  • In the majority of people, gallstones do not cause any symptoms. However, if they start to, they can cause a variety of problems. Mr Satyajit Bhattacharya, expert surgeon, explains how gallstones can cause trouble for patients, and how they can be removed.

      Very true, he explained the Gallbladders job very thoroughly, compared to a lot of unnecessary rambling on videos I've seen other's doing on TH-cam. I now feel comfortable and somewhat knowledgeable about possibly having my gallbladder removed due to Gallstones i have. Thank you doc for that excellent explanation it was very straight forward and to the point. Keep up your good work. GOD Bless you.

    I went from pain in tummy and feeling bloated, lasting 2-4 hrs, once a month,this was 5 yrs ago. I'm now in pain 20-25 days a month, pain lasting anywhere from 2-72 hrs. I feel like I'm in child labour. I vomit. My abdomen feels like there's a knife stuck in it. My pancreas is now becoming irritated by it. I can't breathe properly. I am dehydrated because I can't take liquids when in pain as it hurts more. It messes with my mental health. I never leave the house. I can't possibly go to my job.
    I've been on at my doctor constantly since March this yr, after spending a year and a half tweaking my diet and keeping a food diary to try to find what foods triggered, basically instructed by the doctor to write down everything and use the process of elimination.
    At my wits end I persisted to be checked out properly. 2 months later and my prescribed gastric meds I took did nothing to shift it. Doc referred me to the hospital for a barium meal swallow. I had to wait another 2 months for that appointment. 3 weeks for results which came back clear. All blood tests were clear. A mate suggested I may have gallstones. Doc refers me for an ultrasound. I had to wait 6 weeks for that. In the meantime I'm on the strongest painkillers they can give me plus a big bottle of morphine, I mean jeezus!! Finally i have the ultrasound aaaaand drumroll please.....gallstones!! Doc says out with the gallbladder and to that I say amen!! ... next week's appointment coming up for a pre op consultation was cancelled yesterday by the hospital and they've set a new date for December, that's TWO MONTHS AWAY! Not for the op but a consultation!! I rang the hospital and for once in my life I refused to accept it!! I told them I will be dead before then. I seriously do not know how I'm still alive. They gave me a new appointment for tomorrow!! My persistence paid off ... I've been in a&e a few times. I just wish they would've done the op by now instead of just giving me painkillers and taking bloods and sending me home.
    This is the biggest battle I've ever had to face in my life. And gallstones make you miserable.
    I pray for everyone here who is suffering and ask u to persist, don't be fobbed off with 'food diaries'. If ur abdomen hurts and the pain lasts too long and is reoccurring or any of the symptoms anyone else has had sounds similar to you ...
    Tell the doc to check u for gallstones
    I wish u all luck x

    It makes sense. I had pain on my right side under rib area , very painful . I had vomiting on day 1 day 2 I couldn't walk my gallbladder was blocked with stones. I had surgery n had it removed. I'm recovering from pain I'm grateful for the surgery. I feel no pain. Neone reading this if you feel that pain. You know it hurts go have it removed you'll be thankful. Surgery is scary but having it rupture and getting sepsis in your bloodstream is more scary because you'll die. I want to thank the doctors at the University hospital in San Antonio Texas and the trauma team for helping me I am so grateful this is one of the many times that they have saved my life

    Don't understand we don't remove the stones because they will form again, my stones have taken 55 years to form , I can wait 55 years for the next stones to form , so you will say not linear but how often would I need de stoning?

    • @WhiteWolfos
      @WhiteWolfos 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It forms in children adults and seniors. That's why they usually remove the gallbladder.
      If you immediately change your diet they won't form large stones but doctors prefer to remove the thing because most people won't change diets.
      However its funny because they tell you to change your diet after surgery because you can't digest fats and certain vitamins that well anymore. The stones have increased risk of forming in your kidneys and increased risk of fatty liver

    • @adedoyin3336
      @adedoyin3336 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WhiteWolfos this is what I never understand especially us with second language . When u say change diet ? To what exactly is the correct diet for gallbladder is what I for ever struggle with not that people won’t change their diet some of us don’t even know what type of correct diet they’re referring too could u be kind enough to be more extremely specific to what exact diet we’re talking about please ?

