Thanks Phrakanong for telling me that Chatuchak is not flooded. Got different picture from friends but they are not from Bangkok. Always good to verify with reliable sources everyone! Such a relief.
Thanks for uploading this. I live on Phahon Yothin Rd. in BKK and the floodwater is only 10 km north of here and moving south. Will probably be flooded here by morning. Thanks again for sharing your video.
@larthantos No, the kid is not driving. The steering wheel is on the other side. In Thailand we normally drive on the left side of the road so the steering wheel is on the right.
@ninuxy Most taxis are manual shift. There are many pick-up trucks here also. Most of them are manual shift. Many of the privately owned passenger cars are automatic. I'd guess most of the newer models are.
@freeurmind2 It's north of Chatuchak. The edge of the flood waters began adjacent to Don Mueang Airport, near Wat Don Mueang and extended northward. This was two days ago. I live far from there so I don't know the must current situation or extent of the flood waters in that area.
@zhenzx update zhenzx - the water in one of the khlongs, Khlong Prem, in Chatuchakk District is overflowing its banks. Sorry I don't know the exact locations and extent of the areas affected by this.
@baosavanh75 The airport at Don Meung is flooded, but I'd guess flights would likely be diverted over to Suvarnabhumi Airport, although some fights might be canceled. As said, check with the airline agency you plan to travel with.
I hope Thailand will see the end of the floods soon.. From the video, Thais really do know how to keep calm in such circumstances. They have this saying 'mai pen rai' which loosely means 'its ok'. I repeat this to myself too when i feel upset about silly little things.
Oh no this is sad! Hopefully it doesn't cause water borne diseases and accidents/injuries!! I'll be in Bangkok in Jan next year hopefully things will recover soon. I love Thailand!
I watch Cambodia News about the flood. It not raining anymore over there, but people are wonder why in the day time the water getting lower then by over night in early morning the water are swelling up again and again. It just bec Thai land still raining hard and its flow into Mekong river. Something about Camb. when Veitmane's war, its spelled into Cambodia also. So What my point is please be nice to your neighbor. Cambodia is beautiful, nice and innocent. We shld b nice to each other.
@trimblephil The police and the army are there helping but it's very low key. No authoritarians shouting orders at people. Near the end of the video the men in the white shirts with the black letters on the back are police. Army trucks were moving people to and from their homes in the flooded areas and providing them with bags of food and other items. You will see some of the people carrying these bags.
This is the BEST Thai flooding video yet!
Great, my Friend!! My heart goes out to the people affected by the flood. May God Bless.

@ThePunjabichora Yes, it will be over by then.
Could anyone tell me is Chatuchak flooded as well? :(
@baosavanh75 They say that Don Mueang will be closed for at least a week. So you should consult your airline/travel agent.
Dang! Waist high in some spots. Hopefully it won't get any worse.
The people seem to be taking it all in stride. No panic or waiting for the government to come get them. Remarkable people.
I hope Thailand will see the end of the floods soon..

I don't think you will get a flight out of Don Muang within the next week or so...
@thai1able No, not at all. It would be appreciated very much. Thanks.

@zhenzx To the best of my knowledge, no it is not flooded.

@maxvelocity66 their moral is what u can learn from oxford nor cambridge uni. so real, so down to earth
@zhenzx i love thai too.
@ChristopherLund that is a real shame, their inaction causing innocents lives
@karlphillips1 It's not a wicked act of God. It's the result of heavy rains and inaction from Thai government officials.
