doe eyed wonder face.
@@Theshamingofjay He said he had called Dan the am of his murder to finalize docs to be served on her that could have serious repucussions for her legal career.I’ll try to track down who did the interview. His court testimony was brief but he oozed credibility. Same for this interview.
So Joshua, one reason why you may have thought Wendi came across as genuine in that police interview was the initial ‘shock’ factor. Wendi did not expect to be grabbed by the police about a couple of hours or so after Dan’s shooting. She was at the restaurant with a friend and that was where the police went to get her. Things happened very fast. She actually asked a couple of bizarre questions to a lady at the police interview. The detective had stepped away. And Wendi was asking how they got the ambulance to the scene that quickly, and whether it was Dan himself who called the ambulance. I think she was also trying to figure out if he was able to speak after he was shot. Wendi did not bank on the neighbor hearing the shot and calling 911; and also the guy who was on the phone with Dan when he was shot calling 911. She thought somebody was going to discover the body later in the day or whatever. The other strange thing was Wendi, who had not been speaking to Dan at all for weeks (only text communications) before Dan was shot, actually called and left a voice message for Dan at 11.42 AM about 47 minutes after Dan was shot. I remain convinced that that phone call was no coincidence. This was before she drove by the house. Maybe, it was an alibi call for her to have a reason to go to Dan’s house later to find the body. Don’t forget that Dan had sent Wendi a text that morning about his plans for the morning and also suggesting that they take a walk together that afternoon.

I’m thinking Donna chose
Rashbaum to represent her during her trial because she’s worked with in the past and has a history with him.
Even though Rashbaum couldn’t deliver a not guilty for Charlie , Donna is more concerned about her own comfort level and familiarity with Rashbaum.
Just another example of her selfish thinking and behavior that has her in her current dilemma of being charged with first degree Capital murder.
Both Charlie and Donna think people from Tallahassee are simple minded and backwards, huge mistake.
With Donna’s facial expressions and curt demeanor any jury will find her repulsive.

Some of the obvious signs that Wendi was acting include "How did you know where I was."" You have pretty eyes. We could be sisters (may not be exact on that one but its the gist). Questioning the detective how he know she had lots of friends. Volunterring that drove down Trescott, because she knew she was likely seen and want get ahead of it. Refusung to ever speak with police again. Reciting a detailed discussing she had with the man in the wine store ( way too detailed). Feeding her friend with nonsense of about Jeff just prior to the murder, than asking if that friend could sit in the interrogation room with her so she didnt have to mention herself. And, of course, once she is told its possible Dan could survive, she said "thats a game change.". I gotten LOTS so help me out with others.
Ridiculous! This has not been their only case for 10 years. The former DA refused to indict for years.
My next question would have been,why?
Oh boy have I some differing opinions. 1. Katie M. Was targeted that night Halloween Charlee looked for someone like her. A little simple, not very wealthy. 2. The day Dan was shot. Wendy gave that performance of her life that her mother was talking about. I don’t know how anybody could’ve thought that was good acting.
I never thought Wendi sounded shocked when she learned about Dan's murder. She did sound very sad to me when I listened the first time (on Over My Dead Body) without seeing her, but it sounded like she was reacting sadly to something she suspected was going to happen. There was no shock or denial phase of grief for her when first finding out. But SEEING her react to the news of Dan's murder is a whole different thing. Looked so fake! She's covering her entire face with her hands the whole time! She doesn't removed them for minutes! I would bet my life there were no tears. I actually find her reaction not only NOT genuine, but cringy! Donna's wrong. Wendi isn't a good actress. She was a caricature of a grieving widow.

I think Josh did not watch Luis Rivera and Jeff Lacasse’s testimony, how could he think that Wendi was not involved in Dan’s murder?
Windi is the master manipulator.She did her very best at acting during the police interview, but watching it more than twice, it's obvious she's very staged. Windi is a narcissistic psychopath.

