The best singer in the history of mankind. Elvis Aaron Presley. ❤
It is spelled Aron ....... Check out his birth certificate ....... And his Army record ...... No Brag ....... Just Fact ........
Well I could argue against you but I would lose the argument 😂 ❤ because I agree with you.
Elvis was a God given gift to us, he was an example to learn from on and off the stage 😊
I went to the Elvis exhibition in London and stood right next to his red shirt and striped trousers he wore in rehearsals i was in tears to be so close although they were behind a glass case i just love Elvis no he definitely wasn't big headed all his musicians loved him ❤
Cissy Houston was a backing vocalist for Elvis she left the group ( sweet inspirations) in oct of 1969 to raise her kids, Whitney was one of them, and to pursue a solo career
Cissy left the Sweet Inspirations backing Elvis on August 28, 1959. She was with him for only a month.
I think you meant to write 1969 .....
@@WoodsWoman822 Yep.

I'm a third generation Elvis fan. I was born 8 year after Elvis passed. My grandma and mom where huge Elvis fans. In 1996 for my 12 birthday they took me to Graceland and to meet Charlie Hodge. When I got to Charlie I remember telling him I wanted to touch the hand of a man who I had touched Elvis because I would never get to touch Elvis. Charlie got up from the table where he was at and gave me a hug, kiss on the forehead, and a autographed red scarf. I'm almost 40 now and that was one of the best birthdays I ever had. Thank you for keeping Elvis alive. Charlie was so sweet.
The back up singer's hair is beyond awesome.So.much fun to see Elvis cut up and goof around. He was really one of a kind!!!
That's Charlie Hodge. He was Elvis' best friend and acted as his stage manager as well. I got to meet him twice, really nice guy. He passed a few years ago.
I envy you. I would have liked to have met him. He was a character.
I meet Charlie several times and after the second time he said "I apologize, I know I meet you a year ago but the name escapes me" I was in awe..he met thousands a year and was such a gentleman to even say that!
That was Charlie Hodge. One of his closest friends and musical partners. He sung backup harmony on stage and in studio with Elvis and was always the guy handing Elvis his water and scarves for fans. He’s easy to spot since Elvis was 6ft 2 and Charlie was NOT 6 ft 2. Smile😊. My dad and I got to spend time with Charlie every day on. Couple vacations in Pigeon Forge. For many years Charlie played himself on stage with Eddie Miles’ tribute to Elvis. He’s come out and talk to fans who hung out in the afternoon and tell the coolest, sweetest stories about Elvis. He said the world will never know how generous Elvis was. He was constantly obsessed with giving to and caring for others. I was 14 years old and didn’t know for sure if I wanted to be a musician but it was then and there the the kind of man I wanted to be was clearly defined. Charlie passed a few years ago. He was just as precious as Elvis.
Not sure if you're aware of it but Elvis was one of twins born to his mom. His twin brother didn't survive. Always wondered how it would have been if his brother had survived. Can you imagine having TWO Elvis ?
Have you seen “The Identical” a 2014 movie starring Ray Liotta? It very much makes you wonder what could have happened.
@@mustangsallie I have it bookmarked! Thanks for the Tip!! :D
@@mustangsallieindeed
Great to find people even today who love the King. I am a fan since 42 years now. He is just the greatest ever and nobody will ever reach to him 👍😎
Elvis recorded his part and then the back up singers practiced their back up parts and then they all came together for rehearsal.
Also, Elvis is the first solo performer that demanded backup singers from the beginning and hired so many of them. He changed music in so many ways and one significant one was the opportunity people began to have to make their living singing oohs and ahhhs.
YOU HAVE THAT RIGHT.
