I’m highly pleased to hear about region locking no longer being a thing. It’s already bad enough that those without the Marie and Callie amiibo cannot get the gear associated with them, but seeing as nameplates are now a thing, it could have devolved out of control if region exclusive stuff was still a thing.
You can actually get the gear still without having the Amiibo's. People have uploaded the RFID chip information for all amiibos and uploaded it to the internet. If you wanted, you could purchase RFID cards and I think there's a mobile app you can use to transfer the data onto the cards which then allows you to use them in game (there's many video tutorials on how to do it). Still a shame that people can't have the figurines though.
How the hell did the Japanese developers make several languages that directly translate to English? They did this with breath of the wild too. Arms probably has it as well if anyone were to care
they probably take English letters and change each letter to a symbol
Maybe they used English as a base so that the Japanese fanbase would have a harder time deciding it
i think english characters are easier to garble text with since japanese characters are actually syllables so the deciphering would be easier

Just wanted to mention, there actually ARE symbiotic relationships employed by hermit crabs. Sometimes anemones are seen sticking on the hermit crab’s shell, providing the hermit crab with stinging protection while also hitching an easy ride.
Considering Annie I don’t think they’ll go this route, but it popped into my mind regardless. I think a sea pangolin would be pretty dang cool for the headgear shopkeeper myself, they’re deepsea snails with a scaly foot and shells made of iron. Like certain other creatures that chill near hydrothermal vents, they actually have a symbiotic relationship with specific bacteria! The bacteria chills inside them and provides the energy they need to survive, to the point where it’s likely that they… sea pangolin actually don’t even eat.
Maybe when you buy something, the bacteria kinda seeps out of the shell to leave snide remarks? Or maybe the dynamic’s reversed, where the shopkeeper tends to come off as more aggressive than they mean to and the bacterium guy inside is timid and apologetic.
I’m REALLY hoping for some deepsea influences in this game, so something like that would be great! Just give us a Spartan warrior Pompeii worm or something and this’ll be a perfect game.
…Also buff Ink Mine to be insta-kill again.
It would be really cool if a sea pangolin shopkeeper were to have origins from the deepsea metro.

It also appears that we have teeth customization! (at least for octolings) Some of them have 3 teeth (like inklings) while others have 2 (the asymmetrical design they have in splatoon 2) this can be seen at 5:50 where the octoling on the left has a visible bottom tooth in the middle while the one on the right does not

what if the judd kidnapping idea actually is possible? Like how the zapfish doesn't appear in your plaza until you steal it back.. So what if one of the judds don't show up in your online battles or hub until you save them. Which wouldn't be impossible since we only had 1 judd in the first splatoon so all they'd have to do is take that same animation and reuse it.
Oooooh I kinda see this working out: octarians kidnapping Judd or Lil Judd to know what mammals are to become like them and take over the land once governed by mammals. (sorry for my poor choice of words here, I'm not quite sure how to explain it better, English is not my first language, lol)

Adding on to the Portuguese man o' war, the tentacles can extend as long as 30m and are extremely dangerous as the venom ejects upon contact, releasing into blood circuits in nanoseconds and causing paralysis. I'd be surprised if a man o' war becomes a shopkeeper. Maybe we'll see a hydra since they both share the same class taxonomy.

Maybe the reason that we have a set few weapons in Salmon Run was so Sheldon could gather information about the weapons, like in the Splatoon 2 Storymode where he forces you to use specific weapons in different levels?
Ok so having a real bear as the villain would be obvious and a little lame but what about this.
The villain may be someone who did a mammal related experiment on themselves but is having trouble with the process and is testing it out on Octarians to perfect the process. This way we have a bear for the big bad but we also don’t have a bear as big bad.
The hat shop keeper could be a sea snail with a anemone. some snails will put anemones on their shells for defense, also the anemone looks a bit like a top hat when on the shell
My theory for what's up w little judd is that he's grown into his kitten fuzz phase. In splatoon 2 he would have just-born buzz, here he has kitten fuzz, and later down the line he'll smooth out to be like judd's level of fluff. Thats just my take though lol.
The thing about man-o-wars is that they are not a creature, they are a COLONY of creatures of the same species, doing diferent roles, the tentacles are one, the puffy floaties another, the wind sail looking bit is another and so on, imagine the hive mind thing of the splatoon jellyfish, but as a singular character

I'm thinking little Judd may be an experiment by...Someone to see if it would be possible to make more mammals. A Jurassic Park situation, if you will. They were successful with the creation of a new cat, next could be to try and integrate it with inkling/octoling dna, but things seem to have gone wrong somehow.
My theory is currently that the fuzzy ink is connected to Lil Judd but he isn't the evil mastermind- more like its a consequence of his creation that could've gotten abused by the Octarians or some other 3rd entity? For example if Octavio is evil still he used the cloning technology in Judd's capsule to try to beef up Octarians so that Inkling Ink couldn't take them out? IDK i could probably craft it a little better if i did a proper deep dive but i dont have the energy

I hate the idea of Splatsville Street, but it could lead to something. Street is a synonym for Avenue or Boulevard. Boulevard in particular is defined as a wide street in a town or city, typically one lined with trees. The hub is big, has palm tree,s and has streets blocked off by barriers and such. So, my theory for the name of the Splat 3 hub is Splatsville Boulevard.

My theory is that the main story mode will focus on obviously the return of the mammalian and maybe something bigger but we might get a dlc about grizzco and mr grizz. I think that would be pretty cool!

