makes more sense to isolate the resistor on the common side than to do any soldering. you can see the logic is being pulled down. if released than is tied high internal.
Hello. I can't open my transceiver with this method, I mistakenly saved "f type"(as it stands for), I can't change f type to t type., can be opened programmatically or as a friend.

@d lion Hey brother is it safe to do a full reset? after you do this mod will the frequencies still be tx unlocked and the radio still Widebanded??? I fcked up the dsp settings and don't remember defaults but I'm scared if I reset I'll lose the mod.
Sounds like you have not done the mod yet. DON'T MOD! Reset your radio. I have not tried a full reset after mod, so don't know if it is safe. If you reset after mod, you may lose the mod setting in the SYSTEM menu, but you can re-enter the system and change the option again. As was said before, DON'T MOD!

Wayne the barber: Probably CB and Freeband users (yes, I know its not legal). A lot of people here (UK) buy this radio "wide-banded" for use on CB / Freeband....most dealers will do the modification for a small fee at the time of purchase.

Omg, cold'nt you find a more bigger soldering iron? This is reason why i never buy a transceiver that has been tampered with.
The effect after desoldering gives the impression that the jumper was removed with a pickaxe.
It's been 4 years since this video was made. Has there been any noticeable bad effects to the transceiver since the Mod was done?