ABOUT TWENTY THREE
YRS. AGO H.B.O. PUT OUT ABOUT THREE HRS. OF ELVIS WITH ALOT OF FOOTAGE. MY MOM HAD PASSED AWAY COULDN'T SLEEP PUT T.V. ON AND SO MUCH FOOTAGE... NEVER HAVE SEEN IT AGAIN, BUT THEY HAVE IT. WISH I HAD TAPED IT. IT WAS AMAZING. I WISH THESE OWNERS WOULD SET HIM FREE. WE ARE ONLY
SEEING A LITTLE. TRUST ME THERE'S BEUTIFUL STUFF THEY HAVE.😢❤
TODAY IS JAN. EIGHT 2024 HAPPY BIRTHDAY
ELVIS😊 STILL LOVING U❤
I love to watch his feet tapping to the music! His entire body is always tapping, in tempo, to the music! He always cuts up too! I love it!
Sideburns are a combination of the guys natural hairline and facial hair. It’s all about the cut and the trim. He had a great barber.
He was there the whole time. They just panned the camera shot to the other people there. This was originally filmed in color, they just enhanced it with new technology technology.
Same rehearsal, same room, same time. Elvis's hairdresser and friend Larry Geller said Elvis was more handsome than all of Hollywood's most handsome actors rolled together. He said the electricity was real when Elvis walked into a room. There are some great interviews with him on TH-cam.
He lies too much.
@@PauloPereira-jj4jv And how do you know that? Please elaborate.
Elvis had huge sideburns since 1955 and even though the sideburns in his 20's were smaller, they were more shocking for the times.
Thank you Britt for responding to my request! Such a wonderful end-of-2023 gift. I'm beaming! The backups are in Vegas. Elvis and his core band are in Culver City, CA. This is a few weeks before they all reunite in Vegas in prep for the late summer/fall Vegas engagement in 1970. The guy holding the lyrics and singing harmony is Charlie Hodge, an Elvis confident, friend, band and Memphis Mafia (Elvis's entourage) member. Catch Elvis at the end where he tell's the backup singer with the high octave voice (Millie Kirkham) "hang on baby. Yeah..."
Yes, that would be Cissy Houston. Whitney Houston Mom.
That was Charlie Hodge standing by Elvis. He had been singing with a gospel group prior to being inducted into the army, and was on the same troop ship with Elvis to Germany, where they were both stationed. They were lifelong friends from that time on. On stage, he played an acoustic guitar, sang harmony with Elvis, and gave him his water and scarves. He had a room at Graceland.
I met charlie in an elevator once and he wished me a great evening. I was pretty star struck.
Charlie was from my hometown. Decatur, AL. He would come back on occasion and came to my Dad's tire store. Dad said he was a southern gentleman.
The king 4 ever!!!! Play from a jack to a king wauw!
Hes right hand man Charlie. So sweet. Hes a great guy.
Charlie sang with the Foggy River Boys before the Army
Thanks for another great reaction. I’ve really enjoyed sharing your Elvis journey with you; it's always been entertaining. Please do lots more Elvis reactions. Thank you. Thank you very much.
That’s Charlie Hodge. He handed him his water and scarves and would sing harmony with Elvis. He was with Elvis until he died.
During SUSPICIOUS MINDS he plays with his background singers. It shows his sense of humor as well.
Charlie Hodge was elvis's right hand man. Gave him his scarfs and water sang and arranged songs
I wish Elvis would have given more credit to Charlie at the shows. Many times he forgot to say "He sings harmony with me."
Elvis was never in different booth…he was always with the band right with him…he always preferred his band right next to him.
"I take vitamin E."
- Elvis Presley, 1972, Madison Square Garden
This was the’70’s. Color had been around for decades.
This was from “Elvis, That’s the way it is” I think. One of his ‘tour’ movies.
Elvis was in California and the vocalists were singing to a recording in Vegas.
Whitney Houston's mother was a backup vocalist for ELVIS!
That Guy is Charlie Hodge, And yes they would rehearse in different locations from time to time.
The guy you are referring to is Charlie Hodge. He sang harmony. He met Elvis when they were in the army together. He played bit parts in a few Elvis movies. You will also see him sitting next to Elvis in the ‘68 comeback special, along with providing Elvis with all the scarves etc during the concert years.
