Great video with good close ups and info, one small point of confusion you described the AV output and adaptors as phono which can lead to some confusion but otherwise really informative, the TV Guide looks very logically and clearly laid out, thanks for posting.
It gave up on me exactly 2 years after. I bought it for Qatar WC 2022 and in October 2024, it stop working and in constant loop for signal update. The price has gone up too to nearly £ 70. (69.95). In the end I gave up and bought Arris from Argos which seems to work. Thank Manhattan for the 2 year as promised warranty period. Would I buy again, perhaps not with Freely coming up.
Great video thank you. About to set up one of these. Want wi fi set up. Worried hub too far away from TV to have ethernet cable connected all the time. Video states not really needed. Will it pick up wi fi signal regardless on search? Then how do I type in Wi Fi password. Has both upper & lower case keys. Is this possible on screen as does not look possible from remote. Very Many thanks,
I have a new sky Q box and a new dish with two wires coming off from the aerial of the dish so do I need a Freesat box with two connections on the back or can I just use one and leave the other one limp ?
I would like to ask you if you could kindly let me know how can i get back to the menu as I press menu button in the remote and won't be able to get buck again Help me please
Do u need internet connect to use this thought it used sky receiver what’s point of Ethernet socket I’m only asking cause my mother is 74 she doesn’t use or need or have internet at her home
My mother has come off Sky Q, but I see the dish has two inputs, and the Freesat box only one to receive. I don't have signal. Is it more likely that I need an interim part or the position on the dish outside? I'm a bit clueless. 🤷🏼
You need to change your satellite dish's LNB or use a Freesat receiver that supports the wideband LNB used by Sky Q, such as the newer "4K TV Boxes" currently listed on freesat.co.uk. See here for more info: www.freesat.co.uk/help/using-your-existing-satellite-dish
You can add the free to air Asian channels as I've just done that. Save them in Favourites along with bbc1 for example and you can go straight to them from the favourites menu by pressing the yellow button.
Hey! Just came across this lovely video… I’m not a tech savvy & was wondering if this free box will function without a satellite dish present? Thanks in advance!
Thanks ! ……. One final question. Will this Freesat SX unit receive ‘Forces TV’ on channel 165 ? The ‘Forces TV’ website is not definitive….. On their site it says ‘Freesat HD recorder’ ….. I need something as the Freeview on ‘Forces TV ‘ is unwatchable (break up) … that’s if the signal is even there ! … Lancashire…. thank you…

You didn’t show what cables go where on Manhattan Box and on the TV. I BOUGHT MINE FOR £70.

How much did it cost? I don't think you said.
Hi thanks for sharing this video, I've just setup my box but when I get to the setup and press ok it won't respond
The existing satellite cable does not fit into the back of the Manhattan Freesat box
It should.
Does that box work on a wideband LNB?
Hi, you say these are not being made anymore, yet this was made a year ago & still loads for sale out there. Is there a new version about ???

Did you have to run another cable to you sky dish
Does the Manhattan Freesat have the terrestrial channels?
How much did it cost again ?
Do I have to use my data to watch
My sky dish has 2 cables.. Can I just plug in 1 dish cable with this.?
Yes you can but you won't be able to record with this set up.

@@fezhat7096 thanks
Your Sky Q wideband LNB won't work with this box. You would need to buy the Arris box or change the LNB to a universal one.
1 wire is fine.
5:26 Wrong channel name!!! That's not BBC One, that's CCTV-13
The BBC News were showing a clip from CCTV-13!!
No signal with mine
i did all that and it 's saying no service or Digital service with yellow exclamation mark. what i m doing wrong? thanks in adv
Did you have sky q before hand
What is the point of the internet connection?
I have sqy q and a fairly new sat dish from sky, will this not work with my sat cables?
Afriad not, you'll need a Freesat 4k box.
Great vid 👍 so would this work with sky q cables
Afriad not SkyQ, you'd need a Freesat 4K box.
Can u have apps on it TH-cam Disney etc etc
Afraid not
does this work with out wifi?
yes
I would like to ask you if you could kindly let me know how can i get back to the menu as I press menu button in the remote and won't be able to get buck again
Help me please
does it have access to BBC teletext ?
How do you change AV?
Hi can you use a hard drive like seagate 1tb
No, this box isn't a recorder I'm afraid.
Do I need a Sky dish for this to work?
You need a satellite dish pointing at 28.2°E, so a "Sky" dish would be fine as long as it has an LNB with a universal output (as opposed to wideband).
Why don't it pick up the full range of FTA channels ie. BBC northern Ireland and utv, I'm from Ireland
The programme guide is regionalised based on your postcode. As I live in West Sussex, I get channels that are local to me.
@@ONhistoryplus yes true but the box don't recognise my Irish post code or eircode as we call it here. Is it possible to change that?
@@mikegalvin361 I suppose you could try a Northern Ireland postcode?

You don't need the internet to watch the TV channels.
you don't get the full epg just now & next
Thanks mate
Hi Good day my name is Rodney Peters I am from South Africa just want to know if this free sat box will work in my country many thanks.
No, it won't.

Do you have those Asian Bollywood channels near the 800 and 900 channels?
no. To see what channels are available, go to www.freesat.co.uk
You can add the free to air Asian channels as I've just done that. Save them in Favourites along with bbc1 for example and you can go straight to them from the favourites menu by pressing the yellow button.

There aren't any on Freesat I am afraid.
Hey! Just came across this lovely video… I’m not a tech savvy & was wondering if this free box will function without a satellite dish present?
Thanks in advance!
No, you must have a dish!
Does it have pause
No. You cannot pause/rewin/record with this box.
Where did you get this from for £40 please?
You can also get it in Argos for £39
@@TheSusulove Thank you :)
I literally say in the video - John Lewis!
Do you need WiFi for this
Nope
It does connect to WiFi if you want it to but that seems to be just for firmware updates.
It functions perfectly without wifi
Argos still selling at £69 in 2024
Now you need HD Sat box
Is it HD ?
Yes

Yes, can confirm Forces TV is here on Freesat channel 165.
Thank you ! information much appreciated…. Ordered one !
Nicely demonstrated!..Thankyou.
I thought the whole point of the video was to show how to set the freesat box up. You just went onto channels!!!
You've confused a review for an installation guide.
That's free view channels
You can get that from old TV 🙄
But App No Smart nothing 🤷♂
Because poor not available smart tv box.
I didn't see TH-cam? ?
i like how you can delete channels what you dont watch like food/god/shopping etc
No Smart nothing.
would the quality of picture in hd . be the same as sky
Yes, it is the same satellite.
