The 2024 Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE Is A More Upscale & Sensible Japanese Electric SUV

- The follow-up to the #Nissan leaf has arrived and while the #NissanAriya is definitely late to the party. For 2024, the #Ariya gets a significant price cut that makes the #Ariyae4ORCE even more enticing for buyers looking for a comfortable and spacious electric SUV from Nissan. While some rivals do offers more to help them stand out, the latest Ariya could still be worth a look if you want to drive something a little more rare on the roads.

Traded my 22 pilot in for this. Best car I’ve ever owned. SUPER quite ride like Cadillac, super comfortable seats. I’m so in love with the vehicle I’ll probably get another. It regenerates SOOOO much back into battery down hill i would advise only charging to 70-75% if you live in mountainous areas, anything above that it’ll put way too much back into an already charged battery. I charged to 70% went to lake alpine from pioneer ca, drove back down to Arnold ca, took some side trips to see my old childhood cabin. Drove to angles camp ca, then back up to my house near Tahoe ca. Made it back home with exactly 100 miles of range, mind you it’s 100 degrees outside so A/C is being used with four occupants! My 2020 model 3 performance could never on a 70% charge! I have the engage+ E-force. Mind you, my anxiety is going crazy thinking I won’t have enough battery to get back home 😂 I’m really happy I went with a truly Japanese vehicle instead of the Honda prologue.
Also, my infotainment did that once I first received it, it has to do all the updates one you hook it up to WiFi, mine runs smoothly now. I also turned the haptic sound when you press icons off. I feel like that makes it slow and laggy. Awd system is sick, literally no wheel slip when taking off in a dirt road. I put this thing through its paces already. 😅
@@jppilotadventurez5251
My Ariya Evolve FWD drives nicer than my fathers 2009 Lexus LS460.
Don't use the haptic buttons. Say, "Hey Nissan! Turn on the AC"
How is the route planning? Does it give you charger stops along the way automatically and then give you the information as to how many stalls are open Etc I'm thinking of getting one, thanks
I love our Ariya we have a white Platinum+ with the 389hp. We have no issues driving local places with the 250 miles of range. I bought it with 3500 miles on the odometer for $39k with an original sticker price of $62k!
You are one lucky EV owner
That’s a great deal.
Platinum+ with 10k miles cpo certified going for below $30k already. Crazy deals going on
Something is wrong with that infotainment center. Mine is buttery smooth, never had a problem. My thinking is, that’s a press car! It’s had 3,000 phones connected to it🤣 Maybe it’s got a bug or something.🤷🏾♂️ lastly, I have the base model venture+ front wheel drive 300 mile range. I absolutely love it. I’ve had it for almost a year and there isn’t a single day I regret purchasing it❤
It’s likely because he was recording on the same phone that CarPlay was connected to. CarPlay sometimes lags when that is the case.
@@MattCC16Gaming True, but even the native system seems slow and unresponsive in the video.
@@MyMovie5858 yeah. It seems to be faster once you play around with it for a little bit. But overall it seems it get could use a boost in speed.
@@MyMovie5858probably hasn’t had a hard re-boot or a software update done on it, so its lagging. Simple fix.
Agreed mine is way faster than his I have no complaints with the infotainment...just wish it had satellite maps with real images other than that its great
I took delivery of my evolve/e4orce+ Ariya AWD, with the Northern Lights metallic green-purple-black color on 9/25. It's my first EV and I LOVE IT. My previous vehicle (keeping) is a MBZ clk55-amg. There was only 10 miles on the odometer of the Ariya, so she was straight out the factory and off the truck. The look: she's a real head-turner. I get lots of comps and questions. The drive: excellent torque on "standard", good torque on "eco" and I haven't even tried "sport" mode (I don't think I need to yet) 😂. The ride is a little stiff, but very solid and not uncomfortable at all. The interior/exterior lighting was way more than expected. Overall: A great decision for a first EV. Im trying to convince the Mrs to buy her own! 😉 So in closing and in my opinion, this crossover is the most slept-on and underrated EV on the market! I highly recommend! P.S. I'm 6'5" 320 lbs, so there's that. Still love the comfort.
I test drove this and it’s nice car. Nissan should give it faster charging, more range, a lower price and replace the motorized central console with a manual one with storage. I like the combination of normal door handles, good horsepower, rear wiper, wireless CarPlay, a sunroof that actually opens and some decent buttons (although it’s too bad they are haptic.). The ones I’ve seen in person look very nice. The model Y is a great car in many ways but it’s not premium. No head up display, no cooled seats, no cover for the glass roof, no blind spot monitor, no radar sensors for parking, no camera mirror. None of that stuff is necessary, but it’s pretty standard on “premium” cars.
@@Molishious You can say “Hey Nissan” without touching the haptic buttons. “Hey Nissan, turn on the AC”
@@marketbuy If “Hey Nissan” works well then that’s good to know and I might like doing it that way. Right now I have a temperature knob and I know I like that, and I’ll like the haptic buttons less, but they’ll be okay. Can you say “Hey Nissan, turn on the heated seats”?
@@Molishious
It works! "Hey Nissan! Turn ON/OFF Heated Seats"
@@marketbuy That’s good to know. Thanks for verifying. I appreciate it.
Looks better than a Tesla with better fit, finish and construction. No frunk.. no biggy
consumer reports ranks this pretty high in the predicted reliability in its class.
Looks better than a Tesla 🤔 that made me 😂