You're funny! 😂😂 love your reactions. It's Noah in the bible, when it rained for 40 days and 40 nights! And Jesus fasted for 40 days... 🙏
Such a nice song. The rehearsal, then the live performance in Las Vegas. Elvis looks and sounds amazing. Cissy Houston (Whitney's mom) sang for Elvis the first 6 weeks of his opening concert in Las Vegas 1969. More Elvis please!
Yes!!! Thanks for remembering, Cissy Houston!!!! I knew it......... but didn't! Hahah!!!
Whitney Houston’s mom was one of his back up singers
Cissy was with Elvis for all of five weeks.
@@timcarr6401no matter how short or long her stay with him was, she was still a back up singer for him.
He had a beautiful hair, even in the end of his life at 42, his hairdresser said it was thick and strong. He did use herbal oils on it. He was into taking care of his skin and care. That long hair got him kicked off the football team at Humes High School. All the guys had crew cuts in the 50's, he changed styles and fashion. My little redheaded brother in middle school had the Elvis hair and the turned up collar from Elvis influence. The musicals like "Bye Bye Birdie". And " Grease" were a copy of Elvis. His school mates made fun of the hair, one group of guys cornered him in the restroom and were going to hold him down and cut his hair when a football player named Sonny West stopped them. West would become one of Elvis Bodyguards when he hit the Big Time. Elvis suffered for his fame in the beginning, See "Elvis Presley and the Black Community". Thanks for your great reaction, you are one of the best. Thanks Be Blessed
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I JUST LOVE YOUR REACTIONS. YOU ARE THE BEST. BE SAFE. I HAD TO LAUGH WHEN YOU THE BACKUPS SOUND LIKE A HUMMINGBIRD, PLEASE TELL US WHAT A HUMMINGBIRD SOUNDS LIKE, HA HA.🎉🎉🎈
Cissy Houston was one of Elvis's background singer for short time and Cissy is Whitney Houston mother.
My grandpa was lucky enough to go see him when he played here in corpus Christi Texas and his best friend was one of body guards that night and he took my grandfather to meet Elvis in person and got his autograph which was left to my dad and when my dad passed he left the kings autograph to me and yes I've been offered thousands of dollars for it and though im not married i intend to leave it to one my kids in the future may God rest his soul the king 👑
Women used to practically faint just getting a piece of material with his sweat on it. Its probably framed and hanging on their wall today.
Britt indeed you are a darling!
The Sweet Inspirations were absolutely the greatest vocalist
And a match made in heaven that genuinely complemented the Presley style.
Trivia matters; Elvis wanted to date Sweet Inspirations singer Myrna Yvonne Smith
but she called Elvis the boss and refused to mix business with pleasure.
Myrna did marry Elvis' friend side kick & Memphis Mafia member Jerry Schilling from 1982-1987.
Sadly Myrna passed from kidney failure, she was 69 (1941-2010).
As a member of the Sweet Inspirations, Myrna was best known for her work with Elvis Presley & Aretha Franklin.
GBY & those you love; Happy New Year!
When he became famous in the late fifties and sixties, he didn't have all that back-up---just a couple of guitars, then the 3 Jordanairs!!
The Jordanaires started with him in 1956 and backed him up many times with his movie songs. But lots of other singers/groups also backed him up.
There were 4 Jordanaires. Just watched a FB interview from few years ago done with one of them. They were with him from 1956 to 1969. You can see them behind him on Sullivan shows in '56 & many other shows from early on. They didn't want to work Vegas 2 shows a day w/him. They had their own gigs in Nashville.
@@judyzeller3921 The last remaining Jordanaire is Ray Walker, who will be 90 in March. He started with the group in 1958.
@@timcarr6401 Interesting. The interview I saw must have been with someone else from the group who was there all the way back to 1956. He detailed the group's history going back to the late 40's & through their run with Elvis.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST LOOKING, ARTIST AND THE GENEROUS MAN THAT NEVER TOOK WRITE OFF.

Happy New Year Britt! Hope you and family have a Great 2024!

What they did was Elvis song the song and later on they had the sweet inspiration and others add the background. So they did this at different times.
