It's not that sentencing is too harsh, it's that people from "minority communities" are not being arrested, tried and jailed for the (often MUCH worse) things that they have done. Yelling out "R@pe Jew!sh Daughters" should definitely carry a VERY long prison sentence. But has anyone been arrested for it??

It’s also that the sentencing is _way_ too harsh, and in some cases charges shouldn’t have been brought at all.

Chris Snowdon is an odd kind of libertarian.
The only things he ever really seems to get exercised about are people trying to ban cigarettes, alcohol or junk food. When it comes to true authoritarianism like lockdowns and people being thrown in jail for years for social media posts, he comes across as positively enthusiastic.

why would they , when the conviction where guaranteed, when the Home office was calling these people criminals, when they where only arrested, which they seem to forget about the whole Presumption of Innocence

we have the Home Office on X calling people who have been arrested Criminals. I'm sorry but we have a thing call presumption of innocence, and people who are just arrested are not people who have been convicted in a court of law and are not criminals.
In a fair legal system, this would be seen as prejudicial to a fair trial , and libelous , and would make any conviction Unsafe.
It's like the HO knew the convictions where guaranteed , and the legal system said don't worry Starmer, we will ensure they get convicted. The people who did something similar was the People's court in Germany in WW2
So i will not take lectures from Starmer, Labour on how bad Putin, Iran is, he just as bad.