    • @WhiteWolfos
      @WhiteWolfos 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@adedoyin3336 If they don't give you a list after surgery they should.
      Mostly you should avoid fried foods. Fried anything is alittle too much to be able to break down the fats fully and it may deposit more into fatty liver.
      You will not absorb certain vitamins/minerals that well so you'll need to supplement calcium and vitamins in your diet. It is recommended to switch to low fat foods and increase your water intake. Switching to lean meats like lean poultry helps. Low/no cholesterol diets will help not form most common stones. A tiny bit of salt/sodium in your diet is optimum to also reduce chances of forming stones.
      Functioning gallbladders help with the higher fat intake we humans can bare (example: pizza, burger, cheese, high fat milk, fries, milk chocolate etc) but without this gallbladder we need to be careful and avoid those foods or switch to low fat alternatives. Increasing fruits in diet helps too.
      If you have diabetes or IBSD or other condition on top I suggest to speak to a specialist or nutritionist for further help.

    updated 7/24/2020 I had ultrasound 7/21//2020 All gallstones gone. there are few polyps measure up to 2 mm . that's it. I still gonna do that same juice every morning, this time I'll add 1 beetroots , little ginger and 1 glove garlic hopefully the polyps be gone after 2 months or at least stop the polyps turn into cancer:) I'm so happy
    This is what I know, the saturated fat in coconut oil ( medium-chain triglycerides) doesn't require bile to break down and read the following:
    This is real life real story ;
    I got Gallstones and have 2 friends had gallstones, they took 1 tbsp coconut oil mixed with 8 oz fresh green Apple juice every morning before any food, their stones gone after 2 month I started May 25th hopefully mine are gone too in a month, I'll demand another ultrasound test next month to find out. if it works I'll start my own channel to let the whole world know. so far I'm good, light urine, brown stool , constipation gone, bloated stomach gone, no attack since May 25th, every now and then I feel movement in my gallbladder like something move in slow motion but no pain, hope it was contraction from gallbladder pushing the stones out.
    PS* I also drink 4oz of celery juice before the main remedy. Saturated fat in coconut oil doesn't require bile to break down , it's good saturated fat not the bad one, remember one thing, our body required and good and bad saturated fat to balance.

      Hi... Is this capsule are good for extreme gall bladder stones? My sister is suffering from severe pain every day... Doctors say that the stones are in high quantity and has blocked the gall bladder itself... So it should be removed... Please tell me if these capsules are helpful for severe gall bladder stones?

      Dear Sanghita, unfortunately the doctor is unable to prescribe medications over the Internet. If you visit your doctor you should be able to pick up the right prescription or receive the treatment you need. If you would like to visit Mr Bhattacharya to discuss your gallstone, you can make an appointment via www.topdoctors.co.uk/doctor/satyajit-bhattacharya. We hope you find a solution soon.

    If we have stone in gallbladder a pain killer does it works or not

    • @TopDoctorsUK
      @TopDoctorsUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Preety Tamang, your doctor may prescribe nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories or recommend over-the-counter painkillers to help relieve the pain, but to treat the gallstones, that will require their removal. Hope this helps.

    Disgusting that they send you home same day... shocking!! Also to say eat as normal is absolutely WRONG! You can't eat dairy carbohydrates sugar and red meat. Only proteins and fiber it will take with no pain. It's important to give people the right advice. Also it's time YOU doctors start listening to patients as it their body and you should know that our body talks to us. You doctors put yourself as a superior human well guess what time to put ego aside start humbling yourselves and start interacting in a more human way. We are all the same it just so happens that your service is to cure