I always think of that with any two co-conspirators on a crime. One of them had to feel safe to bring it up to the other person without concern they would go to the police. This says who they always were. They were not afraid to present the ideal to the others, whoever brought up the solution first. There was a case in western Wisconsin where three guys saw an obit of a pretty woman in the paper and they went over to the grave near I think Platteville, and were caught digging up the grave to have sex with the corpse. Whoever first presented the idea was very sure of the debauchery of the others before bringing it up. This reminds me of that. They were all sure of who their family members were at the core. And the fact that Robert was not brought on board says a lot about who he was. They knew he was not safe to bring on board.

No offense to your guest in giving my opinion but … Wendi’s initial interview with Detective Isom was the worst acting I’ve ever seen ! The fake crying ,hyperventilating and her stuffy nose were no real in any way . She looked ridiculous and the biggest fail on Mommy Wendi was she never asked about her Sons . It would’ve been my first question she had no idea if things went wrong . She’s also a fake when it comes to being a doting Mother .
Such a fake! Even the rest of the family sees that now. She got what she wanted out of them, then threw them under the bus, and totally dumped them all.
She's mean and evil. 😈 Another example that will come out in court is the way she treated the Markel family and grandparents. Windi cares for nobody but herself! I wouldn't be surprised if she dumps the kids in boarding school in Texas and flees the country. I don't think she gives a rats a$$ about the kids. She's too selfish. The boys have NEVER visited their father's graveside.

I'm not sure how true this is, but I heard on a podcast some time ago that Wendi asked about her kids while being transported from the restaurant to the police station.
She knew before the interview that the kids were at daycare and safe.

@@CRConfidentialit takes more than one viewing. You see more each time. Sometimes she seems to actually be laughing (kind of a hysteria)when she covers her eyes and fake cries. It’s an acting technique. She’s in such control of herself and the officer throughout.

Wicked Witch Wendi,as soon as she was in the hot seat,totally threw Charlie under the bus!
It was an act........she was laughing in the interview with the cops and threw her entire family under the bus, why was that her first reaction to the question who could of done this, she says my family, my brother, etc. She tried to frame Jeff her ex boyfriend. She is the most cunning of them all with her doe eyed wonder face.
Watched someone interview Dan’s last lawyer who said a lot more then he testified to, much of it far more damning for Wendi then we knew previously.

@@Theshamingofjay He said he had called Dan the am of his murder to finalize docs to be served on her that could have serious repucussions for her legal career.I’ll try to track down who did the interview. His court testimony was brief but he oozed credibility. Same for this interview.
So Joshua, one reason why you may have thought Wendi came across as genuine in that police interview was the initial ‘shock’ factor. Wendi did not expect to be grabbed by the police about a couple of hours or so after Dan’s shooting. She was at the restaurant with a friend and that was where the police went to get her. Things happened very fast. She actually asked a couple of bizarre questions to a lady at the police interview. The detective had stepped away. And Wendi was asking how they got the ambulance to the scene that quickly, and whether it was Dan himself who called the ambulance. I think she was also trying to figure out if he was able to speak after he was shot. Wendi did not bank on the neighbor hearing the shot and calling 911; and also the guy who was on the phone with Dan when he was shot calling 911. She thought somebody was going to discover the body later in the day or whatever. The other strange thing was Wendi, who had not been speaking to Dan at all for weeks (only text communications) before Dan was shot, actually called and left a voice message for Dan at 11.42 AM about 47 minutes after Dan was shot. I remain convinced that that phone call was no coincidence. This was before she drove by the house. Maybe, it was an alibi call for her to have a reason to go to Dan’s house later to find the body. Don’t forget that Dan had sent Wendi a text that morning about his plans for the morning and also suggesting that they take a walk together that afternoon.

Nice show Jay! You got an honorable mention on Reddit by a moderator of all people for your guest’s opinion that Wendi was genuine in her police interview. Funny thing is I’ve seem MANY people say the same thing re Wendi but in fairness MOST changed their opinion after either learning more about the case or perhaps they succumbed to peer pressure?
I’ve seen Joshua on other channels re the Read case and had already subscribed to his channel. Great guest, and I look forward to hearing more of his perspective - I will definitely tune in when you have him back! Would love to hear more about his views on Wendi since its apparent he hasn’t been subjected to the echo chamber where it's a sin to have any shred of reasonable doubt on Wendi’s involvement.