@@shanewilfon6860 your Tesla draws are too tight.
Yeah no sense arguing with closed-minded fanboissss 😂
I had the chance to drive a Platinum E-Force for a week and absolutely loved it. The power was smooth and linear and I really enjoyed the acceleration in it. The ride and handling was very good and I did not experience the impact harshness that is mentioned in your video. The charge times were fine and I did not have any issues with it. 8 hrs at night while sleeping and it was a ready to go the next morning. The infotainment system was very responsive and there was never a lagging and I didn’t notice a grainy look to the display. My only gripe was the aggressiveness of the E-STEP system. WAY TOO ABRUPT, so I gave up on using it. I noticed the brake pedal softness while it was on that would go back to normal with the system off.
Overall I was very impressed with this vehicle. I love the styling in and out. Mine had the 20” wheels which I think look way better. I actually got more than the EPA estimates when I drove it responsively but it was so much fun using all the power it was hard not to play around. Nissan has done a great job with this vehicle !

EStep requires practice. It's an art to perfect. If you want best range, always set EStep as a default. I can not drive without Estep.
First Nissan I've looked at were I thought about wanting one in years.
Oh yeah fella? 🙄
I would have never considered a Nissan until I saw this in person doing EV shopping. Leased one for my parents a week later. Beautiful car with great lease programs.
Sofyan… you know CarPlay was laggy to that extent because you were recording with the same phone connected to the system. And there is no way that screen is grainy/low res. I’m not claiming the infotainment is perfect but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be here.
And how was the car beating its EPA estimates spun into a negative thing? Being that it’s a press car, I’m sure the range estimates are thrown off by all the different reviewers driving it. I don’t think it would be far fetched to think it would be a little more accurate with a typical driver.
I hope he reads your comment to further understand it
At this price, the Ariya seems like it should be a Infiniti model. The dealership experience and service at a Nissan store is definitely going to be far poorer than a Infiniti store....
Agree. They should re-badge as Infiniti.
MSRP is kind of irrelevant. After government and OEM incentives and dealer discounts, I leased an Evolve+ (one level down from the top trim) for $160/month with only taxes and fees up-front. 10,000 miles per year and the dealer experience was as good as any other mainstream brand.
Is the CarPlay laggy because you were recording on the same phone that was connected? In previous reviews and in other videos the CarPlay is fine. I remember in other videos I think you had another iPhone to show CarPlay.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
For reference, my 2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve+ FWD with the 87 kWh battery consistently gets me 310-330 miles of range with 95% charge. EPA estimate is 289 miles. My driving is based on 70% city and 30% hwy driving. I currently have 19K miles.
Where do you live? Here in Canada there is typically a huge drop in range during the winter

