Makes an eight minute video arguing Hulk is a good driver, doesn't even allude to the fact that he won the most competitive 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP1-H era
Wiki merchants or new fans call Hulkenberg bad for not having a podium genuinely don’t understand how good the silent Hulk performances are. His P4 at Korea ‘13, his incredible consistency at Renault in 2017. The times where he should’ve had podiums and the team let him down or mechanical failures got him. Nico is one of the drivers that should be in F1 without a debate
Every year there is some driver that gets a lot of hype for scoring points in a midfield car (last season Albon, this season Tsunoda) What people don’t realize is Hulk has been doing that his entire career. He’s never scored less than 9 points in any season he’s ever completed He’s even doing the same this season, in a goddamn Haas
Great video. The podium argument has always been an annoying one. He's put in tons of great drives for the cars he's had but because they didn't end on steps some fans dismiss him or think he should be out the sport. Its just annoying, like there's races where a slight change in fortune he'd have that podium. Like Spa 2016, if Kmag doesn't bring out a red flag he's looking at a comfortable podium or Australia last year, red flag a whole sector later then he's on the podium. As you said these slight changes in fortune and say he gets 1 podium, is that what suddenly makes him good? It's just silly sometimes. He's been brilliant though. 3 years out full time and was instantly on it when he came back. I mean to me that just shows how good he is, the guy just can seemingly jump in any car and get to its limit. Currently one of the top drivers in his midfield pack, it's hard to really say he doesn't belong in the sport.
Banger video, i think he only was reviewing his f1 carrere. And not le mans or f3 and 2. And great job, like i always say. Hulkenberg is the Champion that was always at the wrong time at the wrong place. Give everyone equel cars and hulkenberg would be consistantly on under the top 5 in qualyfing, even on the front row looking how he drags a haas consistantly in q3
One thing: Hulkenberg is the third oldest driver in F1. The only ones that are older are Alonso and Hamilton. He would never be around for so long if he wasn't an absolute wheelman. He was just unlucky to never get picked by a big team. Because I think he would be a very good number 2 driver for Ferrari or Mercedes or RedBull.
If given the opportunity, I think he could be a Bottas type driver. A good number two that gets a slew of podiums and the od win here and there if the car under him is good enough.
Hulkenberg last year was genuinely decent alpine robbed him of a podium last year mind

Honestly Le Mans win > 10 F1 podiums
