OP DEKOFFIE #18 - JAN SEBASTIAAN DEGEYTER

Long time friendship, that is what you here in this episode. Jan-Sebastiaan and I know each other from when the animals could talk...
This multi talented guy, a combination of a precious sensitivity and an absolute dedication to whatever he's involved with, has been on the "Op de Koffie"-list since the beginning. I was going to keep some specials to the end, I said, and here it is, three episodes from the last, with Jan-Sebastiaan Degeyter.
As a guitarist, I'v always been amazed by his beautiful phrasing and very precise sense of rhythm. And then, he makes beautiful compositions and very personal songs. He is also a great graphic designer and illustrator, and in that sense he's been present in Op de Koffie's every single episode because he designed the logo.
We play for you two pieces of his writing. One brand new song called Lone Star and a instrumental called Gecko.
As always, it is my duty to point out that small speakers do no justice to the lower frequencies and thus provide only half the experience. Just hook up those decent speakers or headphones, its just that nicer...
"Op de koffie" means so much as "visiting for a cup of coffee" in my mother tongue, Dutch. In 2023, I will be inviting 21 people to meet in Studio Galinella, this wonderful place I share with some friends. We have fun together and play some music, connecting through the most beautiful language we have.