9:50 The driver's seat & outer mirror memory system is available on other trims. I just wish they'd offer the cooled front seats & Bose audio system on other trims besides the Platinum+ which has less range than the trims with an estimated 289 miles
I just completed a lengthy trip from north NJ to San Diego, CA in four days on our Platinum 2023 Ariya. It was a totally no-problem trip with very little strain on me due to Pro Pilot Pro assistance.
As of Oct,2024, 2023 model used Arias with under 10k miles are advertised under $24k(base)/$28k(fully loaded, awd) in Atlanta area which is very appealing.
I like the comparison statement, very helpful. Thanks
Definitely the best Japanese ev on sale
Yup
Yes, but... what does that say about the state of EVs amongst all Japanese manufacturers? Hint: Nothing great.
@@acanuck1679
Nissan has 13 yrs of electrification experience which is why I bought my 2023 Nissan Ariya Evolve FWD. This Japanese brand is so far ahead of their peers
Checked it out at a car show and it's nice! Finally saw one k. The road a couple months ago. In the future when I look at evs I'll check out it's latest iteration
Yes the color of the kisluxbag is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
That infotainment system wasn’t that laggy when you first tried it in NorCal over a year ago
After test driving a Tesla Model Y Performance and Long Range in Long Beach Tesla, I decided to try out the Ariya and I ended up leasing the 2024 Nissan Ariya Platinum+ e-4orce AWD in two-tone white. I see Tesla Model Y almost every stop lights in LA and Orange county and wanted something different. I prefer a traditional dashboard design, a steering wheel with buttons, heads up display, sonar and blind spot monitor. The ride is incredibly smooth, the suspension handles bumps effortlessly, and it's very quiet, much like a Lexus. The seats are extremely comfortable with Nappa leather, and the infotainment system design resembles Mercedes. While it doesn't have Tesla's speed, it is more than enough with 389 hp and 412 lb ft. Plus, the ProPilot 2.0 is amazing, it can park itself. The lease 18 months/10k miles deal is unbeatable at just $370 a month (including tax) zero drive off for a $62k EV SUV. Nissan could have re-badged the Ariya as an Infiniti.
This is a really nice looking car. It’s actually one of the better electric CUVs on the market right now. Looks better than the ionic five and Tesla model Y for sure. The downsides to it is that the range isn’t that great, slow charging, and even though the motorized center consoles is cool it takes up storage space. Why is it that all of these legacy manufacturers can’t offer a car that gets at least 310 real world miles on most models? 🤷🏽♂️
Can you explain the tint standards as you mentioned with it being a SUV or not an SUV?
I have a platinum with the 20" wheels and its anything but soft in corners is it the cayenne I came from no.....But the tires make a huge difference in the handling. Agreed on the harshness on the shocks.
Here we see Sofyan attempt (and fail) to refrain from saying “the N-Word” during his test drive
Great review. Almost a good EV. Hope Nissan can tune in the ride and handling soon.
First off, this is a good car
I have some serious questions I would like addressed. I have the 2024 version. I consider having to push the stick forward instead of pulling it backwards counter intuitive and when my neighbor said her Leaf worked the right way I Knew it was a manufactured 7:20 defect. Listening to the video I heard I should be expecting to get a range of 267 to 272 miles. Mine is only getting 200 at best. So what started as a seemingly inconvenient screw up with the back up function seems to have affected me dramatically in range. A significant inconvenience. I will don’t know if it will burst into flames like the Tesla? Not actually tested by a human in a the environment it was destined to be used in?
I am willing to give Nissan the opportunity to make it right Either remanufacture this car to the original specs I should have gotten or provide a new one with all the bells and whistles available upgrading to leather and the rear lift I heard was available. Your car should have been Perfect to carry the name Nissan. Right? 7:20
Make it a 2025 what the heck . Trying to pawn off some mismanufactured crap with a fantastic price but not revealing that there was a catch. Please provide your assurance that each vehicle be recalled to establish that it will not burst into flame. 7:20
Another stipulation. I want a human to drive it around the block? I wonder what that will cost you? You think no problem we’ve got Josh. You will find that isn’t under his job description as GM. So you will owe him for it even he does it for free. He could charge whatever he wants. There isn’t a union equivalent for God doing a test drive. Right?
Just putting this out there but I do know when I’ve been screwed. Especially by the best. 7:20