Feeling In My Body/ Elvis Presley
Elvis is together with the band in 1 room.
Your reactions are so heartfelt and sweet....you remind me of myself when I first discovered Elvis....40 years have passed since then....and the connection is getting stronger and stronger. A happy and peaceful year to everyone!🙏❤
One of the background singers was Cissy Houston which is Whitney Houston’s mother.
Cuissy wasn't in this footage. She left Elvis at the end of August of 1969.
Wikipedia might be wrong, but says Cissy was with Elvis in July/August of '69 - "Performing with Elvis Presley was Houston's final gig with The Sweet Inspirations."
Her 3rd child, Whitney, would have been ~6 years old.
they did do color recordings in the 60s and 70s
The ladies are the Sweet Inspirations. Cissy Houston (Whitney"s mother) sang with them. The man at his side is Charlie Hodge, Elvis's best friend and confidant.
Beyond Awesome ❤️🔥
Charlie Hodge was probably Elvis’s best friend. He lived at Graceland for 17 years.
Happy New Year Brit! Take care and God bless you 🙏 😊
Good reaction as usual.
Happy New Year!
Happy new year to you hope you have the 2024 you deserve xx
Elvis o melhor cantor do mundo de todos os tempos .saudades eterna do Rei .
That is the conductor that ELVIS has
Need more Elvis please 🙏
It was Sissy Houston, Whitney mother was one of the backup singers
Not here. She left a year earlier.
Wikipedia might be wrong, but says Cissy was with Elvis in July/August of '69 - "Performing with Elvis Presley was Houston's final gig with The Sweet Inspirations."
Her 3rd child, Whitney, would have been ~6 years old.
@@fiddiehacked Yeah, Cissy was with the Elvis show from July 31 to August 28, 1969.
He was absolutely amazing!
You’re the best Elvis reactor on utube. Please do many more.
Love Elvis 💖💖💖💖
Charlie Hodge is the guy singing harmony next to him joking. The Sweet Inspirations are the female vocalists.
Elvis‘s background girls were called the Sweet Inspirations. It’s Cissy Houston, Whitney‘s mom, was a Sweet Inspiration.
Nope, it was not her. She left Elvis at the end of August of 1969.
@@timcarr6401
Yes…Cissy was a member of the Sweet Inspiration & did perform with Elvis.
@@willow0828 I was attempting to correct the false notion that Cissy was one of the women in the Sweet Inspirations in the footage we watched.
@@willow0828yes but she performed with him only in his Vegas opening in August 1969. Then she left the Sweet Inspirations. This video is from the following year...
Elvis hand pick each one of the singers ❤️❤️❤️❤️Elvis was a god gift to us !!Elvis bought a lot of people cars and houses a rings he had a great heart ❤️❤️
Elvis Rocks! TCB⚡️
Great reaction to the king, as always ⚡️ Happy new year!
Another great Elvis reaction from you. Really love your hairdo.
Charlie Hodge was the guy who would sing harmony with "E"
And Elvis always introduced Charlie as the man who sings Harmony with me; gives me my water and my scarves".
Hodge was a member of Elvis' Memphis Mafia, wholly devoted to Presley.
Charlie Hodge, a gifted guitarist and gospel singer from Decatur, Alabama,
actually lived at Graceland for over 17 yrs.to Elvis' death in 1977.
Hi Britt, it's so cool to see you lovin' Elvis.
I've been crazy about him for years. Fifty years or more. You're hooked girl.

God bless you sweetheart !! thank you for all !!
