  • Maggie Rogers, singer, songwriter, and producer, releases her sophomore studio album, 'Don’t Forget Me'.
Maggie Rogers sits down with Zane Lowe to have a conversation around the significance of track listing in shaping the narrative of an album. Maggie expresses how this record feels like she’s “coming home”, and the record her younger self wished she could one day create.
Reflecting on the songwriting process, she strives to avoid overthinking her lyrics. In her approach to collaboration, she explains that she looks for someone who can challenge her and fill the distance between her brain and her instrument.

Loved Maggie from the first listen. Just saw her in concert a few days ago. Best concert I've ever been to - and as a 56 yo music addict, I've been to alot. Her energy, passion, and commitment to her craft is world class. She makes it look so easy! I also love Zane's interviews. He's got a great knack for making artists talk about the things we want to hear. Soooo glad they got her on here!

I love this album and it's like her first album. Like I wanna know all the lyrics and there isn't one song that felt like NO, I don't like but I like all of them. Love love and it's on repeat!

The new album is excellent. Lyrics are fantastic and rhythm effortlessly melodic. An element that is slowly drifting away is a sense of whimsy that was really enjoyable about the first album. Maybe a consequence of age but I hope some of it returns in the future.

This can look as a superficial comment, but it isn't... I never look at this stuff, but I just can't stop noticing how her tee compliments her eyes and her jacket compliments her hair, or vice-versa... One of the things I like about Maggie is that it seems that nothing that she does is by accident.

Who couldn’t help but contrast Maggie’s perspective on using storytelling in music to process relationships to Taylor’s (@9:45 and @10:52)? No shade, I’m a big fan of both, but it was the first thing that came to mind as I heard them discussing “savaging” an ex… 😅 ❤