Does it show just a 200 mi range or are you actually measuring it like charging it to 100% resetting your trip meter and bringing it down to let's say 10% and doing the math? Because mine will charge to about 287 mi, and most of the time I can get over 300. I do have the front wheel drive evolve plus with the 19-in accessory rims without the aero covers
I friend has this model and I drove it recently. I was super-impressed with the car. Maybe if I drove more high-end EV's I would be less impressed?
What is it that makes defining it as a wagon not require window tinting? SUVs require window tinting?
Nice & This new Ariya EV is my choice to buy.
I like Readline reviews but this is one of the most negative review on the Ariya I have watched. I Test drove the Ariya few weeks ago and I can say it's way better the most EV's in it's class.
How is the Ariya not a SUV but something like the Kia EV6 or Hyundai Ioniq 5 are? Hmmm
The Nismo version is coming btw just working some things out, it’s gong to compete in a certain segment. Be patient, it’s coming!
The AC charging Level 2 is not competitive - 7.2 kW. By comparison a PHEV Chrysler Pacifica eHybrid PHEV can charge 6.6 kW with 19 kW battery. For the price of the vehicle and 87 kW battery size it is really slow.
If you look up the on board charger of the nissan ariya they have a 22kW standard
I rarely saw any on the road but now (past 6 months or so) I see a lot of them here in So Cal. I think there must be great leaase deals or something. BTW I have a 2020 Sentra and love the voice commands. I seldom tune the radio by touch any more, but I think mine system doesn't wake up when I say 'Nissan". It's a push to talk system.
People are leasing it. It so cheap to lease the Ariya now. Crazy incentives from Nissan. You can get the engage base FWD for under $260 a month 18 months/10k miles or the Engage e-force AWD for $290 a month.
That floating dash reminds me they should make a new Quest. 275mi would give me range anxiety 😂, I’ll stick to hybrids
Honestly, as an EV owner for 11 years, range of 275 is plenty adequate. Normal driving you seldom drive more than 50 miles/day. Road trips, nice to have a break after 2-3 hours of driving and 30 minutes of charging will get you another 130 miles down the road.
We’ve survived without frunks for years, stop obsessing over it.
The way I see it, once the Equinox hits for that price point - there's no point in buying anything that charges slower than like 180kw peak.
Out of all Nissan. Best amd most absolutely luxury looking car ever! 😂
If it offers over the air updates hopefully the infotainment bugs can be solved. I like the weirdness of it though.
So new and environmentally friendly.
I like this car, but it has few issues, like you said, the software needs to be updated for faster processing speed, and it needs a proper center console storage, that tiny center console storage is unacceptable, it needs some actual physical buttons and knobs for climate controls, including heated and ventilated seats, it needs the regular household power outlet for the rear passenger, it’s an EV, you are supposed to provide that outlet for all sorts of appliances. If Nissan can fix all these, it will be the EV I buy. I don’t care about the slow charging, because I will charge this car 99% of time at home.
Love your attitude about this bag and not caring about what people will say. kislux You are right keep your head up and no your priorities.
He should have mentioned the competitors, so we could make that evaluation for ourselves.
$159/mo with $0 down for a 24-month lease is unbeatable by the competition.

If it's not a 3-4 second vehicle, he seems less enthusiastic and more nitpicky when reviewing. You know very well that the display is not grainy in the slightest. And I bet you were recording on the same phone you had connected to CarPlay.
These manufacturers should stop sending you their vehicles since you clearly seem bothered to review them. It has nothing to do with the negative criticism; all manufacturers need to be open to constructive criticism. This, however, was not constructive. It was just criticism.
Much better locking than Tesla Y.
I disagree
The infotainment speed is a non starter for me.
Now you can get a used one with the same spec with less than 5000 miles for $25K.
These are inexpensive to lease right now, that’s the way to go. I’ve seen a fair amount here in my area,
For a "numbers look pretty good on paper" review it could have been worse. I suspect the charging numbers will look even worse by the time this Ariya gets refreshed....and they look pretty bad already. I like that interior though, very attractive and "not black" which I appreciate. That moving brake pedal thing is a real deal killer for me. Bad Nissan!
Stramge that apple car play was slow. I would assume it was limited to phone performance.
It was connected via “wireless” CarPlay that made the infotainment system “laggy”.
I do agree that Nissan desperately NEEDS an OTA SOFTWARE UPGRADE.
Maybe competitive at $40,000.
My 23 Ariya screen is not as slow as your test car’s.
What happened to the Leaf? Why not just upscale that and capitalize on the 15-year name? It's almost synonymous with an affordable, everyman EV. Why opt for a fake word like Ariya when you have a real word in LEAF?
Because the Leaf is hot garbage when you can just buy a Prius