Happy New Year Ms Britt, you need to watch the entire video show called Elvis That's the Way it is , i remember being 9 years old and my aunt took us to the drive in theater, we had no idea what was going to be shown , one of the best days of my life, watch the entire show and you will see so many different sides of Elvis , cutting up with the group and looking sexy as hell , He was always a regular guy that was a true friend of each of the band, you won't find that anymore , i personally like when he is wearing the Red shirt and black pants , just having a great time and then takes it home , each of these members are hand picked by Elvis himself and they adored the Beautiful Man , its really fun to watch him getting ready to go on stage before the show , nervous as always, but looking so so beautiful, i mean watch the Man walk , no one else ever comes close to this beautiful Man Among Men Elvis and they all would go up to Elvis suite at the my International Hotel and sing gospel till morning time , so so missed , you should be watch the video Elvis, The Man I knew , which.he gave on the rocks in the lake talking about the Man he knew , so beautiful and such an incredible honor for Charlie Hodge, but so so beautiful and true , Yes they had color TV then , Thanks Britt for sharing your love for this beautiful man Elvis who will never be forgotten. TCB 1935
Hi Britt, the middle girl singing with the big hair and silver/black top is Myrna Smith, and was really close to Elvis and resisted him as Elvis was very keen on her but she valued their friendship, so yep she was able to resist Elvis.
Sadly Myrna died a few years back. Happy New year from Scotland 🙂
68gt66... Myrna Smith was actually married to Jerry Schilling.
Yeah, that was later, after Elvis died.🙂@@JoAnnKlingaman-iu4lm

Great reaction. I believe the backup singers are listening to the recording of Elvis and the rhythm section.
In the late 60’s in early 70’s everything was in color.
Happy New Year to you and your family! Loved your reactions especially to Elvis this year and looking forward to more in 2024! 😊🎉
He never thought he was better than a anyone! In fact, he thought he was less than most people. ELVIS was a very humble man! Oh by the way, he hated this song! He only sang it twice!
40 Days and 40 nights was Noah and the Flood. Don't feel like your alone though, I can't remember my name half the time.
Hey Britt, Elvis’s only Grammy was for his Gospel Music. Check out “Take My Hand Precious Lord” and see if you can make it through without tearing up. I’m not even a religious person and it gets me every time!
Hey Kerry , you are right on one account , but he won 3 Grammys for his Gospel music , and it should have been so many more , just an observation , TCB 1935

You do a great Elvis!
You are so funny! Your reactions are so hilarious! I appreciate your knowledge of music and its role in our lives music is a tool in which we express our thoughts and feelings and the different ways that people have in their own little way of doing that is seemingly infinite! I'm glad you're doing Elvis and the songs of that time period. It's Entertainment and history at the same time keep up the good work you never disappoint!
Awesome
It's great how you are going strong into the new year. ❤
Awesome reaction I loved it❤ i would love to see you react the documentaries , “Elvis and the Black community” , and Elvis: A Generous Heart” before you watch the movie 👍
When it comes down to it everyone in Elvis' group were already very sucessfully and stars in there genre. The Jordanaires, Sweet Inspirations, JD Sumner and the Stamps, The Imperials, Ronnie Tutt, James Burton, Tony Brown, Kathy Westmoreland, Joe Guercio Orchestra, and list goes on. Check out their resumes. Elvis surrounded himself with the best of the best. Elvis knew exactly what he wanted the music to sound like.
Britt i love your in depth breakdown of the music / performance . Im a 57 year old long time Elvis fan most people do not get the depth of this mans voice/talent. Keep up the great work.
My daughter (about 3 at the time) once asked me what life was like back in the black and white days. Thanks for bringing Elvis to a new generation Brit
Cecelia Houston was one of the background singers. Her daughter was Whitney.
Britt hoping you & yours have a Happy, Healthy & prosperous 2024. If I was a younger man and you were single I do believe I’d be chasing after you🤪❤️. I was in Okinawa when Elvis passed away, We had a couple fellas who were from TN. and they were devastated. Keep doing what your doing, your doing great 👍
You’re just as real as Elvis, you’re also as beautiful a soul as Elvis too as a woman.
Britt, I do the same thing you do when listening to Elvis. I believe he's singing to me. This was an amazing collage of music showing the rehearsal all the way to the performance. They certainly got it together....sounds great. He surrounded himself with the best musicians....what a show.
The male group --The Imperials. They left Elvis in November of 1971.
You should check out Charlie Hodge and Elvis doing a duet called "I Will Be Home Again."
