I needed long from videos to play in the background while I ground runecrafting in old school and now one mind has me hooked into 40k. Horus is definitely my favorite because I love the vengeful spirit.
Question: Is there a Chaos equivalent of the "Machine spirit" ? Considering much of the Dark Mechanicus split from the AM on Mars.. do they hold the same beliefs?
Kind of? Something to keep in mind is that Machine Spirits are present in everything the Imperium builds. From bolters to titans, everything has a machine spirit. Thus, since Chaos nicks a LOT of things from the imperium, they have to deal with Machine Spirits all the time. Generally, they send them into insanity or outright imprison them, replacing them with daemons. Now, do chaos-built machines possess spirits? This is less clear. Its possible that the Heretechs still form Machine Spirits in their constructs, but since they tend to imbue their constructs with deamons and these entities fulfill the same roll, its possible that they have lost this ability. So, to more directly answer, Chaos does deal with, use, and corrupt machine spirits. Thus they do "believe" in machine spirits and still maintain that similarity in creed and dogma to the main AdMech. However, they tend to utilize daemonic possession of machines instead of controlling and working with the machine spirit. So their "equivilant" is daemons... Hope that answered your question...