3:07 I think left-handedness would be a cool new customization addition (glad to see someone other than me noticed it), but with the inkling being right-handed, it’s not looking good for that theory.
It would change which direction you could peak around walls, so an organized team could tactically make some members who are usually on the right side of the map left handed. That seems like a hassle to do every match, and give an even bigger advantage to well organized teams. I don’t think it’s a good idea.
It could either be these
1. Left handedness hasn’t fully been implemented
2. You get the title for switching your dominant hand, but can switch it back which is what our southpaw champ did
Or the left handed title is just there for the irl lefties. Though I have no idea how such an achievement would be made in a game like this. Wait aren't the sub weapons thrown with the left hand? Maybe the achievement would be unlocked after throwing a certain amount of subs throughout matches? Wait I just saw they still thrown right handed in this game.. Hmm then how is a left handed achievement going to be unlocked lol
@@AshenDust_ I think it would add to the gameplay experience, similar to the squid roll, giving folks more options during battles, but that’s just my opinion.

man-o-war is actually a collection of individual organisms operating together as a single organism, to the point where most of them couldn't perform many basic functions without the colony they're connected to. i kinda doubt they'll do anything particular with that, but it would be cool to see if they incorporated that comprehensibly in the design somehow.
Actually hermit crabs carry sea anemone on there back sometimes to defend them from predators and in exchange the sea anemones basically get a free Uber in return. So it may be a hermit crab in the hat store

It's amazing that the languages in Splatoon are being deciphered. It used to just seem like made up symbols that somewhat resemble real words. I remember thinking that it would be very odd if it really can't be deciphered, since the most of the writing in the Zelda games has been deciphered.
What if little Judd actually did get kidnapped and was replaced by another clone of Judd who just seems to grow differently ( fuzzier hair, brownish color)? Maybe he is a clone of the clone? That might explain why he looks so different :oc
I remember my teach talking about clones missing certain dna informations when they get cloned again, same goes with i.e. simple paper copies. If you copy another copy for a while, it loses it's sharpness and color

In their Twitter or tumbler page IDK which one had it they said " this splatsvile youth " not inkling or octoling. Since we know that octolings are now playable in the next game then is it possible that the new agent 3 could be an octoling? I don't really know because we only see NA(new agent) 3 as a inkling but not as an octoling so I'm not really sure:/
Hear me out, sheldon is Mr Grizz. From every theiry you’ve made it makes the most sense. Sheldon was neutral on chaos vs order much like grizz, and sheldon already had a hustory of highly modified weapons such as the entire hero set. Sheldon might be using grizzco as a way to fund his weapon business or to help make further technological breakthroughs. We collect power eggs and sardines to upgrade the hero weapons anyways

@@justblazey_sp We don’t really know if he would have evil motives or not, if anything this could be both a way to improve his technological advances and nullify the octarian army. This mogjt be a case of “necessary evil” but we should not rule out the idea of sheldon being mr grizz especially with all the signs that point more towards him that any other character

Splatoon 3 has been fun so far. And in Splatoon 2 octo expansion they made a giant isopod not look terrifying, and in Splatoon 3 they made a coconut not give me nightmares. Very impressive

I appreciate the more QOL and minor additions that separates the game from 2, My main problem is that it's on the same console; and I think the Splatoon devs know thats a big problem for sequels. Hope there's a bonus for ppl who've played the 2nd one, or profile transfer? maybe not that, but some kind of goody and an in-depth direct segment on more changes before release would reel in existing fans and hopefully new ones, as having this game be approachable for anyone despite being the 3rd installment would get new ppl who turned it down before to consider it.

Well the things I hope that can be transferable to Splatoon 3 is Amiibo gear. I would be so hyped if the Pearlescent Kicks would return, those are my favourite shoes to use in game ^^ . Oh and it would be cool if people who have Splatoon2 could transfer their ability chunks to Splatoon 3 for the same abilities who are still in use in 3, probably sounds like a hellish idea for casual players and comps would abuse it..

What i find interesting is that a "man o war" is in the order Siphonophorae - basically its a bunch of little organisms that make up on giant one soooooooooooooooooooooo i wonder how thats gonna work for the character of the shirt seller

I just realized that a picture of flounder heights is in the single/hero mode trailer. Maybe they're bringing it back also if you look in the corner of the pic you can actually see it is the exact picture because there is orange ink (just black and white instead)
I think a prequel splatoon game would be really interesting, maybe set in the Great turf war. The player could play as Cpt Cuttlefish or someone else. It would give a lot of insight into the lore of splatoon.

Theory: maybe lil' Judd is more brown because of exposure to the fur growing goop.
I've done a small amount of research on it but for lil judd, I wouldn't be to suprised at him now being more brown now, in splatoon 2 he was a kitten but if he's five his fur has probably darkened which is normal for kittens.
also since Judd and Lil' Judd seem to spend a lot of time in the sun I could imagine it would have an effect on Judd's fur color too.
Small detail I noticed in regards to the sticky notes at 9:07, if you flip the image upside down and look at the symbol again. It looks like Dedf1sh's hat! Perhaps we might be seeing more of Ahato in the third game or hear more of her music.

I honestly like the splatoon 2 colour tips more than the splat 1/3 ones. The other ones look kinda dirty for some reason, it'd be better if they were at least the same saturation as the main tentacle color.
I really hope that the title things are able to be typed, like the things in acnh that you type with your passport instead of the titles that you unlock
